Equans UK&I has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel within its Places and Communities  (“P&C”) division. P&C is a division of Equans UK&I which offers refurbishment housing services to a broad range of public and private sector clients; and sustainable energy management.  This role reports directly into the Head of Legal for the P&C division. You will also work closely with the P&C legal and business teams especially business development, commercial and senior management and externally with counterparty legal advisers, Equans UK&I’s external legal advisers, contract counterparties and customers. You will be required to provide timely, high quality, practical and commercially focused legal advice, balancing legal risk with the commercial needs of the business.

What will you deliver? 

 

  • Providing commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of projects ensuring compliance with applicable law.
  • Reviewing, negotiating and/or drafting agreements and conducting contract negotiations with project counterparties primarily for construction, refurbishment and related services.
  • Supporting on commercial and contractual matters for tenders, projects, variations and on-going contractual and operational matters.
  • Assisting on the governance of transactions at local and Equans’ group level.
  • Working closely with colleagues throughout the Equans’ group and with customers.
  • Managing external legal resource as required.
  • Assisting in developing and delivering training on legal matters for colleagues across the Equans’ business.

Who are we looking for? 

Essential: Experience, Knowledge, Personal Specification and Qualifications

 

  • UK (or common law equivalent) qualified solicitor or barrister with ideally 3 to 6 years of post-qualification experience.  We will be flexible depending on the quality of experience.
  • Experience in both private practice and in-house roles preferred but not essential
  • We will be flexible depending on the quality of experience
  • Understanding of the contractual framework surrounding construction projects within the UK construction market including experience of negotiating and agreements based on industry standard forms in particular the JCT suite of contracts and NEC.
  • Experience of public procurement preferred.

Life Cycle Project Manager


Equans is looking for a Lifecycle Project Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a fixed term contract for 24 months. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

 

This role is fundamental to the delivery of all projects and lifecycle works on behalf of Equans and the Client. Meeting the Clients needs and ensuring works are delivered within budget and on time is paramount and the post holder needs to reflect this in the day-day operations. All projects must ensure a favourable financial return.

As part of the Project Management team you will take full accountability for the delivery of Variations and Life Cycle projects across the PFI site. As part of this you will be expected to take manage the P&L and H&S for your projects from concept to completion with the support from the Lead PM and Head of Projects. Your role will be fundamental to the efficient delivery of projects to both the SPV and Trust who you will build relationships with as part of your role. You will be expected to work well with the remainder of the team and support the wider Operational team to support the business in its Contractual delivery.

We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the team at the Hospital. The individual will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to a changing workload and business imperatives while able to establish excellent working relationships within the existing team and clients alike. Experience within a contractual, KPI-driven environment and exposure to a hospital PFI environment a pre-requisite.

The ideal candidate will have an M&E or construction background and previous experience of end to end project management, being responsible for development through to completion.

What will you deliver?

  • Full Profit & Loss responsibility for your delivered projects & life cycle works
  • Build and sustain strong relationship with relevant stakeholders (Trust / SPV) at management level to ensure the continuation and growth of the pipeline for the foreseeable future
  • Support the wider Project, Life cycle and operational teams to ensure all work is carried out on time & to budget
  • Manage the team and ensure that there is continuity of service during staff absences/holidays
  • Ensure on time delivery and margin optimisation is achieved for all projects
  • Support all phases of the project, from initial request to close out, to meet all contractual requirements
  • Support the Lead PM with processes and governance across the site which will make the contract a Centre of Excellence across the business area
  • Continually refining the project delivery model to ensure the right resources and approach is deployed and optimised for each project
  • Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures. Manage the implementation of designated projects. Ensure the project plan is maintained from inception to completion
  • Monitoring and communicating project financial performance and administration to the Lead PM so that you can review targets against budget
  • Oversee and support your team to co-ordinate operatives, suppliers in a planned and controlled manner ensuring efficiency and minimising costs
  • Implement and comply with Equans policies and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice within Equans Group's including regular safety inspections within the allocated business area
  • Detailed discussions with Trust staff and careful planning are required to ensure that works can proceed with the minimum of disruption to building users
  • Ensure as necessary, all drawings, specifications and tender documents are prepared. Must adhere to requirements to be compliant with all statutory requirements including Health and safety
  • Check and comment on designs and specifications provided by consultants for larger capital projects
  • Monitor working procedures and performance of suppliers with particular regard to health and safety. Liaise closely with Technical Services, and Estates Maintenance Managers to assist with monitoring and performance measurement
  • Responsible for undertaking work in any other building/property/location as required

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and the PFI environment
  • A strong Project Manager, who will have a proven track record working in Healthcare and delivering projects in a live environment
  • Strong Commercial awareness will be needed to manage and flow Supplier Contracts downstream.
  • Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications, Fire and Building Regulations Approvals
  • High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate.  A sound knowledge of standard spreadsheet packages and computerized estates and project management systems
  • Must be able to work with all stakeholders and operational staff, be self-motivating, able to work on own initiative, liaise and delegate effectively with staff operating in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • A sound knowledge of building and engineering services design and associated British Standards
  • A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements will be required
  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technical and estates and building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services
  • Financially aware and able to use Equans finance software (Coupa) to support the team in the delivery of projects
  • HNC /HND or equivalent qualification in a building or engineering discipline
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Experience of Microsoft Office software essential, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Project
  • Considerable experience operating in the public and/or private sector with a demonstrable track record of directly managing small works within a large and complex estate is essential 

This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.

Contract Manager


Equans is looking for a Contract Manager to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

 

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, they will be the senior lead for communicating and delivering the strategic direction on the Ashurst London Fruit and Wool Exchange contract along with the day-to-day operations of the contract.

The post holder will lead, direct and motivate a skilled multi-disciplinary team of circa 2 staff. Responsible for overseeing all key aspects of operational performance and delivery, commercial management, financial results, growth and strategic development and customer relationships for the contract within scope.

Work closely with the Customer Service and Helpdesk Teams to ensure contract KPI’s & SLA’s are being tracked and met. The role is very much a customer facing role which results in outstanding communications skills which also Involves the well-being of the team.

We are looking for an individual with a technical background and previous experience within contract management. Strong communication and stakeholder management, with strong commercial and financial acumen.

What will you deliver?

  • Generating monthly reports for the client
  • Excellent Customer/Landlord skills with, exceeding customers’ expectations and challenge Landlord where necessary on behalf of the customer
  • Ensure that appropriate monitoring of services is in line with contract requirements and local agreements
  • To work collaboratively with other Business Units to drive operational efficiencies where possible
  • To ensure performance of contracts against budgets
  • To work with SHEQ to ensure risks are appropriately identified and mitigated or removed
  • Maintain an effective Relationship/Communication strategy for the contract in relation to customers & staff

Electrical Estimator


Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

Equans has a great opportunity for an experienced M&E Estimator who has worked either within the LED street lighting or highways infrastructure sector. This is a pivotal role in our aim to expand within the street lighting and highways sector. 

The role itself can be based from Manchester, Middlesborough, Welwyn Garden City, London Waterloo or Sittingbourne offices and potentially home based. 

Key activities

  • To prepare and compile large/complex quotations and maintenance tenders for submission to clients.
  • Receipt of client enquiries and establishment of suitability within the business. Creation of CRM record, review of the scope and circulation to relevant operational division.  
  • Liaison with senior management to develop the Bid Strategy and request support to produce programmes, risk/compliance matrices and quality submissions as dictated by the enquiry. Visit site if required. Engage with Procurement team where necessary.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantity from drawing take off (where required) and raise technical queries with the client, where appropriate.
  • Liaise with the operational team to assess labour and fleet resource required and cost using up to date rates. Agree productivities and works duration, including preliminary items.
  • Update CRM record on submission and track progress with client. Ensure the relevant divisional team management are kept up to date with any developments.    
  • Assist procurement with compiling the material approval package for submission to client.

Skills, qualifications & experience

  • Previous experience in an Estimating role within street lighting or highways
  • Preferably from an Electrical Engineering background with Engineering qualifications (degree/HND etc.), other disciplines may be considered such as Instrumentation & Control, Civil, Process Engineering etc.
  • Experience of a wide range of tender types/sizes in the Highways (Road Lighting & Motorway Communications) / M&E / Utilities sectors.
  • Experience of supporting multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Ability to identify and price risks & opportunities
  • Diplomatic communicator, with excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and cross functionally
  • Comfortable visiting sites including highways and substations 
  • Degree/HNC in construction related subject, or qualified by experience
  • NEC and MF1 forms of contract experience
  • Able to produce simple programmes to evaluate preliminaries and phasing of work, and understand from a client/main contractor

Combustion & Mechanical Operations Manager - Mobile


Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Combustion & Mechanical Operations Manager to join our Mobile Maintenance Engineering team. The mobile team in London supports reactive and PPM maintenance activities across all the sites we currently operate ranging from schools, universities and hospitals to major Government buildings across Greater London and the South East. Please note this is a mobile role with travel across sites/contracts in London and surrounding areas.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Contract Manager
  • To manage and oversee the Gas & M&E services provided by our mobile team
  • Responsible for the management and delivery of the combustion and mechanical team to ensure we provide a quality service and are recognised for engineering excellence.
  • Project manage large projects which involves travelling to sites following CDM regulations
  • Manage client relationships and business development, ensuring visibility on sites
  • Management of subcontractors relating to gas & M&E work
  • Responsible for quotations, renewal and formulation of contracts to support the growth of Equans mobile solutions, integrating into existing and new contract opportunities
  • Full responsibility for ensuring reactive, PPM and project work for Gas & M&E are being completed and closed off in the time required
  • Working with Contract Manager and commercial to manage budget allocation 
  • Working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with participation in the management call out rota

The person:

  • Qualified at the appropriate level in a building services related discipline, must have understanding of CDM and a Good understanding of statutory compliance regulations
  • Strong technical background inclusive of gas, HVAC
  • Experience of using a CAFM system and be computer literate and able to use MS Office competently
  • Must have experience managing projects up to £250k
  • Strong Health & Safety background
  • Must be used to being client facing with excellent communication skills
  • Able to obtain DBS clearance and Met police clearance
  • Full clean driving license is essential – must be willing to be mobile and to travel to sites

Junior Inbedrijfsteller Fire Safety & Security

Dit ga je doen

Als Junior Inbedrijfsteller Fire Safety & Security werk je mee aan de veiligheid van gebouwen en installaties door het testen, configureren en inbedrijfstellen van brand- en beveiligingssystemen. Je krijgt de kans om je technische kennis verder te ontwikkelen en ervaring op te doen in een groeiende en dynamische sector.

In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor het installeren, programmeren en in bedrijf stellen van brandmeld- en beveiligingsinstallaties. Daarnaast voer je systeemtests uit en los je eventuele storingen op. Je biedt ondersteuning aan (senior) collega's tijdens inbedrijfstellingsprocessen, waarbij je ook functionele controles en kalibratie van verschillende systemen uitvoert. Verder informeer en instrueer je klanten over het gebruik van de geïnstalleerde systemen. Tot slot rapporteer je de voortgang en testresultaten aan de projectleiding en klanten.

Dit breng je mee

  • afgeronde MBO4 opleiding in een technische richting
  • VCA VOL, NEN3140 en NEN1010 of bereid dit te behalen

Contractmanager Sprinkler Services

Dit ga je doen

Vanuit onze vestiging in Roden ben je verantwoordelijk voor het preventief en correctief onderhoud van sprinklerinstallaties en zorg je voor de naleving van de servicecontracten. Als Contractmanager speel je een cruciale rol in het waarborgen van de operationele continuïteit en kwaliteit van onze dienstverlening op het gebied van brandblussystemen.

Jij bent de schakel tussen de klant en ons uitvoerend team, bestaande uit technici en servicecoördinatoren/werkvoorbereiders. Als eerste aanspreekpunt voor de klant beheer je meerdere sprinkler servicecontracten. Je technische kennis van sprinklersystemen en commercieel inzicht zijn hierbij essentieel. Daarnaast werk je nauw samen met het team dat verantwoordelijk is voor de modificaties en projecten op het gebied van sprinklers, om zo integrale beveiligingsoplossingen te bieden. Dit maakt onderdeel uit van de gespecialiseerde afdeling Fire Safety & Security, die zich richt op totaaloplossingen voor brandveiligheid en beveiligingstechnieken.

Verder bestaan je werkzaamheden uit het

  • beheren en optimaliseren van sprinkler servicecontracten bij onze klanten
  • aansturen van het uitvoerende team, waaronder technici en servicecoördinatoren/werkvoorbereiders
  • bewaken van de continuïteit en het financiële succes van jouw contractportefeuille
  • faciliteren van verbeterprocessen en afstemmen met operationeel management over benodigde middelen en resources
  • waarborgen van de kwaliteit van de dienstverlening en het bewaken van de voortgang

Responsable Technique Système Guerre Electronique (H/F)


Saviez-vous que chez Equans, nos équipes Ineo Defense interviennent sur des projets critiques et stratégiques de la Défense Nationale en concevant et produisant des solutions complexes, innovantes et uniques afin de répondre aux besoins stratégiques des forces armées ?

Ineo Défense compte 550 collaborateurs, situés sur 4 sites en France (Vélizy, Valbonne, Morlaix et Nîmes) qui évoluent dans un environnement qui favorise l’agilité et l’esprit entrepreneurial. Nos trois domaines stratégiques :

  • Communications critiques et renseignement, pour l’interception et l’analyse des informations émises par des moyens de radiocommunications et de radar ; 
  • Sécurisation d’environnements : sécurisation des systèmes opérationnels (radomes, shelters, sécurisation de sites, infrastructures et servitudes critiques) ;
  • Opérations sensibles. Gestion de flotte et d’équipements, soutien au déploiement opérationnel.

Dans le cadre du développement de ses activités, Ineo Defense recherche son futur Responsable Technique Système localisé à Vélizy Villacoublay (78) pour renforcer les équipes pluridisciplinaires d’ingénieurs spécialisés sur les projets de Guerre Electronique.

Votre challenge à nos côtés: 

  • Conception et architecture de systèmes complexes: Vous définirez les spécifications techniques et les architectures de systèmes de guerre électronique et de communication radio, en intégrant les dernières avancées technologiques.
  • Coordination d'équipes techniques: Vous animerez et coordonnerez des équipes d'ingénieurs spécialisés dans différents domaines (traitement du signal, électronique, radiofréquences, logiciel...).
  • Suivi des offres et des projets: Vous assurerez le bon déroulement des offres et projets, de la phase proposition au développement et à la qualification, en garantissant le respect des coûts, des délais, de la qualité et de la satisfaction Client.
  • Veille technologique: Vous identifierez les nouvelles technologies et les tendances du marché pour anticiper les besoins futurs.

L'aventure vous tente ?

  • Diplômé (e) d’un master, d’une école d’ingénieur ou d’un doctorat, vous disposez d’une expérience professionnelle de plus de 10 ans dans la réalisation d’études de conception ou d’exécution et/ou l’architecture dans le domaine de la guerre électronique ou des radiocommunications.
  • Vous connaissez les cycles de conception et de développement de systèmes complexes, et le développement logiciel embarqué.
