Equans is looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team in South Wales on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company van and benefits package.
We are looking to recruit a highly experienced and motivated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team. As the first point of contact with our clients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and customer service. You will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and breakdown repairs in compliance with contractual obligations and safety regulations.
What will you deliver?
- Complete all PPM tasks as per the maintenance specification, logging activities in real-time using a PDA.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all maintenance-related documentation, including E-Forms.
- Update clients' CAFM systems with detailed work descriptions and completion times.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and record plant failures with appropriate documentation.
- Respond promptly to equipment faults and ensure all remedial works are completed efficiently.
- Maintain adequate stock of spare parts, providing estimates and timescales for repairs.
- Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) before commencing any task.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of PPE and compliance with
- Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Operate within Permit to Work systems according to Equans and client requirements.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
- Participate in the on-call rota and be available for out-of-hours work as required.
- Keep plant rooms clean and oversee subcontractor activities on site.
- Regularly audit tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure safety compliance.

Who are we looking for?
- Recognised industry qualification is essential.
- Essential Combustion/Gas/Oil Qualifications: ACS Commercial and Domestic Gas Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1, COCN1, CORT1, CIGA1, ICPN1, CDGA1, TPCP1, COCNGLP1PD).
- Minimum of post-apprenticeship experience in combustion engineering.
- Full, clean UK driver’s licence.
- Basic building fabric repair knowledge is desirable.
- Legionella and Asbestos awareness (training can be provided if necessary).
- MEWP Licence, First Aid training (preferable but not essential).
- Proficient in computer use and comfortable with real-time systems logging.
- Due to the nature of the contracts, successful post holder will be required to achieve DBS Enhanced including barred list.

What will you deliver?

Head of Commercial
EQUANS is looking for a Head of Commercial to join our team in Hatfield on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Commercial Manager will oversee all commercial elements of the business. To understand, adhere and implement the company SHEQ policy/strategy.
What will you deliver?
- Take line management responsibility for all QS’s within Region.
- Lead financial strategy at Contract Establishment stage by implementing, monitoring and managing our desired approach with QS teams.
- Maximise profit potential on all operational schemes, by carrying out regular project reviews with the site teams and operational lead and working direct with clients where needed.
- Maximise variation and specification change opportunities on live schemes to ensure all opportunities of increased margins are identified and considered.
- Set up regional supply chain deals, working with the central procurement department to ensure the regions achieve the best potential in terms of supplier arrangements.
- Ensure sub-contract buying gains are maximized, working with the Ops Manager to ensure appropriate SC choices are made at contract set up.
- Close management of supply chain within the region, measuring performance & working with RMD & Bid Teams to ensure fair split of work between estimating & operations teams.
- Identify and manage financial risk to the regions, associated with working in new areas and with new suppliers, particularly around contract complexities such as TUPE.
- Work with operations manager, RMD and Keepmoat legal dept on any potential and live and potential disputes that can expose the region to risk
- Manage all profitability reporting for the region, working with the QS teams and operations manager, ensure accuracy and robustness of financial reporting, with all risks and opportunities identified and discussed with the Ops Manager and RMD on a monthly basis.
- Ensure monthly operational billings are accurate and reflect realistic delivery on site, monitor and manage monthly changes in billings projections providing report on major movements.
- Work with Operations Manager carrying out an overall (risk/opportunities adjusted) financial report each month after completion of billings for internal management purposes.
- Manage cash collection and invoicing of month accrued income values.
- Ensure new QS’s in the business operate in the Keepmoat way and act appropriately towards all clients and suppliers.
- Establish accurate cost delivery data within the region, and work with estimating teams to ensure real delivery costs are incorporated into live tenders, attend financial tender adjudication reviews to discuss potential risk and opportunities at tender stage.
- Manage cost allocations across regional overheads and direct job costed staff, reporting direct to RD on any potential issues
- Manage “red flag” reports, chase up outstanding issues and report progress to Operations Manager and RMD.

Shift Electrical Engineer
Equans is looking for a Shift Electrical Engineer to work on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week, based on a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, 7am-7pm. There is also an on-call rota.

What will you deliver?
- Effectively perform electrical maintenance of all relevant assets, especially lighting and small power (including stock control), through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner. There will be a requirement in completing reactive tasks that get raised
- Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work
- Carry out work on the following but not limited to; day to day maintenance and repairs, weekly and monthly fire alarm testing, emergency lighting
- Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
- Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
- Work as part of a wider engineering team so there may be a requirement for them to pick up other tasks that may not be specifically related to electrical systems

Assistant Estates Manager Boilerhouse
Equans is looking for an Assistant Estates Manager- Boiler house to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role is to assist the Technical Services Managers in the provision of Hard FM & Lifecycle Services whilst delivering a high-quality and statutory compliant maintenance service.
The role is vital to ensure that the estate is maintained to a high compliant standard and that all statutory requirements are fully complied with and documented for all services and facilities under the control of the contract.
The post holder will manage the Boiler house, team, and assist in the operation, repair and maintenance of the plant.
There is an expectation to participate in the out of hours on call rota, currently 1 in 5

What will you deliver?
- Work in collaboration with the other AEM’s to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the Boiler house team including Planned, Corrective and Reactive maintenance tasks
- Managing and directing staff in a safe and efficient manner
- Deliver training to staff on relevant subjects as appropriate so experience is gained (e.g., toolbox talks & trade specific subject matter)
- Regularly meet with directly employed staff (collectively irrespective of their trade function and individually) to discuss performance and complete employee appraisals
- Manage absence and utilization within the team effectively ensuring the rota is covered as necessary
- Responsible for the action and validation of time sheets, on-call sheet, Annual leave requests and general personnel issues
- Ensure that planned and scheduled preventative maintenance activities using the Maximo system or other works management system, are compliant with Statute, Contract Requirements, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s)
- Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors Response and Rectification times are met, and repairs are undertaken diligently, with due care and without undue delay
- Carry out inspections and audits of both in house and 3rd party staff to ensure compliance with Contract Requirements, in a timely manner, to the required standard and documented correctly
- Managing and resolving incidents of non-compliance across the Estate in line with Contract and Company Requirements
- Responsible for the safety of plant, equipment and infrastructure, compliance documentation and for safe working practices

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor role is responsible for providing proactive support to the Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor in the successful management and control of all aspects of commercial, financial, and contractual elements of designated projects. Senior Quantity Surveyor
EQUANS are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company car and benefits package.
General Overview
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for leading all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple or high-value projects. This senior role focuses on maximising profitability, ensuring comprehensive legal and contractual compliance, and proactively managing all commercial issues. The Senior Quantity Surveyor is also tasked with overseeing the completion of applications and valuations in line with contract terms, ensuring prompt payments to subcontractors, and aligning all activities with the company's SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) policy and strategy. In this capacity, the Senior QS plays a pivotal role in guiding the commercial strategy and ensuring successful project delivery from a financial and contractual perspective.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Ensure rigorous cost control throughout the project lifecycle and manage effective cash collection. Take responsibility for financial performance, providing strategic insights to maximise profitability.
- Contract Administration: Lead the administration of contracts, including the preparation, negotiation, and finalisation of contract variations. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met, and that legal risks are minimised through robust contract management.
- Procurement and Tendering: Supervise the procurement process, ensuring the preparation of comprehensive tender documents, careful evaluation of bids, and selection of subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure procurement activities deliver the best value and align with the company’s commercial strategy.
- Cost Valuation and Reporting: Conduct and oversee regular valuations of work completed, manage payments to subcontractors, and prepare final accounts. Oversee profitability reporting for projects, ensuring the accuracy and robustness of financial reporting (CVRs/WCT) in collaboration with the commercial and operational teams, identifying all risks and opportunities.
- Risk Management: Take a lead role in identifying, assessing, and managing financial and contractual risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring the company's interests are safeguarded at all times.

Electrical Engineer
Equans is looking for an Electrical Engineer to work on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This is a permanent, part-time role, working 16 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Effectively perform electrical maintenance of all relevant assets, especially lighting and small power (including stock control), through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner. There will be a requirement in completing reactive tasks that get raised
- Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work
- Carry out work on the following but not limited to; day to day maintenance and repairs, weekly and monthly fire alarm testing, emergency lighting
- Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
- Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
- Work as part of a wider engineering team so there may be a requirement for them to pick up other tasks that may not be specifically related to electrical systems
- Carry out on call duties as part of a rota

Als Werkvoorbereider Laadinfrastructuur werk je aan onze projecten binnen de Business Unit Duurzame Energie & Netten. Ons team richt zich op de energievoorziening van de toekomst. Of het nu gaat om duurzame energieopwekking, energievoorziening voor het transport en logistiek of uitbreiding van regionale netwerken, wij maken de energietransitie mogelijk.
Jouw focus ligt op de werkvoorbereiding van laadinfrastructuur voor elektrisch vervoer in de logistieke sector. Je zorgt ervoor dat alles van A tot Z geregeld is – van de planning en coördinatie van materialen en materieel tot het plaatsen van bestellingen. Je werkt nauw samen met de montageleider om alles optimaal te organiseren en bewaakt de levertijden, schakelt snel in bij onverwachte situaties. Als echte aanpakker houd je het overzicht, beweeg je flexibel mee met de werkzaamheden en zorg je dat alles op rolletjes loopt. Daarnaast werk je samen met de projectleiders en monteurs om laadoplossingen soepel te integreren binnen bestaande logistieke processen. Dankzij jouw inzet en doorpakmentaliteit maken we de elektrificatie van wagenparken mogelijk en realiseren we slimme laadoplossingen die klaar zijn voor de toekomst.
Dit ga je doen als Werkvoorbereider Laadinfrastructuur:
- Bestellingen plaatsen per project en zorgen dat materialen tijdig beschikbaar zijn en efficiënt opgeslagen worden in het magazijn, zodat monteurs ze direct kunnen ophalen en gebruiken op de projectlocaties.
- Organiseren van (detail)planningen en schema’s voor personeel, materialen, materieel en onderaannemers.
- Bezoeken van projectlocaties samen met de montageleider om te beoordelen welke materialen en hulpmiddelen nodig zijn, waarbij je technisch inzicht essentieel is om de juiste keuzes te maken.
- In samenspraak met de montageleider de planning opstellen en afstemmen met de projectleider, servicemonteurs en andere collega’s.
- Opstellen van financiële overzichten, wijzigingen in meer- en minderwerk en uitvoeren van projectevaluaties.
- Onderhouden van contacten met opdrachtgevers, leveranciers en onderaannemers over bestellingen en levertijden.
- Ondersteunen salesafdeling met het opstellen van calculaties en offertes.
Jouw werkomgeving
Je komt te werken binnen de Business Unit Duurzame Energie & Netten, een ambitieus team dat landelijk opereert. De meeste van je werkzaamheden zullen plaatsvinden in Moerdijk, waar ons magazijn en kleine werkplaats zich bevinden. Wie ben jij?
- Je hebt minimaal een mbo 4-diploma of hoger in elektrotechniek.
- Je hebt ruime ervaring als werkvoorbereider en beschikt over het technische inzicht om de benodigde materialen en processen goed door te gronden en te coördineren.
- Je bent technisch én organisatorisch sterk, bewaakt het overzicht en kunt snel schakelen.
- Je hebt goede communicatieve vaardigheden en kunt duidelijk afstemmen met collega's, leveranciers en onderaannemers.
- Als echte aanpakker houd je het overzicht, beweeg je flexibel mee met de werkzaamheden en zorg je dat alles op rolletjes loopt.
- Je hebt ervaring met laagspanningsdistributie en netaansluitingen.
- Je bent zelfstandig, neemt verantwoordelijkheid en hebt een hands-on mentaliteit.
- Je kunt per direct starten.

VOTRE MISSION :

Nous intervenons également sur les réseaux aériens (levage de supports béton/bois, déroulage et raccordements de lignes basse et haute tension).
Au sein du centre de Travaux de Smarves, nous recherchons un(e) Poseur(se) Soudeur(se) Réseaux Gaz. Sous la responsabilité du Conducteur de Travaux, dans le respect des process GRDF, vous serez en charge :
- La pose de réseaux ;
- Les soudures sur canalisations gaz hors et en charge sur du polyéthylène haute densité (PEHD) ;
- Les raccordements coffrets gaz ;
- Les essais pression;
- Les raccordements sur PE existant ;
- La détection de réseaux électriques et gaz (RD 8000/flexitrace) ;
- La veille et le respect des règles de Santé Sécurité.
VOUS SOUHAITEZ NOUS REJOINDRE ?
De formation CAP/BEP ou autre, vous possédez une expérience soudure sur PE/PEHD dans une activité de réseaux extérieurs d'énergie (Gaz Z730, Z733,Z734 et/ou Eau potable).Très précis(e) et rigoureux(se), vous faites preuve de dynamisme et d'autonomie dans votre travail et avez le sens du contact (proximité avec les riverains).
Vous disposez du Permis B- et êtes véhiculé(e). Grands déplacements à prévoir selon les chantiers.
