Business Development Director

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Director to support and grow our decarbonisation consulting business.

Our Carbon Shift consulting business is focussed on the delivery of realisable climate action and net zero plans and is supported by delivery capability in heat decarbonisation, regeneration, Facilities Management, Project delivery, EV’s, smart buildings and renewables. Carbon Shift has developed a strong expertise and client base around net zero and energy transition and is now moving expand this offer into offering solutions to the broader climate adaptation and resilience challenge.

Key activities

The BDD will be accountable for working with the Carbon Shift MD and wider team to develop a targeted sales plan that addresses the needs of targeted internal and external customers. This will require collaborative shaping of the offer to align with delivery and should include markets, channels proposition development. The role will require:

  • Active engagement in field sales with the existing customer base to communicate and close CS services as a supporting offer in new and existing contracts.
  • Engagement with account management staff and the wider sales team to promote and enable access to ECS services.
  • Development and execution of an external campaign for targeted market segments with new customers. This is the priority area of growth.
  • Leading the development and closure of proposals and presentations for independent consulting work and account support to major contracts with respect to the core FM and projects offer
  • Liaising with the heads of consulting groups to develop specific offers that align with client needs
  • Managing a sales pipeline for the consulting business and co-ordinating this with operational consulting teams, to include prospecting, pipeline and Firm Order.
  • Presenting to broader management teams and creating a network with other sales professionals in the UK and globally.
  • Ensuring that any further delivery opportunity is transitioned into pipeline for the wider business (e.g. capital project delivery)
  • Achieve growth with existing customers and those forming part of secured orderbook in line with Medium Term Plan (MTP)/ Business Plan
  • Lead bids to contract close and ensuring effective handovers to operational teams so that contracts successfully realise or exceed the profitability forecast at the bid stage
  • Lead opportunities through internal Governance, ensuring compliance with all governance processes at all times
  • Lead customer/ client engagement throughout the proposal period with support from subject matter experts
  • Provide information and updates to internal reporting processes, including the Customer Relationship Management (salesforce) system, as required so that the Executive teams are regularly informed on bid progress, solution development and our competitive positioning

Skills, qualifications & experience

  • Knowledge and evidenced experience of Sales pursuit, Bid development and Marketing processes, challenging the status quo and creating a compelling vision.
  • The ability to network and create business conversations
  • Solid experience within Business Development roles in an energy/environmental advisory services context
  • Experience of both the UK public and private sector bidding environment
  • A degree in business or a technical field

Multi Site Caretaker


Equans is looking for a Multi Site Caretaker to join our team across all Rotherham Schools Venture House S60 1RF, on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £26,436.80 per annum and benefits package.

Shift Pattern: Any 8 hours between 6:00am - 22:00pm Monday - Friday.

What will you deliver?

  • The role provides support across several education and leisure facilities where EQUANS provide services such as: maintenance; cleaning; porterage; and maintenance of the external site, including preparations for seasonal changes to the outside areas.
  • This role expects you to be a key holder and to deliver the full range of caretaking, maintenance, and ad-hoc cleaning duties, with responsibility of securing the site. You should have a keen eye for detail and be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of DIY skills.

M&E Technician


Equans is looking for an M&E Technician (Mechanical bias) to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary banding, dependent upon qualifications and experience and benefits package. Ideally we require candidates that are Level 3 qualified.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of maintenance tasks, including both Authorised Person (AP) and Competent Person (CP) duties, ensuring that all mechanical systems within the healthcare environment are operating safely and efficiently.

What will you deliver?

  • Carry out routine mechanical PPM on HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, and other building services equipment
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with regulatory standards and meet healthcare requirements
  • Perform corrective maintenance and emergency repairs on mechanical systems and equipment as required
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth operation of vital healthcare facilities
  • Diagnose and clear blockages in plumbing, drainage, and other systems that may impact the functionality of healthcare services
  • Act as an Authorised Person for specific systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and carrying out works in accordance with safe systems of work
  • Carry out CP duties across mechanical systems, ensuring that systems are safely isolated, maintained, and tested
  • Participate in an on-call rota, providing emergency support during out-of-hours periods (1 week per month)

Who are you?

  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, ideally within a healthcare or critical infrastructure environment

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to implement safe working practices

Assistant Estimator


Equans is looking for an Assistant Estimator to join the team on a hybrid basis. This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

Under the guidance from the Senior and Principal Estimator you will be producing competitive services-based tenders that support the mobile engineering business to secure our chosen opportunities and helping to achieve our growth ambitions, including both the retention of current business and the acquisition of new business through commercially sound and competitive pricing; actively seeking innovative pricing solutions to assist the bid team in developing winning submissions. The role will also assist the wider estimating team by analysing data, undertaken numerical checks, preparation of pricing documents and general support.

What will you deliver?

  • Assist and prepare costings for tender submissions in consultation with the Bid Manager and operational teams. Manipulate, assess, and evaluate client provided bid data, and work closely with internal BD team to ensure its provenance, accuracy, and interpretation understood and appropriately considered in developing the bid solution
  • Build relationships, maintain regular personal contact with internal & external stakeholders, customers, and partners to improve the exchange of information, knowledge, and expertise to enable improved modelling of opportunities
  • Prepare commercial/pricing updates for mid-bid reviews, divisional sign off, Black Hat reviews and sign off, including caveats and assumptions
  • Support the procurement activity, working closely with procurement teams to provide supply chain pricing
  • Contribute business improvement / efficiency ideas and pricing initiatives

Dit ga je doen als Uitvoerder Infra Projecten

Als uitvoerder ben jij het aanspreekpunt op onze projectlocaties. Je stuurt dagelijks je team aan en zorgt ervoor dat het werk veilig en volgens planning verloopt. Of het nu gaat om een zonnepark, een laadplein of een brug die op afstand wordt bediend – jij houdt het overzicht.

Je verdeelt het werk en motiveert je collega’s. Je bewaakt de kwaliteit en werkt veel buiten op locatie. Je schakelt dagelijks met werkvoorbereiders, engineers en projectleiders. Je woont bouwvergaderingen bij en zorgt voor een duidelijke administratie. Ook stem je af met klanten, leveranciers en onderaannemers. Zo werk je samen aan veilige, duurzame en slimme oplossingen.

 

Jouw werkomgeving

Je gaat aan de slag bij het team Projecten Noord van Equans. Vanuit Roden werk je aan afwisselende infra-opdrachten in de regio. Je komt in een hecht team dat staat voor kwaliteit, veiligheid en samenwerking. Er is volop ruimte om mee te denken, initiatief te tonen en jezelf te ontwikkelen.

 

Dit breng je mee

  • een mbo-opleiding op niveau 4 (of niveau 3 met relevante ervaring)
  • ervaring als leidinggevend monteur of uitvoerder in infra of industrie
  • rijbewijs B
  • je spreekt goed Nederlands

Servicetechnicus Elektrotechniek


Werken in het “Hartje van het Land” dat is wat jij gaat doen als Servicetechnicus bij Equans. Jij word verantwoordelijk voor het beheer en onderhoud van elektrotechnische installaties bij toonaangevende klanten in de regio Utrecht. Denk hierbij aan ziekenhuizen, scholen, productiebedrijven en kantoren. Bij ons is geen dag het zelfde, zoek jij deze uitdaging? Dan zoeken wij jou!

Dit ga je doen als Servicetechnicus Elektrotechniek

Als Servicetechnicus pak je alle soorten werkzaamheden op binnen je expertise op het gebied van beheer en onderhoud die voortvloeien uit contracten. Daarom heb je een brede interesse in de techniek, hou je van aanpakken en draag je zorg voor een veilige werkomgeving. Als teamspeler van ons zeer gemotiveerde onderhoudsteam ben je een belangrijke persoon in de voortdurende ontwikkeling van deze afdeling

Je werkzaamheden bestaan uit onder andere uit:

  • zelfstandig onderhouden, inspecteren en het uitvoeren van reparaties aan (complexe) installaties
  • opbouwen en onderhouden van een goede relatie met jouw klant
  • ontzorgen van je klant en zorgen voor een maximale klanttevredenheid
  • zorgdragen voor een goede verslaglegging van de uitgevoerde werkzaamheden
  • zorgdragen dat de nieuwe en bestaande installaties voldoen aan de geldende wettelijke bepalingen, kwaliteitsnormen en veiligheidseisen

Dit breng je mee

  • een afgeronde MBO-3 opleiding in een (elektro)technische richting
  • enkele jaren ervaring als Servicemonteur of Servicetechnicus
  • aanvullende vakgerichte opleidingen op het gebied van elektrotechniek (o.a. NEN3140, elektrisch schakelen en SCIOS)
  • technische kennis van het: service-, beheer- en onderhoudsproces, onderhoudsconcepten en assetmanagement
  • mensgerichte persoonlijkheid die op een positieve manier wil investeren in zichzelf en zijn of haar klanten
  • bereidheid tot het draaien van consignatiediensten

Werkvoorbereider E&I


Ben jij de Werkvoorbereider E&I die energie haalt uit het voorbereiden van innovatieve gas- en energieprojecten? In Noord-Nederland kun jij je talent inzetten bij complexe installaties die bijdragen aan verduurzaming en betrouwbaarheid.

Dit ga je doen als Werkvoorbereider E&I

In een dynamische omgeving werk je samen met jouw team aan de voorbereiding van projecten voor gasverwerkende installaties, compressor- en mengstations en CO₂-infrastructuur. Verduurzaming staat centraal, bijvoorbeeld in waterstofblend-toepassingen en emissiearm onderhoud. Jij zorgt ervoor dat alles op rolletjes loopt. Zo:

  • verzorg je de volledige werkvoorbereiding en ben je het aanspreekpunt voor klanten, leveranciers en collega's
  • regel je de juiste materialen, zoals leidingwerk, sensoren en meet- & regelsystemen
  • calculeer je wijzigingen, verwerk je meer- en minderwerk en bewaak je het projectbudget
  • stuur je subcontractors aan en bewaak je de voortgang en kwaliteit
  • volg je projecten vanaf de engineering tot en met de inbedrijfstelling
  • waarborg je kwaliteit, veiligheid en milieunormen en communiceer je helder met alle betrokkenen
