Mobile Technical Operative - Multiskilled
EQUANS is looking for a Multiskilled Mobile Technical Operative to join our team in Bournemouth on a permanent basis for our HMCTS contract. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
To work as a Mechanical engineer with electrical qualification. This Role is to provide both reactive and planned maintenance task as well as replacements though minor works and lifecycle. The role is to maintain the HVAC systems. To manage the sites BMS. And to over see daily operational of cooling towers.
Qualifications
Desirable to have an NVQ (or similar) in electrical and Mechanical studies.
Main Duties:
-Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
-Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
-Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding planned and reactive activities and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
-Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
-To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
-Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
-Ensure the professional image of Equans is presented to clients at all times
-Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
-Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site carrying out associated with electrical and all FM related tasks.
-To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
-To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
-Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
-Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
-Ensure CAFM system, e.g. Maximo, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
-To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
The position will require you to provide support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.
Client / Customer
•Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests
•Production of information for quotations
Helpdesk - PPM
•Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive activities
•Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract if required
Compliance
•To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP and Water Hygiene CP to permit Lamp changing and L8 activities e.g. tap flushing
•Produce Condition / Dilapidation Reports as required for fabric assets
•Ensure supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur
SHEQ
•Comply with requests for information from SHEQ manager
•Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
•Ensue PPE is safe to use
•Report accident and near misses in a timely manner
•Ensure your test equipment is within calibration
•Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works
Impact:
Working to high standard of service, we require a fully reliable and competent Handyman/Fabric Tech who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing good quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.
Complexity:
The successful candidate will have the ability to work unaided and build rapports with end users and customers, promoting EQUANS’ values.
Have an excellent knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and/or painting/decorating techniques.
Have an eye for detail and be conscious of quality standards.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
• Recognized Mechanical qualifications essential.
• Recognised Electrical engineering qualification essential.
• 18th Edition wiring Regs. essential
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 (Desirable)
• Obtain AP status within 3 months (EQUANS LV and Mechanical rules)
• First Aid at Work.
• Experienced fault-finding skills in BMS, LTHW systems, CLTHW systems, pumps, motors, HVAC, LV power systems,
• Experience in working with Cooling towers (Desirable)
• IPAF Certificated for 3a & 3b machines (Desirable)
• Experience in fault finding of BMS
• An understanding of the L8 ACOP
• A robust understanding of Health and Safety is required.
• Knowledge of the Permit to Work system & experience issuing PTW (Desirable).
• To maintain effective communication with the customers at site level
• Always ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
• To carry out any other reasonable tasks that may be required to support the account and the business in general.
• Be able to manage and prioritise the workload.
• Ensure compliance with contract KPIs and SLAs with the support of the Engineering Supervisor.
• Participation in the account out of hours call out service on a rota basis.

General overview
The Senior Procurement Manager (SPM) for Digital and Energy Services (DES) reports directly to the Head of Procurement for DES and plays a pivotal role in delivering the Procurement Strategy across Embedded Energy, EV Solutions, Smart Buildings, Energy and Carbon Solutions, driving efficiency, innovation, and sustainable practices, including insourcing initiatives, to enhance overall Divisional procurement performance. The SPM is a trusted advisor to internal operations stakeholders, the conduit between them and the wider Procurement team and the first point of escalation in the event of any issues. This is an important role for the Procurement Function which is challenged with delivering a de-centralised procurement support service within an autonomous and nationally-spread organisation.
Key activities
- Delivering professional procurement services to internal customers at all levels in the Energy Solutions division.
- Being a driver in raising the visibility and perception of Procurement.
- Defining, executing, and monitoring the procurement strategy of the following divisions: Embedded Energy, EV Solutions, Smart Buildings:

- Defining a procurement strategy in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders with an understanding of business needs and relevant routes to market to drive best value for the business.
- Promoting insourcing where in-house capabilities exist.
- Ensuring local procurement needs are aligned to a Category approach whenever possible.
- Implementing sourcing strategies for various projects, aligning with operational needs.
- Leading projects and key service contracts tendering and participating in negotiation to ensure optimal agreements.
- Driving compliance to existing framework agreements in collaboration with the Central category team and develop new frameworks as relevant to the division specific / local requirements. Leveraging parent company group agreements.
- Ensuring supplier Framework Agreements and Contracts are used and publicised across the business to ensure colleagues are aware of who to buy from and how much to pay.
- Managing suppliers who deliver services that are specific to the Business Unit and sourcing new suppliers who are best able to meet the needs of the Business; ensuring best value, fitness for purpose, risk reduction and a quality service to the end customer.

Skills, qualifications & experience:
- Experience of similar multi stakeholder organisations/roles.
- Relevant experience in procurement, commercial and/or financial preferably within the energy or similar services sector.
- Educated to degree/ diploma level (or working towards) in either Procurement, Business, Law, Surveying, Accounting, Science, or a CIPS accreditation.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, rules, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills for data-driven decision-making.
- Negotiation and contract management skills with proven experience in a procurement / commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of risk mitigation, financial analysis, and due diligence.
- Exposure to sustainable procurement practices and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to tailor approach based on the audience.
- Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial / contracts.
- PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel

Plumber
EQUANS are recruiting for a Plumber to be based in Oldham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
To carry out the duties as a Plumber in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures. To assist the Team in producing a quality product meeting the requirements of the contract and in a safe manner. Adhere to all requirements set by SHEQ team, policy, and strategy.
Be part of an on-call Rota to cover Out of Hours breakdowns as required.
Key Accountabilities
- To complete high quality repair and maintenance works and deliver high levels of customer service on a daily basis
- Complete plumbing, multi skilled works in order to complete the job in one visit
- To adhere to all Equans values, policies and procedures.
- To work effectively and positively with the client, customers and stakeholders on a daily basis
- To effectively and proactively assist in supporting the team to achieve KPI’s
- To utilise personal communication and protection equipment effectively and responsibly including the Company’s Vehicle Communication and Tracking System
- Work with all teams and departments within the Company to ensure the delivery of excellent services.
- To promote the Company’s aims and objectives, to attend work in a presentable manner in accordance with the Company’s dress code.
- Complete any required written or electronic documentation and records including time monitoring to enable the accurate calculation of costs, salary and property information.
- Participate in appropriate vocational/non vocational training courses and attend any appropriate meetings as required.

- uitvoering van projecten waarbij jij verantwoordelijk bent voor het regelen en toezien op de dagelijkse werkzaamheden. Jij zorgt ervoor dat de projecten worden uitgevoerd volgens de gestelde kaders
- het instrueren en aansturen van de installatiemonteurs om samen het best mogelijke resultaat te behalen
- het beheer en de kostenbewaking. Jij bent verantwoordelijk voor het vastleggen, communiceren en administreren van wijzingen en gegevens. Hierbij kun je denken aan “as-built” gegevens en bijhouden van wijzigingen zoals meer- en minderwerken
- de voorbereiding van de projecten. Samen met de projectleider en werkvoorbereider zorg je voor een goede voorbereiding van de projecten

Dit ga je doen als Projectleider ET/WT Defensie
Voor onze opdrachtgever, het Rijksvastgoedbedrijf (RVB), onderhouden we alles op het gebied van gebouw gebonden installaties in de regio Arnhem. Als multidisciplinair Projectleider Elektrotechniek & Werktuigbouwkundige heb jij kennis van zowel Elektotechniek als Werktuigbouwkunde en ben jij verantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering van de projecten die voortkomen uit het onderhoudscontract voor het RVB. Bij het signaleren van een mogelijke modificatie, zoals het renoveren of vernieuwen van installaties, kom jij in beeld om dit project in goede banen te leiden.
Je onderhoudt nauw contact met leveranciers, onderaannemers, evt. collega-aannemers en derden. Daarnaast signaleer je potentiële nieuwe opdrachten, zodanig dat een bijdrage wordt geleverd aan de verwerving van nieuwe opdrachten binnen het RVB contract. Verder hoort er bij de functie het voorbereiden en uitwerken van de te verrichten werkzaamheden binnen de vastgestelde begroting en bijbehorend tijdsbestek.
