We have a great opportunity for an Installation Operative to join our solar project delivery team. Our Installation Operatives are crucial to supporting our wider energy business to deliver a wide variety of ambitious solar and other energy renewable projects across the UK. This role will involve working anywhere in the country but we do provide accommodation and other expenses while working away from home.
Key activities:
- To ensure all quality procedures are followed and adhered to
- Collaborate all relevant documentation
- Report all findings with relevant photo’s
- Assist around site when required in all general labouring duties
- Implement all quality procedures as specified by site management
- Ensure that the full co-operation and best customer relations are maintained at all times, specifically on site.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Must have experience working on solar projects
- Desirable to have a current ECS card or CSCS
- Good work attitude with the ability to work away from home during week (with some night working) and be a team player
- Experience of MCX spec relating to cable installation would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills

Senior Bid Manager

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Bid Manager to support our growing Connected Cities business which covers electrical and technology related infrastructure projects within highways sector.
The Senior Bid Manager is accountable for leading, shaping, and delivering high-quality, commercially sound, and strategically aligned bids across the Connected Cities business unit. The role owns the full bid lifecycle—from qualification and strategy development through to submission, governance, and post-submission clarification—ensuring each bid reflects Equans’ strategic priorities, operational capability, and market-leading expertise in street lighting, highways technology, EV-enabled infrastructure, ICP connections and Smart City solutions.
Key activities
- Will have significant autonomy, shaping pursuit strategies, defining win themes, structuring responses, managing risks, and coordinating input from operational, commercial, finance, digital and technical teams
- Responsible for making key decisions throughout the bid process, such as challenging content, adapting strategy based on client insight, and determining the optimal approach to maximise win probability
- Will be directly accountable for the quality, competitiveness, and compliance of submissions that materially contribute to Connected Cities' revenue growth and long-term contract portfolio
- Manage bids typically ranging from £2m to £100m+, including street lighting term maintenance contracts, PFI variations, highways technology programmes, Smart City projects, ICP infrastructure, and strategic frameworks.
- Coordinate inputs from operational delivery teams, commercial and legal specialists, estimating, procurement, social value, carbon reduction, and Equans Digital
- Role requires applying advanced knowledge of bid management principles, governance, operational delivery models, and client priorities
Skills, qualifications and experience
- APMP or equivalent bid/proposal management accreditation
- Significant experience in end-to-end bid management, ideally within infrastructure, highways, street lighting, energy services, utilities, or related technical service environments.
- Proven track record of leading and winning complex, multi-million-pound bids, including frameworks, term maintenance contracts, capital delivery programmes, and multidisciplinary service tenders.
- Strong understanding of public-sector procurement, including PCR, local authority tendering processes, competitive dialogue, and framework call-offs.
- Advanced bid management expertise, including strategy development, win theme creation, storyboarding, content structuring, risk management, and compliance checking.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary bid teams, including commercial, operations, estimating, technical experts, legal, finance, carbon reduction, social value, and digital.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce and review high-quality narrative, technical content, and client-facing documentation.

Picker and Packer
Equans is recruiting for a Pick and Packer in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £25,694.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday
7.5 hours per day between the hours of 06:30am and 17:00
What will you deliver?
Working under the direction of the Catering Supervisor, the Pick and Packer will provide a reactive role that will be utilised to provide support as-and-when required across EQUANS catering outlets, while assisting in the delivery of a high standard of food service meeting the requirements of food hygiene legislation and EQUANS Food Safety Management System (FSMS) at the Royal infirmary of Edinburgh.
For this role you must undergo BPSS level vetting. Part of this includes DBS clearance therefore ability to pass is essential.

Commercial Manager
Equans is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Lewisham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Commercial Manager will be the commercial resource supporting the operational team within a range of Healthcare PFI contracts and partnerships. They will provide contract commercial management services and profit improvement along with focus on compliance. In addition they may be required to support growth within the Sector on the existing contracts as well as new business development initiatives to extend the suite of contracts in the region.
The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including those with client representatives; Equans’ operational teams running the Contracts and other colleagues who provide functional support to the contracts (e.g. risk, finance, HR etc.)
As part of the current contract extension process the Commercial Manager will be required to interact with managers of all levels both internally and within our Client organisations. Senior level dialogue and communication skills are essential in fulfilling this role.
What will you deliver?
- Identifying, monitoring, and reporting on risks.
- Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc).
- Management of jeopardy management process.
- Management of variation/change control.
- Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information.
- Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being complied with.
- Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other Equans colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.).
- Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation.
- Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk.
- Leading in all dispute resolution activity across the relevant contracts, or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity.
- Ensuring a contract review and governance framework is embedded on all contracts.
- Dealing reactively in mitigation of key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner
- Working within the operating environment to ensure Equans’s Values are thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices.

Who are we looking for?
- Proven commercial experience within a similar industry sector (FM/PFI)
- Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Surveying (Building/Quantity) or the Built Environment (FM, Land).
- Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
- Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Sound understanding of risk analysis/management.
- PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel.

Architectural and Facades Lead
EQUANS is looking for a Architectural and Facades Lead to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Architectural & Facades Lead is responsible for leading the design and technical delivery of building solutions across RIBA Stages 2 to 7. This role involves overseeing design development relating to sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with planning, conservation where relevant, and energy efficiency standards. The position requires expertise in design management, technical leadership, and retrofit strategies, integrating modern methods of construction and performance enhancements, and low-carbon materials. Additionally, the role includes developing and leading a team of design engineers, driving seamless project delivery from concept through construction. With a focus on sustainable retrofit schemes, the role ensures design coordination, technical oversight during construction, and performance optimisation to enhance building resilience and long-term sustainability.
What will you deliver?
Architectural & Facade Design
- Lead the design development of the architectural elements particularly as it relates to building envelopes, ensuring compliance with structural, thermal, and aesthetic requirements.
- Drive sustainable solutions, integrating low-carbon materials, passive design principles, and advanced retrofit systems.
- Develop and oversee technical detailing, ensuring durability, airtightness, and thermal performance.
- Lead the design of retrofit schemes (aligning with heritage constraints and conservation guidelines, where applicable).
- Provide expertise in fire performance and regulatory compliance, ensuring facade designs align with Building Safety Act and relevant codes.
Design Management & Coordination
- Oversee RIBA Stages 2 to 4, ensuring seamless integration of architectural design with facades, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Provide ongoing technical support across RIBA Stages 5 to 7, ensuring design intent is upheld during construction and post-occupancy.
- Lead BIM implementation, for architectural and facade elements, ensuring coordinated, data-driven design solutions.
- Develop and maintain 3D models and CAD documentation, ensuring alignment with multidisciplinary teams.
- Facilitate design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshops, optimising performance and cost efficiency.
Retrofit Expertise
- Develop and implement retrofit strategies, including external-, cavity- and internal wall insulation, roof insulation and room-in-roof systems, over-cladding, and high-performance glazing.
- Engage with local authorities, and planning consultants (and heritage bodies where relevant) to secure approvals for facade interventions.
- Conduct condition assessments and material studies, ensuring sustainable preservation of existing building fabric.
Project Delivery & Technical Oversight
- Provide technical leadership throughout RIBA Stages 5 to 7, ensuring buildability, performance verification, and compliance with project specifications.
- Work closely with the project delivery teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve architectural and envelope-related challenges during construction.
- Support quality assurance processes, including on-site inspections, performance testing, and commissioning of architectural retrofit and façade systems.
- Develop and oversee post-occupancy evaluation strategies, assessing thermal performance, airtightness, and durability of architectural elements.
Sustainability & Innovation
- Champion modern methods of construction, low-carbon facade solutions, integrating circular economy principles, bio-based materials, and advanced fabrication techniques.
- Research and implement innovative technologies and modular construction.
- Stay updated with evolving regulatory and sustainability frameworks, ensuring compliance with UK Net Zero targets and energy efficiency standards.

Fabric Supervisor
Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fabric Supervisor to join our FM team working at a prestigious central government building in Westminster. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week from 07:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
The role:
- To supervise/ direct the fabric technicians and also external contractors in the day to day operations, within cost and time target. To ensure the accurate records of work carried out is maintained.
- Extensive experience in the fabric discipline, having severed as, or qualified in, a Fabric orientated trade, preferably in a TFM / PFI environment. Knowledge of project management, mechanical and electrical installations.
- To process the Maximo PPM/ reactive task sheet, by generating tasks and assigning to the hard FM team ensuring tasks are completed on time in line with KPI’s.
- To maintain aspects of fire and smoke prevention, to include periodic fire door inspections and associated maintenance.
- To accurately record all works carried out and completed and identify any remedial works to be undertaken on the documentation provided.
- Provide support to other disciplines within the building
- To order materials and services using ordering system and to update records and job sheets to certify satisfactory delivery/completion
- Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
The person:
- Must have prior supervisory experience and general handyperson knowledge and experience
- L2 Carpentry/Joinery qualification is desirable
- Must have experience of working within the maintenance/hard services area of an FM business
- Must have good IT skills
- Hard working with a can do attitude and able to work unsupervised
- Employment in this post is dependent upon obtaining security clearance; this requires 5 years’ residency in the UK and a valid British or EU passport.

Finance Coordinator - FM
Equans is looking for a Finance Coordinator to join our team based in Speke on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £29,875 and benefits package.
Being a part of the Knowsley School contract and reporting to the Account Manager, you will coordinate of all finance based administrational support to Senior Management Team.
What will you deliver?
- Production of regular routine reports and financial statistical data for the senior management team and finance business partner.
- Regular liaison with the finance business partner relating to effective management of profit and loss.
- Coordination of financial work in progress (WIP).
- Collate and submit the monthly application for payment. Invoice once approved.
- Align monthly tasks to finance timetable. Identify and report on any deadlines that cannot be met and their financial implication.
- Control of ‘goods received’ pursuit of invoices from EQUANS supply chain.
- Investigating invoices submitted eligible for payment/dispute.
- Assisting supply chain with outstanding invoices arrears.
- Overseeing all aspects of purchase order receipting in COUPA.
- Key liaison with external and internal finance functions.
- Ensure all contract variations eligible billed at the agreed fee. In collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Actively monitor and chase debt, resolving any queries leading to non-payment.
- Carry out other duties requested by the Account Manager to maintain the effective support of the Contract Management Team.
- Maintain electronic based filing systems.
- Weekly review of potential billable items and accrual reports awaiting invoice submissions.
