Grounds & Gardens Operative

EQUANS are looking for Grounds & Gardens Operative at Tameside General Hospital. This role would be a permanent part-time role working 12 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

To work within a team providing an essential grounds and gardens maintenance service to the site. Ensuring the Site remains clear of litter and Organic debris and remains neat and tidy at all times. The individual must be able to work to with their own initiative to prioritise workloads and within the wider to team to provide a first class service to our client.

Impact:

The post holder working as part of a team, assists the Grounds Supervisor in the delivery of a professional grounds maintenance service, providing a positive image of the Hospital and our clients. They will be an important team member ensuring the grounds remain clean and clear at all times.

Complexity:

To maintain a litter free site, removing all accumulations of litter, cigarettes, debris, and leaves

To progress a schedule of external litter bin and cigarette disposal bin maintenance, inclusive of the removal and disposal of existing refuse bags, physically cleaning / disinfecting the receptacles prior to the insertion of replacement refuse bags.

To undertake the use of electrically operated water propelling, pressure jetting units, to remove graffiti, and extraneous accumulations from wall areas, floor areas, and grounds maintenance equipment.

To progress the planned maintenance of all formal bedding areas, with the works inclusive of all necessary digging over, hoeing, manure / fertiliser applications, planting operations, staking / tying back, and pruning in accordance with approved horticultural practices.

To progress the planned maintenance of hard landscaped areas, to be inclusive of paved areas, walling elements etc.

To assist the estates department’s general building assistants, on an ad-hoc basis, to progress any other works necessary to ensure safe and efficient maintenance of the estate.

To carry out a 10 day full site grass cut to an exceptional standard.

Be able to use and sign off jobs on a PDA.

To undertake the clearance of frost, ice, snow accumulations from all highways, carparks, footpaths, access ramps / stairways, employing rock salt, together with a range of ice dispersants, which are to applied both manually, and with the aid of mechanically propelled gritting equipment.

Complete all relevant PPM and reactive paperwork. Take part in the on call rota as planned

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Experience of PFI and/ or Healthcare Environment essential

Experience of working with members of the public and customer focus

Experience of Grounds maintenance

PA1&PA6 spraying licence

Full UK driving licence.

Key activities

This role supports a prestigious long-term energy supply contract in London, involving heat and electricity distribution from two Energy Centres.

Operation and maintenance of HTHW boilers and 11kV electrical generating plant
Mechanical maintenance of pumps, valves, water systems
Management of LV/HV distribution systems and safety document control systems

EC&I Apprentice

Role overview

The EC&I Apprentice will gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical control and instrumentation systems in a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) station. This role provides structured learning opportunities combined with practical application in a critical energy generation environment, helping develop skills required to become a fully qualified EC&I technician.

Key Activities:

This is an apprentice role, focusing on the development of necessary skills to complete the apprenticeship programme. They will be supported by the onsite technical team with an assigned mentor.
Where suitable as their knowledge base increases they will gain responsibilities for the maintenance and calibration of site equipment.

They will work mainly with the site EC&I technician, though will support site operations and other technical disciplines as required to ensure operational stability.
Whilst based at Leeds GSC, where mutually agreed there may be opportunity to support other sites within the DES portfolio to both satisfy the developmental needs of the apprentice and the operational needs of the business.
The role will encompass the whole facet of maintenance, including planned and reactive works using all tools at their disposal including knowledge gained from others, interpretation of technical literature and drawings and personal experience.
Comply with Equans Safe Systems of Work and approved working procedures to ensure safe working.
Develop through both academic study and hands on experience, creating a personal portfolio of work to demonstrate they have achieved the criteria required by the apprenticeship programme.
Carry out calibration and functional testing of instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and valve positioners under supervision.
Assist with the installation, commissioning and testing of electrical control systems, sensors and other instrumentation equipment.

Skills, qualifications & experience:

Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English, and Science.
Demonstrated interest in electrical, controls, and instrumentation technologies.
Basic electrical knowledge is desirable.
Commitment to safety and health standards.
Strong motivation to learn and develop technical expertise.

Workflow Scheduler

EQUANS are recruiting for a Workflow Scheduler to be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week from 07:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

The role of the Workflow Scheduler is to schedule Planned Works within SLA deadlines, whilst assisting with other onsite deliverables. The post will report directly to the CAFM Manager. In doing so, they will ensure that the CAFM systems are fit for purpose, properly set-up and maintained and that the FM team will be trained to make best and appropriate use of the systems installed. The Workflow Scheduler will ensure that the required records are issued and returned for audit and compliance purposes and to ensure that the reporting process will prove collaborative and robust.

The role holder will be instrumental in ensuring PPMs are completed within contractual SLAs and the associated records are received within appropriate timescales. To reduce deductions they will be required to accurately monitor workflow and escalate any issues.

What will you deliver?

Establish and maintain good working relationships with all CAFM system users and other staff, in support of their reporting requirements
Ensure completion of PPM activity within SLAs
Provide ad hoc data analysis and report on key CAFM data
Training and awareness of products, services and processes through engagement of Super Users by appointment
Ensure relevant, contract-specific system documentation is created and maintained
Create and Update necessary PPM paperwork for audit and compliance requirements
Maintain Master tables, generate PPM schedules, publishing reports to users
Support CAFM Manager with maintaining Asset and PPM data
Provide basic IT support to Help Desk (software installation, anti-virus updates, etc.)
Installation of PDA software and PDA management, etc
To liaise with subcontractors to arrange site attendance for PPM works and obtain appropriate paperwork following completion
Collaborate and co-operate with work colleagues, representatives, and users of the facilities to deliver a customer focussed service. Leading the development and achievement of the goals and aims set for the services.

Station Reception Officer

Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Station Reception Officer to join our operational team at Sutton Police Station. This is a permanent full-time shift based position working an average of 40 hours per week, 12 hour shifts with a one hour unpaid break, 07:00 to 19:00 / 19:00 to 07:00. What will you deliver?

Reports to Facilities & Services Manager
Providing an efficient first point of contact for members of the public
Answer calls promptly and clearly before re-routing callers accordingly
Operate computer systems accurately to record enquires
Receive and administer property
To be responsible for the security, safety and tidiness of the station reception areas
Working an average of 40 hours per week on a 5 on 3 off shift pattern, 10 hour shifts, earlies, lates and nights.
May be required to provide occasional cover at other sites within SE London

Category Manager

Equans is looking for a Category Manager to join our team on a permanent basis working from home. This is a full-time role, on offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

The expectation of a Lead Buyer / Category Manager role is for them to be responsible for maximising delivered financial value and enhancing visibility and perception of Procurement within Equans P&C. Managing a team of Buyers to provide an operational procurement service.

Core Competencies:

Procurement – Promoting the procurement aspects of all contracts under remit.
Communicating – with multiple members our organisation, supplier organisations and the customer’s organisation
Delivering – ensuring that Procurement delivers its commitment (financial, risk, business continuity)
Developing – enhancing the perception of Procurement and a sense of wider responsibility and commercial acumen within all aspects of Equans procurement.
Finance – working alongside finance to understand financial performance and improvement over the life of the contracts.
Influencing – bringing a more effective procurement approach to our contracts, both operational, supplier & subcontractor.
Communication - An ability to vary dependent on audience whilst ensuring a consistent message with clear dialogue/communication skills are essential in fulfilling this role.

Station Reception Officer

Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Station Reception Officer to join our operational team at Lewisham Police Station. This is a permanent full-time shift based position working an average of 40 hours per week on a continental shift pattern:- 10 & 12 hour day shifts: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri -10:00 to 22:00; Sat/Sun - 09:00 to 19:00 with a one hour paid break.

What will you deliver?

Reports to Facilities & Services Manager
Providing an efficient first point of contact for members of the public
Answer calls promptly and clearly before re-routing callers accordingly
Operate computer systems accurately to record enquires
Receive and administer property
To be responsible for the security, safety and tidiness of the station reception areas
May be required to provide occasional cover at other sites within SE London

Who are we looking for?

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of written/spoken English
Diligent customer service attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good IT skills
Subject to security vetting by the Metropolitan Police
