Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide. Currently has a role for a Technical Director within our Energy Solutions business.

Key activities

Technical and engineering leadership across the Solar and Storage activities in the UK with a focus on large solar farms (>20MW) with colocation of energy storage in mind. Responsible for the management of engineering, incl. during the contract negotiations (eg for the technical schedules), quality assurance, commissioning, handover from construction to O&M, document control, information management, O&M and management of all activities during the DLP. Assistance to the commercial team for accurate reporting of the financial performances of the projects and to the legal team when claims or disputes arise. Assistance to the BD team to promote our activities and win new contracts. Investigation of new technologies and optimisation of the performance of existing assets or in the way we deliver our works.

  • Collaborate with other senior leaders in the company to develop, inform and implement the company’s technical strategy and to ensure alignment of the strategy with market trends and the company’s wider needs
  • Coordinate with other internal departments and functions such as finance, procurement, commercial and construction to ensure seamless interaction and effective as well as efficient processing of all required workflows. Also act as the key focal contact point for all technical matters in client interfacing
  • Assume overall responsibility for all matters related to health, safety, environment and quality on all technical matters related to the projects from mechanical completions onwards
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and day-to-day management of a team of testing and commissioning engineers to carry out all T&C activities across a fleet of renewable energy assets and interface with client and supply chain on relevant matters and have overall responsibility and accountability for all testing and commissioning activities
  • Lead a dedicated quality assurance teams in implementing a Quality Assurance plan per asset, providing overall quality strategy and prioritisation, interfacing between the quality team and other internal stakeholders (e.g. construction team, engineering/design), and have overall responsibility and accountability for quality assurance – ensuring that KPIs are compliant with the plan in relation to NCR and the management thereof as well as the required number of ITCs and ITPs
  • Lead the handover team to complete the handing over of all assets in the portfolio in time, and ensure that appropriate risk mitigation measures are put in place in case of delays by interfacing with the commercial team, and have overall responsibility and accountability for handover
  • Lead the document control team (and in future project information coordination team) to ensure the proper operation of the Common Data Environment, and to have overall responsibility and accountability for the timely processing and transmittal of all project related information to a high quality standard, between the different stakeholders required at the different project stages
  • Assume overall responsibility and accountability for the proper operation and maintenance of all sites currently in the company’s O&M estate and act as the key client liaison during the warranty period for all sites, ensuring any notified alleged defects are analysed appropriately and either remedied or rejected with appropriate corroboration
  • Champion initiatives of implementing new and advanced technologies in the fields of EPC and O&M, including the use of drones as well as advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, digital twins etc., to ensure the company is at the forefront of implementation of new technologies and modernisation of methodologies
  • Interface and coordinate with internal international design teams and build out a functional team of design engineers to assume accountability and ultimate responsibility for all design and engineering activities across the pipeline, to ensure compliance with contractual commitments as well as compliance with pertinent international standards and safety requirements as we all as environmental requirements and regulations
  • Lead the engineering design and all technical aspects of the projects, to include site assessments, system design, assessment of project development documentation etc.
  • Actively support the company’s business development activities with provision of advice and know-how, as well as support in the contract negotiation stage in relation to the review of employers’ requirements and testing schedules, to make sure that risk allocation is commensurate and appropriate and to ensure that all contractual commitments can be delivered from a technical perspective
