Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join the Equans Sustainable FM team. This key position will focus primarily on the electrical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems at two locations in Central and West London. As the electrical technical expert, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical plant and equipment. Additionally, you will play an essential role in supporting the development of junior technicians and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the electrical technical lead, overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across both sites.

Perform electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations on advanced electrical systems, ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Identify and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns promptly, minimizing downtime and disruption.

Ensure that statutory electrical PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) are completed on time, either by self-delivery or subcontractor supervision.

Collaborate with engineers and trade staff, offering electrical expertise for new installations, remedial works, and ongoing maintenance.

Provide mentorship and training for junior staff, apprentices, and trainees, especially in electrical systems and best practices.

Maintain up-to-date technical electrical reports and manage minor electrical projects and upgrades.

Ensure all electrical work complies with health and safety regulations, quality policies, and company procedures.

Oversee the management of electrical-related subcontractors, reviewing service sheets and implementing recommendations.
Qualifications & Skills:

Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including fault finding, maintenance, and repair (essential).

BS 7671 Testing and Inspection qualification (essential).

Proven experience working with electrical systems in a corporate office environment (preferred).

In-depth understanding of electrical health and safety legislation and the ability to manage and mitigate risks effectively.

Proficiency in using IT reporting software to track and report on electrical work and site activities.

Strong leadership skills to manage, train, and mentor junior electrical staff, apprentices, and trainees.

Willingness to keep up with the latest technological advancements and industry standards in electrical systems.
