Equans is looking for a Head of DE&I and Wellbeing to join our HR function on a permanent basis. This role can be based from any Equans office with additional travel required. 

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The Head of DE&I and Wellbeing is required to create and drive the implementation of the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and Wellbeing strategy and interventions.

The role will be pivotal in achieving our DE&I vision, to create a “culture that values difference and delivers fairness for all”, by contributing to fostering an environment of inclusivity, equity and belonging within our organisation. Role responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of activities, including advising the business on key DE&I initiatives, shaping the UK D,E&I and Wellbeing agenda, liaising with internal, external and wider stakeholders within the Equans and Bouygues Group. The role will also be responsible for managing the DE&I and Wellbeing Team and supporting them in their core focuses of Employee Led Network (ELN) co-ordination, partnering with internal stakeholders, supporting with external submissions, recognition and awards, and helping to oversee external kitemarks and benchmarking initiatives.

What will you deliver?

DE&I Strategy Implementation:

  • Developing and shaping the UK DE&I and Wellbeing agenda inline with the organisations Fundamentals, UK HR People Plan and core values – ARTS.
  • Setting the UK targets for key DE&I measures as part of the Impact charter
  • Working alongside the DE&I and Wellbeing Manager in the delivery of the DE&I and Wellbeing strategy as a programme of culture change.
  • Liaising with external bodies and services, utilising their expertise, content and workshops, to help drive the UK agenda forward.
  • Presenting data and analytics which track and measure progress towards DE&I goals.
  • Work as a trusted partner with key stakeholders from across the business. Understanding their needs and providing solutions which support alignment and buy-in to DE&I and Wellbeing agenda.

Employee Led Network Co-ordination:

  • Helping to shape the agenda and key focus points of our vibrant and engaging DE&I Employee Led Networks (ELNs), with seven currently in total across several dimensions of diversity including our newest Network, the Veterans and Reservists Network (VaR).
  • Ensuring that Network campaigns and initiatives are in line with both the DE&I and Wellbeing agenda and the needs of the business.

 

Collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders:

  • Partner with Internal Stakeholders from across the business to identify their needs and take insights which can be used to shape the DE&I and Wellbeing agenda.
  • Present to both the HR Leadership Team and Executive Team on key changes or initiatives, helping to gain buy in and critical feedback.
  • Partner with wider Bouygues and Equans entities from across the globe, sharing best practice and supporting with group projects.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of DE&I and Wellbeing focused communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DE&I and Wellbeing initiatives into various aspects of the organisation’s operations.

Managing External Kitemarks and Benchmarking:

  • Manage and drive the organisation’s participation in external kitemarks, certifications, and benchmarking assessments (e.g. Disability Confident, Stonewall) and external partnerships alongside key internal stakeholders.
  • Lead on providing key information and data analysis, required for submissions to external organizations and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Lead on identifying areas for improvement based on benchmarking results and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to implement necessary changes.

Who are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in leading on diversity, equity, and inclusion and wellbeing agendas within a large corporate organisation.
  • In depth knowledge of external factors, emerging focal points, best practices within diversity and inclusion and wellbeing, including familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to create project plans, identify risks and lead on multiple initiatives and workstreams simultaneously.
  • The ability to actively listen to feedback and articulate the needs of the business, present workable solutions to Senior Leaders and Executives.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to support decision-making and measure the impact of DE&I and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on emerging trends and developments in the DE&I and Wellbeing field.
  • Passionate about delivering positive change.
