Position Overview:
As a Project Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, you will oversee the development, execution, and successful completion of BESS installations, from initial planning through commissioning. This role requires a balance of technical knowledge, project management skills, and experience in the renewable energy sector to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for BESS projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and effective collaboration throughout each project phase.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, procurement specialists, and construction crews, to optimize resource use and drive project milestones.
- Ensure all BESS projects meet industry standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental impact, and renewable energy.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage contingencies to maintain project continuity.
- Monitor project quality standards and conduct regular inspections to ensure high-performance outcomes and adherence to best practices in BESS installation.
- Provide timely updates to senior management, maintain accurate project documentation, and prepare reports on project progress, risks, and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale renewable energy and high voltage EPC projects, with 10+ years experience.
- Solid understanding of battery storage systems, electrical engineering principles, and renewable energy technologies.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate with and present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to overcoming project challenges.
- Able to manage high performance engineering and construction team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Vos principales missions :
Rattaché(e) au chef de chantier, vous êtes le garant des installations électriques en tertiaire. Leader de l'équipe en place, vous organisez, conduisez et animez le travail de l’équipe d’exécution. Vous êtes le garant de la bonne réalisation des opérations et dans le respect des règles d’hygiène et de sécurité, de la qualité d’exécution et des délais.
Expert dans votre domaine, vous réalisez avec autonomie les travaux complexes de votre spécialité.
Vous renseignez les documents contractuels, le rapport de fin d’intervention, les PV d’essais, de contrôle et d’épreuves.
Et enfin, parce que c'est l'affaire de tous, vous respectez les règles de prévention et de sécurité, en veillant à:
- Faire respecter la sécurité sur les chantiers : modes opératoires, consignes, port des EPI…et des consignes de sécurité du client
- Participer à l’élaboration du PPSPS ou plan de prévention
- Vérifier le niveau d’habilitation électrique du personnel de l’équipe, l’aptitude physique, autorisations de conduite…
- Participer aux visites chantiers
- L’entretien et au nettoyage de la base vie
Votre profil :
Idéalement issu(e) d’une formation de type CAP/BEP / BAC/ en électrotechnique, vous justifiez d'une expérience professionnelle significative sur un poste similaire et des compétences en électricité tertiaire.
Vous êtes à l’aise dans l’utilisation des outils connectés (Tablettes, GMAO…). Reconnu pour votre prise d’initiative, vous êtes autonome et doté d’un esprit d'équipe.

Fitter / Plumber
EQUANS are recruiting for a Fitter / Plumber to be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. What will you deliver?
- Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the Portsmouth Hospital Trust for the service provider.
- Undertake any training as required
- Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post
- After suitable training and guidance diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex equipment in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’s) and other specialised hospital equipment.
- Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that is outside core trade.
- To carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response.
- Work in highly unpleasant working conditions, unblocking drains and sewers, which include biological hazards of body fluids and noxious fumes.
- To work safely on steam and hot water systems
- To always observe statutory and other relevant requirements those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations.

Equans is recruiting for an Electrician to be based at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. General Overview:

- Understand the aims and objectives of EQUANS and your service area, together with your role in service delivery.
- Ensure that the services provided are to the highest quality/standard with due recognition of client and customer requirements and ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with EQUANS customer care values and Equal Opportunities Policies.
- Planning and prioritising work within recognised safe systems and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation at all times.

Impact:
- To carry out efficient and cost-effective installation/repair and maintenance of domestic, commercial electrical installations, annual servicing, minor works schemes, in the EQUANS Building Portfolio.
- Ability to interpret design drawings, electrical circuit diagrams, manufacturers specifications and instructions.
- Fault diagnosis and rectification of sub-standard installations in accordance with current regulations i.e. IEE 18th Edition regulations.
- Ensure all works conform to the requirements of EQUANS Safe Systems of Work for Low Voltage work, and BS 7671:2018 and complete all appropriate documentation and test certificates.
- Carry out repair/modification/replacement work within contract scope, as instructed by Supervisors/Management.
- Completion and timely submission of appropriate documentation.
- Ensure that standards and quality of work produced is in accordance with best practice and fit for purpose.
- Be actively involved in the development of apprentice training.
- Participation in the Call Out Rota.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
- City & Guild 2365 or equivalent
- AM2.
- City & Guild 2391.
- IEE 18th Edition.
- IT literate.
- Working knowledge of the Electrical industry and products.
- Health and Safety at work.
- Ability to work to written and verbal instruction with a minimum of supervision.
- Maintain accurate records, analyse information, able to read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, customers and members of the public.

Engineering Manager - Planned Maintenance
Equans is looking for an Engineering Manager - Planned Maintenance to join our team at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, PO6 3LY on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £53,000 - £55,000 per annum dependent upon skills and experience. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Maintain and develop Statutory/Mandatory compliant systems to support the delivery of a professional Hard Facilities Management function at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, to ensure compliance with the Contract, relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Coordinate and plan remedial repairs by contractors and site staff which require parts or services with lead times.
- Give technical support to Control Room staff in the correct allocation of Planned Maintenance Tasks to appropriately qualified engineering staff or sub-contractors.
- Responsible for ensuring full contractual compliance for availability of assets which will include the development of appropriate maintenance strategies and the undertaking of all planned work, liaise with Technical and Compliance Manager
- To plan and deliver all statutory, mandatory, and preventative maintenance.
- Plan annual inspections and audits for statutory compliance, quality assurance, and Joint Trust audits.
- Develop and maintain the 5-year Asset Life Cycle replacement plan for agreement with THC.
- The post holder shall perform AP duties for which they are suitably experienced, qualified, or trained and appointed.

Who are we looking for?
- Educated to HNC or ONC level in Building Services or Engineering related discipline.
- IOSH Managing Safely and / or NEBOSH Certificate
- Training in an engineering/building related environment preferred but job holder must be able to demonstrate achievement in areas associated with the healthcare environment. Proven experience in engineering staff and supply-chain management
- Good knowledge of H&S Legislation
- Experience of building maintenance and systems
- Excellent computer skills including data base, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
This role includes a DBS standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
