We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to accelerate growth and reinforce Operational Excellence.
You are mainly active in Antwerp, Gent, Brussels and Liège region, and are open to travel between the different sites.
As a skilled professional with a strong track record of leading organizational excellence and continuous improvement programs and initiatives, you are an integral part of the Division Leadership team. This role requires collaborative work across the division, and focuses on the hands-on creation, deployment and execution of tangible improvement initiatives
The Head of Operations & Continuous Improvement will oversee and facilitate operational management and improvement initiatives across various functions, harnessing cross-functional teams for enhancing processes, systems, behaviors, and organizational effectiveness.
Specifically, you are in charge of the following activities:
- establish and manage a sales & operation planning. Required vs. available capacity
- coordinate engineering and project management resources needs at division level
- establish and continuously improve (global) processes and methodologies
- identify & deliver margin improvements enhancing cost optimization initiatives
- propose and coordinate the required investments
- lead production and operational innovations
- coordinate and structure the improvement initiatives
- initiate and support the implementation of new solutions and standardize them for deployment
- act as a change agent. Coaching, mentoring and influencing at all levels to affect the required CI (Continuous Improvement) culture
- develop, train and mentor employees to foster a strong culture of cross-functional continuous improvement. Examples include:
- visiting the factory floor daily
- confirming standardized processes
- insisting that problems are made visible
- questioning to ensure the root cause has been found
- supporting the standard tiered KPI meeting governance
In this transversal position you report to the Division Manager.
What do you need to excel in this function?
- degree in business management, (electro)mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience, 10+ years manufacturing of electromechanical service center experience
- experience with implementing lean manufacturing processes and principles with a multi-functional team
- experience with the eight lean wastes of manufacturing, including how to address them and improve them
- experience facilitating Kaizen events using Kaizen methodology and lean tools to drive rapid, sustainable improvements in a manufacturing environment
- CI knowledge: a deep understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing (Visual Controls/5S, RCA, SMED, Standard Work, Line Balancing, Waste Reduction, VSM, Kaizens, TOC, PDCA, and OEE)
- excellent coaching and change management capabilities, hands-on approach
- fluency in Dutch, French & English
