Equans is recruiting for a Facilities Supervisor to join the team in Royal Courts of Justice, Stand, Strand, London WC2A 2L . This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is salary of £32,000.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Times :
Monday to Friday working 8:30am – 17:00pm
General Overview
To supervise the cleaning supervisors and site cleaning teams to ensure a high standard of cleanliness internally and externally so that KPIs are met. First point of contact on management of waste, pest control and landscaping services.
This is a full-time permanent role working Monday – Friday however there is some element of flexibility required with early starts, evening, and weekends. The role requires covering a region and therefore must be able to travel.
Key responsibilities and duties :
- Lead and manage cleaning teams to consistently deliver high-quality services aligned with established KPIs.
- Manage direct reports on larger sites and operational teams on smaller sites, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Proactively respond to client issues promptly for both routine and non-routine cleaning services, while arranging cover for unplanned absences.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ regulations by monitoring quality and completion of cleaning tasks.
- Maintain cleaning materials, equipment, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Oversee procurement of cleaning materials and consumables to support uninterrupted service delivery.
- Coach and train employees on approved cleaning equipment and methods, adhering to BICS standards and Equans Health & Safety guidelines.
- Manage all people-related activities including recruitment, onboarding, attendance tracking, and performance management.
- Maintain up-to-date training records, ensuring team compliance through toolbox talks and other learning initiatives.
- Act as first point of contact for people management issues, escalating to line management or HR as necessary.
- Conduct performance audits and site visits to monitor team effectiveness and meet targets.
Who are we looking for ?
- Experience of industry/public cleaning services (essential).
- Previous experience of supervising a cleaning team in multiple locations (essential).
- COSHH Knowledge (desirable).
- Understand basic health and safety principles.
- Able to motivate a cleaning team to attain a consistent specified standard of cleaning.
- Previous experience of effectively leading remote teams.
- Good communication and customer care skills.
- Team player demonstrating a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload with limited supervision.
- Basic knowledge on IT and Microsoft office systems.
