We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Exhibits Officer to join our Facilities Management team working at the police station in Lewisham. This is a permanent full-time position working 8 hours per day between 07:00 and 17:00 (on a rotating shift pattern), Monday to Friday with a one hour unpaid lunch break
The role:
- Reporting to the Facilities and Services Manager
- To receive and record all items of property requiring safe storage as well as retrieval of the items when requested in a timely fashion
- To ensure that the stores are kept clean and tidy at all times and to make arrangements with officers to destroy or dispose of stored items which are no longer required
- To ensure strict adherence to MPS property manual and procedures
- Working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day between 07:00 and 17:00 (on a rotating shift pattern), Monday to Friday with a one hour unpaid lunch break
The person:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a diligent customer service attitude
- Will have excellent record keeping and problem solving skills
- Able to work independently and in a proactive manner, with the ability to manage own time to ensure activities are completed within agreed time frames
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
- Subject to security vetting by the Metropolitan Police

Construction Site Manager
EQUANS is looking for a Construction Site Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a 12-month FTC at Sandwell and Birmingham Hospitals. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Responsible for the supervision of sub-contractors delivering a wide range of project works. Responsible for the efficient use of resources and ensuring that, job planning, appointments, materials, plant and equipment are effectively utilised and continuously improved in accordance with service delivery targets. The Project Site Manager is also responsible for the management of Construction health & safety on all projects and the necessary completion, snagging and handover of all projects.
The principal responsibility of the Project Site Manager is to achieve the target contributions by managing the contract/project in accordance with the contract documents and programme. Responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality. To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy, CDM and ensure all employees reporting to you do the same and being responsible for ensuring that SHEQ requirements are upheld to the highest of standards at all times.
The Project Site Manager will promote teamwork at all times, with commitment to the provision of an efficient and effective customer focused service.
The key objectives of the Site Manager are:
•Compiling all pre-start information.
•Provide structured approach to project planning; to include health and safety, execution methods and quality.
•Provide project & weekly programme information and KPI’s and feed back into monitoring and reporting systems.
•Provide project direction, focus and consistency across the team & project.
•Supervision of the Site Team in all areas.
•Health and Safety Issues are addressed.

Project Manager
EQUANS is looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis at Sandwell and Birmingham Hospitals. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Manage the site delivery of small Fabric, M&E Lifecycle & Variation projects as part of the project delivery team on site, to manage site design, contract management, financial management, H&S, site management, snagging and hangover of every project, as required.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage works implementation to ensure projects are delivered safely; on time; on budget and are to a high standard from inception to final account stage.
•Ensure the project pipeline is managed in accordance with all contractual KPI requirements, while complying with Equans internal governance processes.
•Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures.
•Full responsibility for all finances in relation to the allocated projects, including the correct invoicing of, WIP management, implementation of Contractual documents and monthly finance reporting to the business.
•Oversee the co-ordination of operatives, sub-contractors and suppliers in a planned and controlled manner ensuring efficiency and minimising costs.
•Complete the contract negotiation process; project costs and delivery timescales; identifying possible conflict and problem solving as required.
•Act as a point of contact, managing relationships with all stakeholders, consultants, and service providers, with emphasis on client satisfaction and business excellence.
•Implement and comply with Equans policies and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice within Equans including regular safety inspections within the allocated business area.
•Ensure that all works are being carried out in compliance with: Statute, Contract Requirements, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s).
•Participate in regular Project meetings with the Project Company & Trust.
•Completion of CDM duties as Principal Designer & Principal contract and review of risk assessments for on-site work activities.
•Managing and resolving incidents of non-compliance across the project in line with Contract and Company Requirements.
•Produce progress and other reports, as requested, to a high standard.
•Requirement to work within a 24hr Hospital environment (as appropriate).
•Support/cover the other teams’ members from time to time.
•Attend as required Health & Safety forums with staff and the client on a regular basis.
•Responsible for bringing to the attention of the Senior Project Manager and all Senior Management any unsafe working conditions, working practices, unsafe plant or equipment encountered during the execution of duties including reporting on the company AIM’s system.
•To attend and participate in Training courses as required and to undertake any training in the future as may be required to ensure the duties of the post are effectively carried out or as required by the Senior Management Team.
•Responsible for maintaining comprehensive compliance records.
•Any other duties deemed required by the Senior Project Manager.
Impact:
The team will typically be delivering 50 projects at any one time ranging from £1k to 1M+, comprising small works, minor maintenance projects to larger and more complex lifecycle and capital works. Projects are run to tight and pre-determined timescales within the constraints of the site contract.
•Detailed discussions with Trust end-users and careful planning are required to ensure that works proceed with the minimum of disruption to building users.
•Translate, from the client project scope, the preparation of specifications, design drawings and tender documents, in full compliance with all statutory requirements including CDM and Health & Safety.
•Ensuring snagging and defects are managed and closed-out within the specified contractual limits.
•Supervising contractors, liaising with clients and other company departments during projects where necessary.
•Monitor working procedures, workmanship, and performance of contractors with particular regard to health and safety. Consult closely with Technical Services, and Estates Maintenance Managers to assist with monitoring and performance measurement.

The individual will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to a changing workload and business imperatives while able to establish excellent working relationships within the existing team and clients alike. Qualifications or Required Experience:
•Experience operating in the public and / or private FM sector with a demonstrable track record of directly managing small Fabric, M&E Project works within a large and complex estate is essential, preferably within a Healthcare environment.

•Organised communicator with strong inter-personal skills.
•High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate with knowledge of CAFM systems and all Microsoft Office packages. Computer-literate (MS Office based Products: Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint) with a sound knowledge of CAFM/estates and project management systems.
•Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications, Fire and Building Regulations Approvals.
•A sound knowledge of building and engineering services design and associated British Standards.
•A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act; Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements.
•Must be able to manage people/contractors, be self- motivating, able to work on own initiative, liaise and delegate effectively with staff operating in a multi-disciplinary environment.
•A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and other relevant statutory requirements will be required.
Desirable:
•HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a building/construction or engineering discipline.
•Site Mangers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
•Experience & knowledge of the duties under CDM
•Experience & knowledge of Passive Fire Protection (PFP) requirements.

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team providing FM maintenance at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
The role:
- Will report to the Operations Manager
- To supervise the mechanical/electrical/building trade staff and specialist contractors
- Ensure the immediate and proper allocation of work, and the completion of such work in accordance with the performance monitoring system and to client satisfaction.
- Use of the Maximo CAFM system.
- Order materials and services as required within agreed delegation level and certify satisfactory delivery/completion.
- Monitor trade staff performance, time-keeping and sickness in accordance with Company Policy.
- Provide estimates for quoted works, site measurements, cost control information and maintain necessary records for effective administration as directed.
- Required to undertake training and qualify as Authorised Person and/or Competent Person if required.
- Requirement to work with tools as necessary day to day, during emergencies and supporting staff
- Working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. You will be required to participate in a call-out rota system to assist the company in responding to emergency situations.
The person:
- Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; electrical trade qualifications are desirable
- Will have significant experience in a building services environment with comprehensive mechanical and electrical knowledge ideally within a hospital environment
- Will be a team player ideally with supervisory / management experience
- Will be client-focused with a delivery oriented and ‘can-do’ approach to work
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and application of the various trade groups to be managed i.e. building works, mechanical and electrical engineering

BMS Project Manager
Equans is looking for a Project Manager to join our Equans Digital Business on a permanent, full-time basis to deliver critical system upgrades / improvements to the Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure for our clients in the UK
In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become ‘Smart enabled’, meaning we can then introduce further value across sites via our IoT solutions; driving social, economic and environmental benefits to portfolio of sites and more importantly people operating and living within them.
In relation to scale, individual projects will range from £200k to £3m worth of works with multiple projects ‘live’ at any point in time.
Key activities
Smart Building have a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades / enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education & government sectors - across the country. In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become ‘Smart enabled’, meaning we can then introduce further value across sites via our IoT solutions; driving social, economic and environmental benefits to portfolios of sites and more importantly people operating and living within them.
You will provide leadership, direction, guidance, constructive challenge and coaching to Project Engineering and supporting project team roles in relation to project approach, activities, risks, issues and general management to ensure each task is delivered on time and on budget as a minimum.
In relation to scale, each project ranges from £1 – 2m worth of works and there are multiple projects available as part of a 3-4 year rolling programme so helping to define and grow the team to support will also be a significant part of the role.
- Multi stakeholder engagement to deliver the agreed project outcome, while adhering to our, customer and end user policy and procedures.
- Key client and End user point of escalation, being the key Senior person responsible for the project delivery.

- Schedule and run project resources

BMS Pre-Commissioning Engineer
Equans is looking for a Pre-Commissioning Engineer within our Equans Digital business unit providing Smart Building / IoT solutions within the public and private sector.
Smart buildings currently deliver project works ranging from £10k - £1.5m in singular size + variations via an evolving blend of inhouse delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, this role will be paramount in helping to define shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably.
Key activities
- Support the pre commissioning and the installation of BEMS and control systems in line with customer design requirements and those outlined by the Project Engineer / Commissioning Engineer, within agreed timescales.
- Support and maintain a collaborative working environment with internal & external customers and stakeholders including the more junior resources that may require buddying support
- Validate the software strategies and graphics created by the dedicated applications resource
- Set up baseline wiring to points, material installation & checks / balances before we turn a panel live
- Provide technical support to other trades and sub-contractors
- Carry out trouble shooting to diagnose system defects.
- Involvement with customer’s validation processes and execution as part of Commissioning works and Project handover procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health and safety standards on-site
- Accurately report progress to the Project Engineer to maintain communicational commitments
Skills, qualifications & experience
- Will need solid experience operating as a pre commissioning Engineer within the BEMS & Building Controls industries in the UK marketplace with strong technical understanding of industry leading systems including Siemens, Trend, Tridium systems as a minimum.
- You’ll also have experience in pre-commissioning BEMS and Control systems of Siemens PX range, Trend IQ4 range of controls and / or Tridium.
- You’ll have experience of Siemens Desigo CC and Trend IQ Vision including full integration of M-Bus, Modbus, Bacnet protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and report writing are essential to maintain strong relationships with all team members and customers.
- A recognised construction qualification (NVQ Level 5, HNC / HND or higher in a Construction, Infrastructure or engineering related discipline such as building, electrical and/or mechanical service)
