Summary
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the sourcing manager will be responsible for various procurement matters, including managing cost reductions and the request for proposal process in Canada and the United States. They will work in collaboration with assigned operational teams to support their strategic sourcing needs, maintain and develop business relationships with suppliers, and oversee the monitoring of needs with internal clients. The buyer will apply the policies, methods, and objectives established by the Purchasing Department of Equans Services, with the goal of delivering savings and value on the projects carried out.
Description
- Manage the request for proposal (RFP) process from preparation to contract signing for construction projects or other services;
- Negotiate with suppliers the pricing of services and products as well as the contracts;
- Conduct comparative cost analyses between contracts;
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement them proactively;
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Ensure strict compliance with contractual terms and conditions, with the ability to spot and address any deviations;
- Produce activity reports and work on key performance indicators;
- Apply group policies and procedures and participate in the improvement and communication of procurement processes within the organization;
- Implement action plans to deliver the strategic plan of the purchasing department (savings and added value)
- Advise and collaborate with operational teams;
- Work with the business development team during submissions;

- experience with implementing lean manufacturing processes and principles with a multi-functional team
- experience with the eight lean wastes of manufacturing, including how to address them and improve them
- experience facilitating Kaizen events using Kaizen methodology and lean tools to drive rapid, sustainable improvements in a manufacturing environment

What you will be doing
- Programming, fault finding and repair of fire panels, EWIS and other fire electrical equipment.

- Surveying customer premises and recommend fire protection and safety systems and equipment in accordance with Equans’ procedures and relevant Australian Standards.
- Ensure all portable fire equipment (extinguishers, hose reels, etc.) are inspected and tested.
- Participate in the on-call roster as required.
- Perform technical work on building services equipment in accordance with Equans safety, quality and customer standards ensuring that the company is meeting its objectives and budgets as required.
- Perform Maintenance or Onsite Reactive Maintenance to various, but not limited to, fire and electrical equipment.
- Respond to reactive and emergency works as required by the client.
- Complete maintenance to various equipment across the St Vincent’s Hospitals as required
- Mentor apprentices and provide technical onsite training.
- Establish and maintain relationships with our customers ensuring concerns and complaints are proactively addressed.
- Work closely with other colleagues and managers within our customers properties to foster a strong team environment.
- Maintain a current industry knowledge and keep self-updated with changes and advances in fire protection systems and technology.

Key Activities:
- Liaising with key all areas of the Energy team (Operations, Procurement, Commercial, Engineering/Commissioning) from design through to construction and commissioning across all major and minor projects, to establish and monitor responsibilities, specifications, and quality of all deliverables.
- Liaising with Contractors to instruct required content, format, and schedule of their deliverables. Ensuring Contractors deliver scope of works as per the agreed contract terms with regards to quality and addressing any defects. Receiving support from the Commercial team when required.
- Liaising with Clients to ensure document and quality requirements are achieved and to ensure that Client requirements remain in line with the contract
- Creating Quality, and Documentation Programme (sometimes known as PAC or project ‘close out’), to be integrated with the main project programme. Ensuring that suitable deadlines and reasonable Client requirements are agreed during contract negotiations and included in the project contract.
- Conducting meetings, communicating requirements, allocating responsibilities, and managing individuals, to the agreed dates of delivery.
- Specifying requirements of deliverables, based on experience from previous projects, Client requirements, and input from technical staff.
- Ensuring that Equans personnel and contractors produce the deliverables as required.
- Implement quality control procedure across all Energy schemes, including but not limited to ‘inspection test procedure’
- Recording budget and liaising with the commercial team for quality control and documentation process through project close out process. Allocating resources across project stages within budget requirements and provide data on spend for use in future project pricing and planning.
- Overseeing all Energy project deliveries document control including but not limited to; numbering, revision control, storage, and distribution of documents.
- Overall control and responsibility of document and quality control platform and implementation across the Energy Division of Bouygues Energies & Solutions.
- Reviewing deliverables for content and quality in relation to agreed requirements and general quality standards, in conjunction with technical staff.
- Tracking and distributing/actioning Client comments as necessary, instructing and obtaining updated deliverables as required, and providing responses to comments and updated deliverables to Client.
- Reporting on overall quality and project ‘close out’ performance against targets, and lessons learned, for business improvement on future projects.

- Document & Quality Management experience within an engineering or construction industry sector

Who are we looking for?
- Experience of similar multi stakeholder organisations/roles
- Suitable procurement, commercial and or financial / accounting or QS experience within a similar industry sector
- Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial / contracts.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to tailor approach based on the audience
- Financial acumen with an ability to analyse data and documentation with accuracy
- Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a procurement / commercial environment
- PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
- Able to Realise savings as per annual fiscal plan and other value that supports the growth and profitability of the company

Dit ga je doen als Projectleider
Als Projectleider ben je de spil in het projectteam. Met jouw kennis van processen en projectbeheersing zorg je ervoor dat alles soepel verloopt, van planning tot uitvoering. Je werkt nauw samen met diverse stakeholders en weet de communicatie tussen technische en niet-technische partijen moeiteloos te stroomlijnen.
Je bent een resultaatgerichte en proactieve leider die het overzicht bewaart en anderen weet te motiveren. Daarbij heb je ervaring binnen de waterindustrie en ben je in staat om snel te schakelen binnen een dynamische omgeving. Standplaats Hengelo heeft onze voorkeur, maar Zwolle of Roden is ook mogelijk.
Dit breng je mee
- minimaal hbo werk- en denkniveau, bij voorkeur in technische bedrijfskunde of een vergelijkbare richting. Ervaring in de waterindustrie is een grote pre
- kennis van projectbeheersing, processen en ervaring met UAV-GC-contracten
- secuur, punctueel, en procesmatig sterk. Je hebt ervaring met het structureren en beheren van processen, zoals document control
- een technische achtergrond is een voordeel, maar geen vereiste. Affiniteit met techniek is voldoende
- bereid om te werken vanuit Hengelo, Zwolle, of Roden

- een hbo-diploma in technische bedrijfskunde of een vergelijkbare opleiding
- ervaring in projectbeheersing, met focus op procesmatig werken en document control
- sterke affiniteit met procesbeheer. Je bent secuur en punctueel, en zorgt Ervoor dat processen efficiënt en nauwkeurig worden ingericht
- ervaring met Relatics of vergelijkbare systemen is een pre
- je bent een echte procesbewaker, houdt overzicht en bent zelfstandig inzetbaar
