EQUANS is looking for a Programme Planner to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Initially, the post holder will be based at Manchester joint Hospitals.
The role requires effective co-ordination of the various projects programme’s and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising. It also includes the co-ordination of the new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits. The programme manager is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the overarching programme. They will develop and maintain the programme environment to support each individual project within it. To work as part of a team to build on reputation, capability and delivering efficiently to ensure the projects team maintains a strong project pipeline and develop new leads and clients.
What will you deliver?
- Planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues, and initiating appropriate corrective action
- Defining the programme’s governance arrangements
- Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme – focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical and specialist standards
- Providing a real time reporting functionality
- Analysing and reporting on the delivery of new products or services from projects with reference to the level of quality, time, and budget constraints, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements
- Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme’s individual projects by identifying requirements and advising the Senior Management Team
- Managing third party contributions to the programme
- Managing communications with all stakeholders
- Identify and Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
- Identify and Manage risks to the programme’s successful outcome
- Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise
- Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the PMO Associate Director
- To develop business opportunities within and external to the contract where appropriate
- Support and look to integrate effectively with other BYES contracts for mutual benefit, some travel will be required as part of this role due to its nature

Who are we looking for?
- Good knowledge of programme and project management methods including MSP and APM/PRINCE2
- Appropriate professional institute membership or working towards
- Construction/MEP bias/background
- Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes
- Sound business case development and approvals skills
- Working knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- Full clean driving licence
This role includes a DBS Enhanced check therefore ability to pass is essential.
