HVAC Contract Manager


Equans is looking for an HVAC Contract Manager (mobile) to join our team in N/W Yorkshire on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Full accountability for the financial aspects of contracts/accounts including P&L. WIP and Debt – Profitability is a main driver within this post to ensure we are effective and efficient on profit returns to the Business Unit
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures across the stakeholder groups
  • Ensure that all risks relating to (SHEQ) safety, health, environment and quality are effectively managed through the use of RAMS, PPE, training and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees, clients and end users.
  • Develop effective working relationships with operational personnel, business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors to improve contractual operational performance.
  • Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with the Client and related Client organisations.
  • Manage the client service delivery, which is spread over a number of locations, by ensuring all available resources work in a collaborative manner.
  • Agree and maintain a clear business plan for the appointed contract.
  • Set, monitor and control SLA’s and KPI’s seeking opportunities to provide added value across the delivery stakeholders.
  • Ensure mobile personnel manage the contract to the agreed SLA’s and KPI’s as they apply to technical and related services.
  • Work with the mobile teams in planning, implementing and monitoring the standards of all works relating to the PPM schedule and all reactive works
  • Review contract performance monthly with the Regional Manager and agree future plans.
  • Develop and monitor direct reports through training and regular reviews.
  • Deliver training and corporate briefings.
  • Drive successful contract negotiations and business improvement initiatives

Who are we looking for?

  • Technical Background with supporting HVAC qualifications. NVQ Refrigeration level 3 or Equivalent HVAC qualification
  • H&S Qualification / M&E Qualifications Previous contract management experience
  • Good knowledge of building services and legislation
  • Good experience and track record in working in Facilities Management
  • Must have the ability to think clearly in extreme circumstances.
  • Technical background essential with Asbestos awareness
  • H&S Qualification / M&E Qualifications

With a hard line into EQUANS Digital & Energy Services Divisional Finance Director, and a dotted line into EQUANS Digital & Energy Services Managing Director for Services, this role is key on the SLT for the Services section of the division. This role is the most senior Finance role in D&ES Services, and will work with the MD and DFD to establish and maintain financial and management procedures, whilst formulating strategic plans for the newly formed Services section of the D&ES Division.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and governance requirements and to provide financial advice, guidance and support to colleagues to enable them to make good decisions and meet business objectives.  Produce insights and clarity around data and performance, to help drive the business to achieve potential in both the short and medium term.

To integrate, lead and develop the finance team to become high performing, and enable the smooth running of all finance & commercial processes, including procurement and accounts payable, cash collection and accounts receivable.  Ensure RACI is embedded working effectively, ensuring that Finance can remain independent and that accounts are produced in line with the internal Trading Framework. Support and influence BD, ensuring fundamentals are observed, and that delas are structured in the right way and in-line with pricing strategy. 

Key activities:

 

  • Key member of D&ES Services SLT, playing an active and key role in setting strategy and vision
  • Business partner to MD, provide thought leadership, act as business conscience, challenge the status quo
  • Monitor business performance and provide accurate and timely financial reporting and insights/guidance to D&ES Services MD, D&ES Divisional FD
  • Ensure alignment with Divisional and UKBU strategy and agenda, ensuring that both Divisional and UKBU Finance requirements are met
  • Test the financial impact of proposed strategic objectives, validate the authenticity of forecasts and clarify the full impact of cost savings
  • Manage the financial reporting and administration of legal entities as required
  • Ensure optimisation of P&L performance, through driving revenue and cost optimisation initiatives, as well as ensuring accounting policy / accounting standards are understood, complied with and applied to best effect 
    • Drive forward understanding of key cost & income metrics to help better understand and drive business delivery models throughout D&ES Services
    • Control and review of overheads, including Cost of Sales overheads e.g. engineering and business development teams
    • Ability to navigate applicable accounting standards and EQUANS accounting policy with respect to revenue recognition for long term contracts and projects, and to support production of accounting notes and policies as required 
  • Work with management to identify, investigate and analyse potential operational improvements, including use of benchmarking to support insights
  • Drive continuous business improvement on all areas of D&ES Services to ensure best practice is achieved and shared across the division – ensure Finance processes are efficient and effective
  • Evaluate and financially approve in line with DLA new business opportunities, ensuring key risks and opportunities are understood and are within Division & BU risk appetite and reported as required, applying Transparency 2.0
  • Maintain and develop the area financial models / including all product development and bid models
  • Manage & develop through coaching and mentoring the finance team to ensure timely and accurate accounting, financial planning, analysis and reporting, and the delivery of special projects. 
  • Assist with coaching junior staff in financial and commercial awareness
  • Oversee the extension of credit to customers
  • Ensuring internal Group procurement systems and procedures are followed
  • Accountable for the preparation of the company budget and rolling forecasts, including monthly flash results, and monthly business performance reviews
  • Report on variances from the established budget and rolling forecasts, and the reasons for those variances
  • Accountable for the accuracy of D&ES Services Financial data in the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
  • Lead the preparation of monthly analysis of the financial statements including variance analysis providing explanations and business solutions to help mitigate the risks
  • Ensure robust and timely balance sheet and cash control, to optimise the cash position
  • Forecast cash flow positions and any related borrowing needs
  • Accountable for sales invoices and collection of outstanding debts in in conjunction with the Accounts team & the SSC
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including third party stakeholders and advisors

Who are we looking for?  

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent), with significant post qualification experience.
  • Experience in staff management and ability to set clear priorities and goals.
  • Two to four years of experience in a similar position; experience within the technology sector is preferred.
  • Highly numerate, work well with people, proactive in anticipating impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and have a very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods.
  • Strong experience in income statement analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables.
  • Able to tackle work output and projects to the highest standard whilst taking responsibility for the actions undertaken and bring them to fruition.
  • Constantly improving working methods and develop and roll out clear action plans and strategies.

Patient Services Team Leader


Equans is looking for a Patient Services Team Leader to join our team in Queen Alexandra Hospital, PO6 3LY, on a permanent full time basis working 35 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £25,899.34 per annum and benefits package.

Shift Pattern:

Two week rota working every other weekend with a day with a day off in the week.
Start time 12:00 to 19:30 with 1/2 an hour unpaid break.

What will you deliver?

The Team Leader will be report to the Facilities Management Team and be responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital and the supervision of Ward Housekeepers and Patient Service Assistants. Be able to discuss and liaise with Trust management and our customers in a proactive manner daily to ensure the contract specification is met in relation to Soft Services. To organise all daily tasks and work as a team with your fellow Team Leaders.

For this role you must undergo a DBS clearance therefore ability to pass is essential.

Resident Liaison Officer


Equans is looking for a Resident Liaison Officer to join our team in Silchester and surrounding areas. This is a full time, permanent role. On offer is a salary of £26,000 - £31,000 depending on skills and experience, company vehicle and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • To provide consultation and support to residents prior to, during and after works to their homes, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Managing the customer/resident journey whilst following the client and company engagement procedures
  • To develop effective working relationships with residents, clients, subcontractors, site-based personnel, local stakeholders, the local community and the Customer Care Department
  • Carry out choice events, consultation events and individual consultation with residents regarding future work.
  • Carry out individual resident inductions to include – introduction to Equans, the CLO/RLO
    process, scope of works, property and personal belongings condition surveys inclusive of photographs for evidence
  • Complete resident profiling and work with the site management team to implement effective working practices and discuss with the Client’s customer care team where appropriate
  • Agree access arrangements with the resident and book appointments to enable the work to their home
  • Organise and provide support needs: packing boxes, dust sheets, storage and other facilities
    as required and agreed.

Residence Manager


Equans is looking for a Residence Manager to join our team at the University of Brighton on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The post holder will be responsible for all operational staff for the University of Brighton’s accommodation which includes cleaners, waste management and ground maintenance. The Residence Manager will be responsible for budgets and performance of residence and cleaning services as well as maintaining a close liaison with the Client FM Function in ensuring day to day requirements of delivering the required services are met.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing soft services, ideally within the hospitality sector (hotels, student accommodation).

What will you deliver?

  • To deliver high quality cleaning services ensuring added value, increased productivity, and cost efficiencies wherever possible and encourage innovation from staff to provide on-going service improvements. To manage the output of the cleaning functions, ensuring high standards of customer service at all times
  • Responsible for administering and supervising the operation of the student residential experience, facilitating student / tenant issues in conjunction management support ensuring a positive, healthy, and safe living environment for students
  • To organise the student lettings in an effective and timely manner, coordinating student arrivals and departures ensuring rooms and facilities are provided in line with requirements, escalating issues as required to the relevant teams.  Ensure rooms are refreshed as required
  • To carry out regular audits to ensure all key performance and management indicators are met, and ensure operational delivery is high quality and compliant with statutory and contractual obligations
  • To co-ordinate all contract wide initiatives in respect to the summer lets that run across multiple work streams to deliver a timely, seamless client solution
  • To formulate suitable strategies, in conjunction with the university, to mobilise and meet the demands of service provision, ongoing improvement, and adaptation to changing processes and environments
  • To ensure all company deliverables that span multiple work streams are being delivered by all service managers to include safety tours, TBT delivery, training plans
  • To take full responsibility for the performance of direct reports, including working patterns, timekeeping, performance management, sickness absence, annual leave, preparation of rotas and improvement of knowledge of the services provided and any necessary training and/or development
  • To exercise financial and commercial controls in the management of expenditure and income within agreed budgets and take remedial action where appropriate.  To maximise profitability of operations and deliver ongoing cost savings
  • Assist in ensuring subcontractors are meeting client requirements and contract KPI’s/SLA’s
  • Manage the appropriate service work orders on Maximo

Quantity Surveyor


EQUANS are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to be based in Coleshill, Birmingham. This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company car and benefits package.

General Overview

To take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the designated project in order to control and maximise the company’s profitability, protect the companies legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Control all expenditure.
  • Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts.
  • To assist the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming
  • Continual use of the sub-contract data base
  • Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
  • To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting
  • Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts

Network Architect Lead (M/F - any location)


Key responsibilities :

The role reports to the SLS Infrastructure Engineering Lead who is based in France. The role will be part of the global IT team with IT colleague’s members across the globe.

Network Architect Lead for Shared Line of Service Infrastructure will lead the Architectural orientations and decisions for network & security infrastructure services for the EQUANS organisation, in alignment with the Corporate Architect and EQUANS strategy.

The role of Lead Architect is to drive Infrastructure direction for new services, improve the existing and ensure they are properly operated by partner “Business As Usual” (BAU) teams.

Architect Lead will manage the network experts responsible of products delivered by the SLS infrastructure, ensuring they can fully assume their role of product owners for their respective services under their responsibility. Experts can be localised worldwide in Equans organisation.

  • Managing Network Expertise Team
  • Prioritizing Network Team activities backlog
  • Defining objectives of each member of the Network team.
  • Organising communication with Network expertise team.
  • Defining SLS infrastructure Network & Security services
