Summary
A heavy duty cleaner is generally responsible for:
- heavy cleaning work including the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces;
- extraction of broadloom carpets and the cleaning of all surfaces that must be reached by ladder or scaffolding;
- collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin or compactor;
- snow removal using walk behind snow machines and manual shovel during winter.
Scope of duties & responsibilities
- Dry mops, wet mop (wash/scrub) and polishes hard surface floors. The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with hand held or walk behind buffing machines. In large open applications, automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions.
- Strips and finishes hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required.
- Transports garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor. The heavy duty cleaner will operate the compactor and will be responsible for cleaning the compactor at regular intervals.
- Transports maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and job sites.
- Removes snow from entrances and allocated sidewalks and puts fall protection down during winter.
- Cleans glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach.
- Cleans washroom floors including washing, stripping and finishing.
- Cleans stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required.
- Other duties that management may assign.
Additional Possible Responsibilities
- Washes walls, ceilings and dusts ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans at established intervals.
- Uses pile lifting equipment to restore certain types of carpet.
- Shampoos broadloom and uses extracting equipment to clean broadloom.
- Responsibilities may vary depending on the work site location.

- Attends all required health & safety training.
- Follows safe work instructions and assists in prevention.
- Complies with H&S regulations and company policies.

- Ability to clean over 12 foot windows utilizing a tucker pole and lift up to 50 lb. according to Worksafe BC quidelines.
- Good interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Ability to communicate in English to respond to customer inquiries as required.
- Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
- Ability to work with little supervision and solve problems independently.

A light duty cleaner is generally responsible for cleaning tasks in designated areas of a building, including dusting, dust mopping, cleaning washroom fixtures, spot cleaning, emptying and cleaning ashtrays and emptying and cleaning waste receptacles and vacuuming of carpets.
Scope of duties & responsibilities
- Dust all office furniture
- Empties and cleans waste paper baskets.
- Collects coffee cups and leaves them in a designated area.
- Spot cleans walls, partitions, light switches and doors, window sills.
- Cleans and polishes chrome and other polished metal surfaces.
- Cleans partition glass that is within arms reach.
- Cleans and disinfects washroom fixtures using mild chemicals.
- Dusts baseboards and low air vents.

- Vacuums cloth furniture at established frequencies.

Performance Manager
EQUANS are recruiting for a Performance Manager to be based in Oldham. This is a full-time fixed term contract for 6 months working 37 hours per week. On offer is a salary of up to £52,000 doe,car allowance, bonus and benefits package.
General Overview
This is a key role on the Manchester City Council Housing contract with a specific focus on driving performance within the teams.
This person will have the skillset to identify where lack of performance is occurring and the solution required to resolve. Multi Site Caretaker
Equans is looking for a Multi Site Caretaker to join our team across all Rotherham Schools, based in Venture House S60 1RF, on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £26,436.80 per annum.
Shift Pattern:
Any 8 hours between the hours of 6:00am – 22:00pm.
What will you deliver?

Compliance Operative
EQUANS are looking for a Compliance Operative based at Sizewell B power station working on behalf of EDF. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and Fire Extinguisher Inspections.
Other duties including Legionella L8 Testing for domestic water systems may be added to this role.
Impact:
Ensuring statutory compliance on site is a key deliverable for EQUANS at Sizewell B. As part of the Compliance team, you will be expected to work alongside colleagues but at times working on your own.
Works delivered must be carried out to a high standard at all times.
Complexity:
• Be able to follow written instructions in a methodical manner
• Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
• Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and
Environmental)
• Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work
Qualifications or Required Experience:
• Effective and decisive organisational skills with experience in introducing new ideas and approaches
within a team.
• Flexible approach to work and ability to work under own initiative.
• Sound understanding of H&S, Environment and QA procedures.
• IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications and other information management systems.
• Familiar with working on an industrial site is preferable
• Portable Appliance Test qualification (desirable)
• Fire Extinguisher Testing/Inspection Qualification (desirable)

Technical Assurance Manager
Equans is looking for a Technical Assurance Manager to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The purpose of the role is to be the Contract Interface for the management of all of the deliverable additional works and projects. Liaising with the project management and operational teams to ensure projects are on track and delivered as well as working with the delivery models whether capital, Lifecycle or Operationally are delivered.
The post holder will assist General Manager with commercial control over projects allocated to deliver margins identified. To work as part of the 2MS management team to build on reputation, capability and delivering efficiently.
The primary focus to ensure adherence to all applicable Built Environment and Project Agreement standards through diligent quality management and direct management of such project delivery as directed by General Manager.
What will you deliver?
- Accountable for the service delivery in accordance with business systems, such as quality assurance, environmental management system, financial systems, administration and policies. Particular attention to project close out documentation, room data sheets and contractual Hand back criteria
- Provide quality management through “Clerk of Work” techniques ensuring that all additional works and projects comply with standards and support the Project Agreement Hand back Criteria
- Ensure that all Additional/Project works are effectively closed out with suitable commissioning, O&M documentation and that the changes are interfaced back into the contract through document/drawing version control, asset change and specialist training
- Assist in the appointment of consultants as required, identification of applicable standards and adherence
- In accordance with contract forms, manage projects within the specified terms. Ensure risk is appropriately considered for sub-contract transfer or reviewed in conjunction with procurement / legal departments to agree risk share
- Provide urgent management information when required, weekly up-dates and monthly management information for pipeline, cashflow, budgetary and Gestion purposes
- To ensure staff and contractors maintain the highest standards of health and safety, professionalism and customer service at all times
- Promote effective and efficient co-ordination and integration between BYes management, SPV and client . Promote effective and efficient co-ordination and integration. Ensure projects delivered do not compromise PFI KPIs or render space unavailable
- Gather organise and provide information required for report purposes to meet all contractual obligations including KPI’s and maintain such records as are required by the contract. Work closely with supply chain on all appointment and monitoring activities
- Update site asset registers, insurance registers, service contract requirements and PPM schedules associated with all completed projects in conjunction with the BYes Maintenance Managers
- To maintain all project administrative activities on site including Quality Assurance procedures and all procedures associated with monitoring and recording contract performance as detailed within the contract
- To undertake Authorised / Responsible Person’s roles and participate in out of hours operational management team as part of Contract business continuity plan. (On-Call Rota)
- Manage supply chain in accordance with company policy and procedure ensuring formal performance feedback is provided to the procurement team
- To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans

Multiskilled Maintenance & Service Engineer
Equans is looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance and Service Engineer to join our team in Leicester on a Permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

What will you deliver?
- Deliver a wide range of planned & reactive maintenance works at the Freemens Common student accommodation site
- Provide initial response to all Reactive Maintenance requests during normal working hours and Out of Hours as part of the On-call Out of Hours Rota
- Quarterly shower head & hose cleaning in accordance with L8 requirements (full training will be provided)
- Continuous monitoring and maintenance of mechanical systems, fittings and plantrooms
- Weekly fire alarm testing on the student accommodation
- Bi-annual Fire Door inspections (full training will be provided), ensuring necessary adjustments are completed / faults & damage recorded accurately
