Equans is looking for a M&E Technician to join our team in Barnet, London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • To maintain and carry out repairs on HVAC systems, gas appliances, Piped Medical Gas systems, steam plant/equipment and all other equipment in plant rooms, patient areas and other departments
  • Works will involve working in a live Hospital environment, working at height (Podiums), using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery/equipment for larger repairs (Doors etc)
  • Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the Site
  • Ensure that all works assigned are managed so far as attendance and completion times, and that works orders are completed and update to the CAFM system
  • To take responsibility for all works issued and to ensure that all attendance and rectification times are achieved
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team as appropriate – working day will consist of arranging works, access equipment as required and ensuring all safety protocols are In place
  • Diagnose fault-find, debug and commission systems, utilising appropriate technical skills and system knowledge
  • Monitor and assess ongoing machine/ facility performance
  • Confer with other engineers and personnel to implement operating procedures are met, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information to the Helpdesk

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience with installations (desirable)
  • City and Guilds up to Level 3 in Electrical Installations and building structures
  • BS 7671 18th Edition or similar recognised qualification
  • Training in ACOP L8 would be advantageous
  • Possess a high degree of attention to detail
  • Proactive and enthusiastic Team Player
  • Experience of working within Facilities Management
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers
