Summary

Equans is seeking an experienced Business Development Director (BDD) to support the development of our Integrated Facility management services in Northeastern USA (ME, NH,MA,MD,NJ,PA,NY) and East Coast or Central areas. The seasoned Sales professional must be capable of effectively delivering ESI Value Proposition regarding Integrated Facility Management and Energy Optimization to the C-level and must demonstrate success through a proven track record of managing and closing opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle.

Reporting to the Business Development Vice-President; the successful candidate assumes responsibility for market development through prospecting, prepares responses to requests for proposals, and negotiates and signs contracts, primarily in the fields of facility management, technical solutions and energy management. The candidate will also collaboratively work with EQUANS’s sister companies (HT Lyons, Conti and Systecon) to develop cross-selling opportunities.

This position will play the lead role in growing our facility services business in the United States, from strategy development and market penetration design to execution of the plan.

Description
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development:

  • Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the FM/IFM and technical solutions space.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, target sectors, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to penetrate key markets and accounts.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their specific needs and challenges.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing tailored solutions to enhance client operations and meet business objectives.

Sales Execution:

  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles, including prospecting, proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Present FM/IFM and technical solution offerings to clients through compelling pitches, demonstrations, and proposals.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives.

Collaboration and Team Leadership:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and technical experts, to deliver seamless solutions to clients.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior sales team members, fostering a high-performance culture.

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the FM/IFM sector.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast data using CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Report on sales performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Focuses on demonstrating value at the executive level, including initiating contacts, generating, and following up on leads, conducting sales interviews & presentations, building/maintaining relationships, attending key events while translating evolving Market Needs into Business Strategies.
  • Demonstrates autonomy to prepare commercial offers in a compelling, persistent and confident manner, particularly owners and owner representatives at the C-level while generating required business results.
  • Works with teams of internal specialists (energy, sustainability and technology and operations) to enhance presentations and commercial offers.
  • Actively listens, probes, and identifies Pressures, Plans and Problems through effective communication skills. Understands the customer's business and buying process. Demonstrates financial and business acumen to develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
  • Assists in the development of key account Strategic plans and Pursuit Strategies. Aides in the implementation of these strategies and action plans. Targets new customers based on vertical market strategies and current market needs.
  • Actively supports and participates to the bidding process. Leading and negotiating pricing, long-term contract terms and conditions within existing business parameters. Work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders to ensure success in bidding.
  • Directs and negotiates prices, contractual terms and conditions within existing business parameters.
  • Utilizes sales tools (CRM) to plan and document progress as well as building and managing a Sales Pipeline aligned with their yearly Business Plan and objectives.
  • Accountable to shepherd client relationships from the early stages of the sales process through to post-sales and transition to the Operations teams.
  • Accountable for being well-informed about current industry trends and being able to speak with conviction about the industry. Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products/services.
  • Virtual Communication skills are a necessity for effective Selling in today’s global environment. Must attend, participates, and present at trade shows and conferences (Virtual or in person). Participates in professional organizations.
  • This is a field role and regular travel is required.

Skills

  • Authorized to work in the US;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in facility management and/or building science (Understanding facility services/IFM commercial models).
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in strategic business development role.

  • Must be result driven and autonomous.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Commercial Gas Engineer

Equans is looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team in South Wales on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company van and benefits package.

We are looking to recruit a highly experienced and motivated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team. As the first point of contact with our clients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and customer service. You will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and breakdown repairs in compliance with contractual obligations and safety regulations.                        

What will you deliver?

  • Complete all PPM tasks as per the maintenance specification, logging activities in real-time using a PDA.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all maintenance-related documentation, including E-Forms.
  • Update clients' CAFM systems with detailed work descriptions and completion times.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and record plant failures with appropriate documentation.
  • Respond promptly to equipment faults and ensure all remedial works are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain adequate stock of spare parts, providing estimates and timescales for repairs.
  • Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) before commencing any task.

  • Recognised industry qualification is essential.

The Multiskilled Joiner is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of joinery components within residential and commercial properties managed by the company. What will you deliver?

  •  Measure, cut, and assemble wood, composite, or metal components to construct or repair doors, windows, cabinets, and other joinery items.

Equans is looking for a Cleaner to join our team in Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services, 41 Silverdale Road WA12 0JT  on a permanent basis, working 6  hours per week. On offer is a salary of £12 per hour and benefits package.

The Director of SLS Identity Management is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and management of identity and access management (IAM) services across the organization. We are seeking an experienced Senior ITSM Process Manager to join our dynamic team.   • Strong expertise in Software Asset Management, Service Portfolio Management, and related processes.

Head of Commercial

EQUANS is looking for a Head of Commercial to join our team in Hatfield on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

The Commercial Manager will oversee all commercial elements of the business.  To understand, adhere and implement the company SHEQ policy/strategy.

What will you deliver? 

  • Take line management responsibility for all QS’s within Region.
  • Lead financial strategy at Contract Establishment stage by implementing, monitoring and managing our desired approach with QS teams.
  • Maximise profit potential on all operational schemes, by carrying out regular project reviews with the site teams and operational lead and working direct with clients where needed.
  • Maximise variation and specification change opportunities on live schemes to ensure all opportunities of increased margins are identified and considered.
  • Set up regional supply chain deals, working with the central procurement department to ensure the regions achieve the best potential in terms of supplier arrangements.
  • Ensure sub-contract buying gains are maximized, working with the Ops Manager to ensure appropriate SC choices are made at contract set up.
  • Close management of supply chain within the region, measuring performance & working with RMD & Bid Teams to ensure fair split of work between estimating & operations teams.
  • Identify and manage financial risk to the regions, associated with working in new areas and with new suppliers, particularly around contract complexities such as TUPE.
  • Work with operations manager, RMD and Keepmoat legal dept on any potential and live and potential disputes that can expose the region to risk
  • Manage all profitability reporting for the region, working with the QS teams and operations manager, ensure accuracy and robustness of financial reporting, with all risks and opportunities identified and discussed with the Ops Manager and RMD on a monthly basis. 
  • Ensure monthly operational billings are accurate and reflect realistic delivery on site, monitor and manage monthly changes in billings projections providing report on major movements.
  • Work with Operations Manager carrying out an overall (risk/opportunities adjusted) financial report each month after completion of billings for internal management purposes.
  • Manage cash collection and invoicing of month accrued income values.
  • Ensure new QS’s in the business operate in the Keepmoat way and act appropriately towards all clients and suppliers.
  • Establish accurate cost delivery data within the region, and work with estimating teams to ensure real delivery costs are incorporated into live tenders, attend financial tender adjudication reviews to discuss potential risk and opportunities at tender stage.
  • Manage cost allocations across regional overheads and direct job costed staff, reporting direct to RD on any potential issues
  • Manage “red flag” reports, chase up outstanding issues and report progress to Operations Manager and RMD.

Shift Electrical Engineer

Equans is looking for a Shift Electrical Engineer to work on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week, based on a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, 7am-7pm. There is also an on-call rota.

What will you deliver?

  • Effectively perform electrical maintenance of all relevant assets, especially lighting and small power (including stock control), through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner. There will be a requirement in completing reactive tasks that get raised
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work
  • Carry out work on the following but not limited to; day to day maintenance and repairs, weekly and monthly fire alarm testing, emergency lighting
  • Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
  • Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
  • Work as part of a wider engineering team so there may be a requirement for them to pick up other tasks that may not be specifically related to electrical systems
  • Carry out on call duties as part of a rota
