Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the handler works in a baggage room environment. They are responsible for ensuring the fluidity of the baggage sorting system by resolving blockages and delivering non-standard and non-consolidated baggage. Several workstations are available (MCS, BTS, Runner, etc). They are called In teams depending on the traffic to execute the various contingency plans and represent Equans within the airport community.

Description

  • Responsible for the handling of all baggage moving on the conveyors;
  • Resolve blockages;
  • Operation of manual encoding stations;
  • Manual identification of baggage not recognized by the automatic identification system;
  • Collect and clean bins at designated departure points;
  • Apply sweep procedures, establish inventory of remaining baggage and control fire doors;
  • Participate in various contingency plans in effect;
  • Adherence to baggage screening guidelines and procedures;
  • Participation in the continuous improvement culture.
  • Having a high school Diploma (D.E.S.)

Requirements

  • The person must be authorized to work in Canada;
  • Able to qualify for a security screening;
  • Relevant work experience, no specific qualifications;
  • Willing to work rotating hours;
  • Be in good physical condition (may have to work with heavy loads);
  • Occupational health and safety is the company’s number one priority.
  • Serving Canada and the United States, we must ensure the delivery of our services in the appropriate language, guaranteeing smooth and tailored communication to meet their needs. 

    Level of spoken and written French: Intermediate

    Level of spoken and written English: Beginner (Ability to understand and express oneself)
