Equans is looking for an Internal & External Communications Lead to strengthen our Communications & Marketing department in Brussels. In this role, you will work closely with the Internal Communications Project Officer within a diverse and dynamic organization.
The Communications & Marketing department is evolving; thus, you will find yourself in an environment focused on change.

- storytelling:
- you develop Equans’ brand story together with the Head of Communication & Marketing, in line with the Group’s guidelines, and communicate it in an inspiring way to internal and external audiences (including the press and influencers). This way, you strengthen the image of Equans BeLux:
- internal storytelling: in close cooperation with HR and our business managers, you share stories that reflect our BeLux culture and strategy. The stories you convey highlight our employees, their expertise, and our ambition. In this context, you are responsible for the monthly internal newsletter
- external storytelling: you are the first point of contact for the press; together with our agency, you develop and maintain the House of Messages; you seek stories that reinforce the positioning of Equans BeLux and proactively communicate with the press to generate positive attention for Equans BeLux (earned media); you organize press conferences and events
- you develop Equans’ brand story together with the Head of Communication & Marketing, in line with the Group’s guidelines, and communicate it in an inspiring way to internal and external audiences (including the press and influencers). This way, you strengthen the image of Equans BeLux:
- process management and facilitation:
- you are responsible for the structure and planning of internal and external communication processes. You gather relevant messages for our employees (global/local, functional, team/department, retrospective/proactive) and for the press, in line with the business strategy. You feed, in close collaboration with the content team, the different internal communication channels and the channels for the press/influencers
- internal campaigns and events:
- you develop creative communication campaigns and organize internal events that inform, engage, and align our employees with our organizational values. From targeted campaigns to (virtual) events: your work ensures that everyone feels involved and inspired
- employer branding from within:
- by closely collaborating with our employer branding team, you ensure that everything we communicate internally reflects the same dynamic and engaging culture that we project externally. You make sure our campaigns are recognized and embraced by our employees
- support for our business managers:
- by closely collaborating with the Equans BeLux management team, you assist them in consistently conveying our values, vision, and action plans, and facilitate interaction with various teams for both internal and external communications
- culture ambassador:
- you play a key role in ensuring that our communication is inclusive, transparent, and aligned with our values. Diversity, ethics, safe (digital) work,… these are important focal points, and you ensure that our internal messages reflect this
- measuring success:
- you monitor and measure the impact of our internal communication and our share in earned media, continually adjusting your strategy to ensure that our message is impactful
Are we a match?
- a master’s degree in communication, marketing, HR, or a related field, combined with relevant work experience demonstrating that you possess the right skills
- a minimum of 10 years of experience in (internal-external) communication, preferably within a group
- experience as a people manager
- a passion for storytelling that can connect different audiences
- a digital communication talent, familiar with various platforms and formats
- a true team player who enjoys collaborating with executives and technical profiles
- you think strategically and connect communication efforts with business objectives
- a creative mind who loves to turn ideas into engaging content for diverse audiences
- analytical skills that allow you to measure your actions
- you feel comfortable communicating with and for C-Level members
- you are fluent in Dutch, French, and English
