Fabric Engineer
Equans is looking for a Fabric Engineer to join our team on the HMCTS contract in a mobile capacity covering Telford and the surrounding area. This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,000 per annum and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
We’re looking for a reliable and competent Fabric Engineer to join our dynamic facilities management team. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining a wide range of building fabric and limited engineering assets, ensuring safety, functionality, and visual standards are consistently met.
What will you deliver?
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide variety of assets
- Conduct Legionella control and monitoring, including tap flushing
- Inspect and repair: floors, ceilings, walls, doors (including Fire Doors), windows, and furniture
- Perform basic plumbing, drainage clearance, and lighting maintenance
- Complete painting, decorating, and hanging of signage or notices
- Assist engineering staff with broader maintenance tasks as required
- Supervise subcontractors performing fabric-related tasks on site
- Ensure all work is safely executed with proper use of PPE, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments
- Accurately update and close work tickets in CAFM systems (e.g. PlanOn)
- Maintain plant rooms and storage areas to high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Provide support during emergency situations to ensure operational continuity

Who are you?
Qualifications:
- NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing, Carpentry, or Decorating Services
Experience:
- Proven experience in building fabric maintenance within a construction, repair, or facilities environment
- Good knowledge of fire door inspection and maintenance
- Familiarity with Legionella control techniques
- Strong understanding of health and safety compliance
Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently or within a team
- Confident in dealing directly with clients and end users
- Professional appearance and customer-focused approach
Successful postholder must be able to obtain and maintain security vetting

General Overview:
The Multiskilled Joiner is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of joinery components within residential and commercial properties managed by the company. This role combines expertise in joinery with skills in related trades such as minor plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance tasks to ensure properties are structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing, and functional.
What will you deliver?
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, composite, or metal components to construct or repair doors, windows, cabinets, and other joinery items

- Repair or replace damaged joinery components such as skirting boards, staircases, and kitchen units.

We have a great opportunity for a Solar Testing Manager to join our highly successful Energy Solutions business; primarily supporting our renewable energy projects.
Our Energy Solutions business oversee major renewable EPC projects across the UK. We design, install, commission and operate large scale solar PV farms for our clients. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

Key Activities:
- Develop and implement the testing element of the testing and commissioning plans and to prepare and verify any relevant method statements for the testing in line with project timelines.
- Test components and systems in accordance with all relevant normative and contractual requirements.
- Review test data for conformance to standards and specifications and to evaluate the data for anomalies, outliers and inconsistencies.
- To verify and check any test results presented by the relevant subcontractors, and to ensure any relevant punch list items are closed and retested appropriately and successfully.
- Use and operate relevant testing equipment proficiently as required.
- Assist in the remediation of any snagging items when electrical in nature and scope.
- Review and prepare Risk Assessment Matrix related to electrical testing.
- Keep up to date with the latest applicable Standards.
- Review and prepare electrical test sheet template.
- Follow up with subcontractor testing progress and update site progress tracker.
- Assign tasks relating to the testing scope to solar testing engineers whether in house or supply chain.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors and clients in relation to the testing scope.
- Compile detailed performance and quality reports for project stakeholders
- Act as the authorised person for switching operations on HV and LV systems in accordance with the company’s Electrical Safety Rules

Technical Services Manager (Electrical)
Equans is looking for a Electrical Manager (Technical Services Manager) to join our team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, Bonus and benefits package.
The new facility is a 9-story new built acute hospital due for completion in 2024. The installation of the engineering service is advanced, and commissioning is starting to progress on many services. This role is a site-based role undertaking inspections to determine the facility has been constructed to the appropriate technical, performance and quality standards and witnessing testing.
Reporting to the Head of Estates. The post will be responsible for assisting in the technical commissioning and mobilisation of the new hospital facility and then undertaking an operational role following the opening of the site.
The role is to assist the Head of Estates in the provision and deliver of a high-quality maintenance service. The role will also include assisting in the operation, repair and maintenance of building fabric and engineering services while working within a multi-disciplinary hard service team environment. Due to the wide range of services and systems installed within the building the role requires a wide range of skills and flexible nature but also provides the opportunity to work in a very rewarding environment with continued opportunity for learning and development.
Whilst the role will be based at the MMUH Equans are also responsible for the maintenance of other sites within the Trust’s estate and it is possible that the post holder will be required to work at other sites and may be requested to vary hours to cover shifts patterns where needed to cover annual leave and sickness.
What will you deliver?
- Directly accountable for managing the delivery and compliance of the day-to-day maintenance services
- Have a high level of technical knowledge covering complex system installed within a healthcare environment
- Providing technical inspection, review and evaluation of complex electrical systems and infrastructure
- Receive and review complex performance and commissioning data and verify both visually and analytically
- Ensure that all planned preventative maintenance activities are planned and scheduled in conjunction with the Planning Coordinator for buildings, plant and equipment using the Maximo system, with consideration to statute, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s)
- Lead in undertaking negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to provide a cost-effective service with reference to the contract SLA’s
- Responsible for specific elements of budgetary control and give additional assistance with financial controls with reference to departmental budget, stock, contracts etc
- Monitor and ensuring that all staff and subcontractors’ response and rectification times are met, and repairs are undertaken diligently, with due care and without undue delay
- To review the quality of work undertaken by both directly employed staff and contractors
- Ensure cover is provided at all times by ensuring shift rotas are adequately covered
- Regularly meet with directly employed staff (collectively irrespective of their trade function and individually), subcontractors and suppliers to discuss performance
- Responsible for the safety of plant, equipment, and infrastructure and for safe working practices
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all Statutory Standards and Regulations and Department of Health requirements providing reports and assurance to both Senior Management and the Client that all contractual requirements are being met
- Involvement in the process of tendering contracts and the selection of new sub-contractors and suppliers
- Attend and chair as required Health & Safety forums with staff and the client on a regular basis
- Ensure that plant and equipment data and information is delivered in an accurate and timely manner to enable Lifecycle Planning to be developed
- Plan and assist in the production of condition surveys and subsequent action plans in a timely manner allowing milestone targets and goals to be achieved
- Responsible for bringing to the attention of the Head of Estates and all Senior Management any unsafe working conditions, working practices, unsafe plant or equipment encountered during the execution of duties including reporting on the company reporting and recording system
- Responsible for the execution of any other estates and facilities related duties in an emergency/urgent situation, as directed by the Head of Estates or Senior Management Team
- Participate as a member of the Estates Team by achieving Authorised Person (AP) status in a number of disciplines as required and directed by Senior Management Team which will include High Voltage and Low Voltage and at least 2 of the following key disciplines along with any other disciplines deemed necessary:
- Medical gas
- Working at Heights
- Confined Spaces
- Required to participating in the ‘on call’ rota as and when required, after suitable training and relevant experience is gained as directed by Senior Management
- Required to supervision and participating in a ‘recall to work’ procedure for emergency repairs as required when not on call
- Responsible for undertaking flexible working practices across the whole range of estates services. This will include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, cleaning, building etc – duties as directed by the Senior Management Team
- Responsible for undertaking work in any other building/property/location as required
- To attend and participate in training courses as required and to undertake any training in the future as may be required to ensure the duties of the post are effectively carried out or as required by the Senior Management Team
- Managing and directing staff in a safe and efficient manner and conducting personal performance evaluations of staff in accordance with EQUANS policies and procedures
- Deliver training to staff on relevant subjects as appropriate to experience is gained (e.g., toolbox talks & trade specific subject matter)
- Responsible for advising management and demonstrating where there is a demonstrable shortfall in resources to meet the standards required for patient environment and to meet legislation requirements
- Responsible for first line management with regards to all EQUANS Human Resource and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Plan, monitor and participate in monthly 10% Audit checks on works carried out by the estate’s teams ensuring compliance, report shortfalls and training requirements

- Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline

Equans is looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical) to join our team in Kingston upon Thames on a Permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
Working hours are Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift of the following times:
Early - 08:00- 16:30
Mid - 09:00- 17:30
Late - 10:30- 19:00
You will also be required to be on call every 1 in 6 weeks
What will you deliver?
- Provide maintenance at the student accommodation sites in Kingston upon Thames
- Provide initial response to all Reactive Maintenance requests during normal working hours and Out of Hours as part of the On-call Out of Hours Rota
- Undertake replacements of electrical appliances and fittings as needed
- Quarterly shower head & hose cleaning in accordance with L8 requirements (full training will be provided)
- Monthly temperature monitoring of Hot & Cold water systems
- Continuous monitoring and maintenance of mechanical systems, fittings and plantrooms
- Weekly flushing of water outlets in all unoccupied rooms
- Weekly fire alarm testing on the student accommodation
- Bi-annual Fire Door inspections (full training will be provided), ensuring necessary adjustments are completed / faults & damage recorded accurately
- Undertake minor repairs to faults reported within student bedrooms and shared kitchen facilities covering all elements of building Fabric, Fixtures & Fittings
- Carry out replacement of luminaires & general LV outlets & accessories
