Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (Decarbonisation & Energy Solutions)
EQUANS is looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (Decarbonisation & Energy Solutions) to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer plays a key role in the design, development, and optimisation of mechanical systems in decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects, principally sustainable retrofits. This role involves working across RIBA Stages 2-7, managing mechanical and energy systems design, including heat pumps, HVAC, and intermediate to complex ECMs (Energy Conservation Measures).
The position requires expertise in design management, technical leadership, and retrofit strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and funding requirements. The role also includes developing and leading a team of design engineers to support project delivery from concept to implementation.
What will you deliver?
Mechanical Design & Engineering
- Lead mechanical design and engineering solutions across RIBA Stages 2-4, providing ongoing technical support across RIBA 5 to 7, ensuring technical excellence and commercial viability.
- Design and integrate low-carbon energy solutions, including heat pumps, district heating, HVAC, and energy-efficient BMS.
- Develop and refine modelling tools to analyse mechanical system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with CIBSE guidelines, PAS 2035, MCS standards, and UK building regulations.
- Lead BIM implementation within mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and seamless integration.
- Oversee CAD model development and coordination, ensuring compatibility with multidisciplinary teams.
Design Management & Team Development
- Lead design coordination and management, integrating mechanical, electrical, and energy systems for seamless project execution.
- Lead technical reviews in support of the tendering teams and Project Teams.
- Develop and mentor a team of design engineers, fostering technical expertise and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate collaborative design workshops to enhance interdisciplinary coordination and innovation.
- Ensure best practices in design management, aligning with sustainability, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Project Delivery & Risk Management

Decarbonisation Strategy and Consultancy
- Lead the development of decarbonisation project planning for public and private sector clients, including local authorities, social housing associations, healthcare, and commercial organisations.
- Conduct technical and financial feasibility assessments for low-carbon technologies, including heat pumps, district energy systems, HVAC, BMS, and solar PV.
- Guide internal teams and external clients through funding applications (e.g., PSDS, Warmer Homes, GHNF, HNES), ensuring compliance and maximising success rates.
Funding & Commercial Viability
- Develop business cases and financial models to secure funding for large-scale mechanical and energy projects.
- Conduct techno-economic assessments to evaluate the financial and operational feasibility of mechanical solutions.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting heat decarbonisation and public sector funding eligibility.

Experience:
- Proven track record in leading mechanical design and decarbonisation initiatives.
- Extensive experience in building energy systems, heat networks, and low-carbon infrastructure.
- Expertise in HVAC design and design management, risk assessment, and project delivery.
- Experience with energy modelling and simulation software, such as IES, Energy Pro, PVsol, Termis, NEMO, Netsim, and Bluebeam.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng/BEng, or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with CIBSE or IMechE preferred.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design, retrofit, and decarbonisation projects.
- Retrofit Designer Certification is highly desirable.

Service Delivery Manager (Contract Administration)
Equans is looking for a Service Delivery Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The purpose of the role is to effectively manage the delivery of a professional on-site administrative support function and finance support to the contract. To ensure that the helpdesk service is leading in best practice to support all users both internal and external and fulfilling contractual requirements.
What will you deliver?
- Oversee the management of the commercial side of the contract ensuring invoicing carried out in a timely fashion, compiling of extra works packs, receipting of POs, generating reports and dealing with any other general commercial queries. Support all managers with additional works quotations and pricing schedules at the correct contract rates
- Oversee all contract administration in an efficient and streamlined manner – client requests and quotations, subcontractor and supplier quotations and management, raising of annual subcontractor POs and all other adhoc elements
- Assist the operations manager to provide an effective and efficient helpdesk facility, consistent with contractual requirements, for all workstreams at TNA log details on to the CAFM system, produce job tickets for operational staff and report job closure details back to the end user/system are being managed in the correct manner
- Have management oversight of the porterage and handyman activities to ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard. They must have a working knowledge obtain by formal training or evidencable experience in mechanical and electrical systems
- Oversee the management of webcycle queries, ensuring queries are maintained at a sub 5 weekly level. Support the contract in moving towards its objective of 80% auto-matching. Champion mobile receipting on contract
- To ensure purchasing of all stationary equipment ,staff uniforms and minor consumables are correctly procured
- To oversee collections and reporting of all waste activity on site
- Provide administrative support to senior management team including the data gathering and reporting for the monthly client report and Gestion Packs
- To oversee the delivery of the Excellence awards processes and procedures
- To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
- To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans

HR Administration Manager
Equans is looking for an HR Administration Manager to join our team in on a 24 month FTC basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The HR Administration Manager is accountable for the delivery of effective administration of the following processes (Hire to retire, employee vetting, employee data management and occupational health) by driving continuous improvement initiatives, through innovation and best practice to deliver quality, compliant procedures.
The role is responsible for leading a team of 21, supporting the EQUANS UK Business Unit key stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational people initiatives that maximise the performance of the Business.
The role reports into the Head of Employee Services, and is one of the three key leaders in Employee Services.
This role will deputise for the Head of Employee Services where applicable due to availability or business demand.
What will you deliver?
- Support the delivery of the UK Business Unit strategy and vision and related payroll projects.
- Responsible for the delivery of a great employee experience through HR Administration services to agreed SLA’s & KPI’s relating to current legislation and internal policies.
- Ensure adequate process controls and segregation of duties are in place, to support Cybersecurity, Ethics and GDPR.
- Address process failures with stakeholders and business leads, identifying root cause to ensure appropriate action plans are in place and followed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement liaising productively with HR & Central IT teams.
- Ensure all process documentation/desktop procedures are up to date and understood by team members.
- Handle escalations through to resolution.
- Provide expert guidance on HR processes, legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Work with Senior Payroll Manager to simplify and improve processes across Employee Services to ensure quality, compliant procedures that improve the employee experience.
- Coordinate the annual salary review system updates ensuring timely and accurate delivery to employees.
- Support contract mobilisations and demobilisations to ensure effective, accurate timely transition
- Create a culture that promotes high levels of employee engagement through inspiring leadership, driving continuous improvement and customer focus.
- Support monthly contractual changes ~280 new starters; ~252 leavers and ~300 contract amendments with 30 different T&Cs.

Electrical Supervisor
Equans are recruiting for an Electrical Supervisor to be based in Long Bennington.

What will you deliver?
- Be responsible for the day to day running of the engineers/contractors, ensure they meet targets and goals of all projects
- The day to day running of the electrical contracts, including direct reporting staff and sub-contractors

- Monitor the team’s production, ensuring resolution of task related issues or inhibitor to production for direct and subcontractors work streams

Mechanical Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team on site in Westminster, London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £40,000 - £45,801 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience and benefits package.
A role has become available on a prestigious government facilities management contract for a mechanical engineer. The role is a for a day shift engineer, working 8 hours each shift 09:00 – 18:00, with some flexibility to meet requirements.
What will you deliver?
- The successful candidate will be required to have proven previous experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance and their primary task will be to perform works on mechanical systems; including plumbing, air conditioning, pressure systems and will be required to assist the team with building fabric and electrical systems
- Effectively performing maintenance of a range of assets, through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner
- Manage any reactive tasks that get raised, from diagnosis through to sourcing parts and on to completion
- Working as first line response to any reactive call-out, ensuring that you are always working safely and to the Approved Codes of Practice for the relevant service you are carrying out
- Working with various different parties, including specialist subcontractors in order to deliver work to the highest of standards for our clients. You must be able to demonstrate that you are aware of best working practices and that you are following them at all times

Sur le centre de travaux de Saint Jacques de la Landes (35), Bouygues Energies & Services (Groupe EQUANS) réalise des travaux d'aménagement de réseaux souterrains : électricité (basse et haute tension), éclairage public (dépannage et travaux neufs), télécom et fibre optique, gaz, de réseaux aériens (levage de supports béton/bois, déroulage et raccordements de lignes basse et haute tension) et des opérations d’effacement de réseaux. Eclairage urbain, signalisation lumineuse tricolore et infrastructures de recharges pour véhicules électriques complètent ces activités.
Pour la rentrée 2025, nous sommes à la recherche d’un alternant Monteur Réseaux Electriques H/F.
Sous la responsabilité de votre tuteur, vous réaliserez divers travaux électriques en réseaux extérieurs, tant en maintenance, qu’en dépannage et travaux neufs.
A ce titre, vos missions seront les suivantes :
- Réalisation de tâches électriques souterraines : Effectuer du déroulage de câbles, Effectuer des travaux de raccordements sur réseau électrique basse tension (BT), Réaliser des travaux basse tension, Préparer et faire des reprises de branchements, Equiper les postes de transformation électriques, Réaliser des accessoires et boîtes.
- Réalisation de tâches électriques aériennes : pose et dépose de poteaux ; déroulage & dépose de câbles / lignes aériennes, pose & raccordements de câbles électriques & poste de transformation, mise en place d’équipements (boîtiers, coffrets…) / renforcement des réseaux
- Réalisation de tâches électriques d’éclairage public : travaux de maintenance, rénovation, dépannage et travaux neufs d’éclairage public.
Vous apporterez une grande attention quant au respect des règles de sécurité sur les chantiers sur lesquels vous serez affecté(e).

Profil :
