EQUANS is looking for Shift Mechanical Engineer on a permanent basis. This would be based in Salford for our Media City contract. This would be a shifts role, consisting of 4 on, 4 off (2 days 7am-7pm & 2 nights 7pm-7am). On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

We have an opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineer to work on the Media City, Manchester contract.
A Sound mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems is essential.
• Experience of working on Commercial Hot and Cold-water Systems is essential. 
• Approved and formal apprenticeship served in Plumbing/Mechanical skill area required or relevant and practical experience within a similar industry
• Sound awareness of risk assessment & working safely with equipment
• Complete all statutory and non-statutory maintenance in accordance with set maintenance schedules and contract SLA’s
• Complete reactive works in line with contract SLA’s
• Sound knowledge of Health & Safety including ISO 9001 & 14,001
• Ability to measure, work to plans ( method statements), read technical diagrams and communicate, present and report technical information as appropriate to trade/ skill

Impact:  
Working to a high standard of Building Maintenance for various FM Companies, we require a fully reliable Mechanical Engineer who can work on their own initiative or within a team environment. Produce high quality reports of their findings along with estimates, for producing quotations. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS on site so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others is required.

Role Overview


We are looking for a dedicated Electrician to join our team in Liverpool, providing quality electrical maintenance services across our North West operations. As an Electrician, you will ensure that all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive work is completed to company and client specifications, protecting the safety, functionality, and efficiency of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake repair and maintenance of electrical systems, with all works precisely documented in real-time on a PDA and CAFM system.

  • Keep plant room condition in a clean and tidy state.

  • Supervise and monitor sub-contractor works when on site.

  • Ensure safety at all times by planning and working to Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA).

  • Run and manage a Permit to Work system, in accordance with Equans' health, safety, and environmental policies.

  • Be on the on-call rota and attend breakdowns outside working hours.

  • Conduct audits of vehicles and equipment to make sure they are in safe working order.

  • Provide ongoing input to improvement activities and give feedback on potential plant or equipment improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Industry-recognised qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).

  • Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship trade-qualified Electrician experience.

  • Edition 18 qualification is a must.

  • Experience in fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical installations.

  • Legionella awareness and Asbestos awareness (desirable, but training can be provided).

  • MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) Licence and First Aid certificate (desirable, but not essential).

  • Competency in the allocated use of computers and CAFM systems for logging and reporting work.

  • Clean driving licence and willingness to volunteer for the out-of-hours standby rota.

Key activities

  • Produce programmes, phasing and logistics plans, methodologies, and delivery strategies at tender stage and during construction
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project and / or Primavera Software.
  • Produce the project preliminaries book at tender stage and monitors the same during construction with the project team
  • Assist in the production and submission of tenders for various clients under the direction of the Construction Director
  • Undertake plant, delivery and resourcing analysis
  • Produce commissioning programmes / O&M programmes 
  • Proactively engage with internal and external designers, the supply chain and project teams to agree and manage delivery plans
  • Actively keep pace with industry innovations to bring about added value to bids and delivery 
  • Develop a data base of construction outputs for use by the company 
  • Support the project team in delivering the plan
  • Use a variety of presentation techniques, mediums and forums to communicate the delivery plan

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Relevant industry experience civil infrastructure or building services projects
  • A minimum of HNC/HND in relevant discipline
  • Experience in using Primavera
  • Be familiar with planning activity within construction projects, especially relating to NEC3 (and upcoming NEC4) suite of contracts
  • First class communication skills – both written and verbal – able to relate to both colleagues and clients
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project) and database experience

Gas Contract Supervisor


Equans are recruiting for a Gas Supervisor to be based in Kingstanding, Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 42 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The role of the Gas Supervisor is to directly manage a team of operatives across all trades in any workstream across the contract, to ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, to a high-quality standard, with exceptional customer care. What will you deliver?

  • Manage effectively all working at Height carried out by your team including scaffold inspection and management.
  • Carry out face fit training for your team and ensure all records are kept up to date.

  • Manage absence in line with the policy, update HR.net and sickness tracker with all cases.
  • Carry out investigations, prepare investigation reports in line with the disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure your teams have the correct tools, equipment, and materials to carry out their work including imprest kit management in vehicles.
  • Manage your team’s productivity, including holding meetings, record actions and when necessary, implement performance improvement plans.
  • Carry out pre, post and in progress inspections (MSV) and record findings on AIMS.
  • Hold one 2 one meetings and PDR meetings with your teams
  • Ensure your team carry out all mandatory training and support any ongoing training for team members including apprentices.
  • Auditing Subcontractors and operatives in respects to quality and compliance to Statutory Regulations and company procedures and record on AIMS.
  • Support recruitment of operatives including carrying out interviews, induction and ordering of tools and equipment, uniforms, and ID.
  • Ensure Non-Conformances are identified, reported and Corrective Actions implemented, monitored and trends identified and record on AIMS
  • Manage the Annual leave for your team to avoid peaks and troughs and have a consistent workforce including Christmas and summer periods.

  • Manage subcontractors as required.
  • Ensure your team support the ECO rota to provide adequate cover for all shifts.

Als Projectleider BMI bij Equans Fire Safety & Security zorg jij ervoor dat jouw brandbeveiligingsprojecten van A tot Z soepel verlopen. Je houdt het overzicht, geeft leiding aan monteurs, werkvoorbereiders en onderaannemers en zorgt dat de installaties volgens planning, budget en de juiste veiligheidsnormen worden opgeleverd.

Jouw technische kennis, organisatievermogen en klantgerichte aanpak maken het verschil. Binnen deze en diverse rol is geen dag hetzelfde!

Jij en je team werken aan uitdagende en uiteenlopende projecten binnen de utiliteit en implementeert de nieuwste technieken op het gebied van branddetectie-, ontruiming- en brandmeldinstallaties. Dit omvat geavanceerde systemen voor vroegtijdige detectie van rook en brand, intelligente ontruimingsinstallaties die snel en veilig evacuatie mogelijk maken, en geïntegreerde brandmeldinstallaties die gekoppeld zijn aan gebouwbeheersystemen.

Je dagelijkse werk bestaat verder o.a. uit:

  • je begeleidt Brandmeld- en Ontruimingsinstallaties van ontwerp tot oplevering
  • je schakelt met opdrachtgevers, leveranciers en andere stakeholders
  • je zorgt dat projecten binnen de gestelde budgetten en planningen blijven
  • je borgt de naleving van normen als NEN 2535 en NEN 2575

Je verdeelt je tijd tussen kantoor en klantlocaties. Gemiddeld ben je 60% op kantoor bezig met planning, coördinatie en overleg en 40% op locatie om projecten te begeleiden en met klanten en monteurs af te stemmen. Thuiswerken is zeker mogelijk, afhankelijk van de projectfase en werkzaamheden.

Met jouw sterke communicatieve vaardigheden werk je goed samen met verschillende disciplines en stakeholders, terwijl je altijd het overzicht houdt en zorgt dat alles op tijd en binnen budget geregeld wordt. Beschik jij over het volgende profiel

  • je hebt minimaal mbo-4 werk- en denkniveau in een technische richting
  • ruime ervaring met leidinggeven, bij voorkeur als Projectleider of Werkvoorbereider in elektrotechnische of brandveiligheidsprojecten
  • je bent in het bezit van Projecteringsdeskundige Brandmeldinstallatie, of bereid om deze te behalen

Om deze projecten goed te kunnen realiseren zorg jij samen met jouw collega’s voor een top ontwerp van diverse gebouw gebonden HVAC-installaties zoals onder andere: verwarming, koeling en luchtbehandeling. Deze installaties ontwerp je in teamverband met 3 vaste collega Engineers en BIM-modelleurs.

Als Junior BIM Modelleur HVAC ben jij verantwoordelijk voor: 

  • tekenen en clashvrij modelleren van HVAC-installaties op de best mogelijke manier.Vaak komt het voor dat je alleen een schets krijgt van waaruit je gaat werken of je werkt vanuit een bestek
  • uitwerken van plattegronden, details, doorsnedes en opstellingstekeningen
  • verzorgen van afstemming met collega’s van andere disciplines en van de uitvoering. Samen zorgen jullie ervoor dat de collega’s weten op welke wijze de projecten gerealiseerd moeten worden en onderhoud je contact over het opnemen van revisiewerk
  • systematisch ordenen van projectdocumenten en tekeningen in een digitaal archief

Wat je gaat doen als Lead Engineer Elektrotechniek

In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor de engineering en aansturing van een multidisciplinair ontwerpteam. Je werkt samen met tekenaars, BIM modelleurs en engineers, en vertaalt de wensen van de klant naar concrete, duurzame ontwerpen. Concreet omvat jouw rol:

  • Opleiding en specialisatie: HBO werk- en denkniveau in Elektrotechniek met een specialisatie in energietechniek.
  • Ervaring: Aantal jaren werkervaring als elektrotechnisch engineer, waarbij je betrokken bent geweest bij het ontwerpen van elektrische installaties in de utiliteit.
  • Technische kennis: Grondige kennis van alle elektrotechnische disciplines, kabelberekeningen (INTELEC) en ervaring met het werken volgens elektrotechnische normen, documenten en tekeningen.
