Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Executive Vice President (EVP), Quebec Operations and Airport Solutions, holds strategic and operational responsibility for the services delivered in Quebec as well as for the Quebec airport solutions business line. The incumbent ensures overall contract performance, client satisfaction, asset reliability, financial performance, budget and results management, and the growth of service offerings.
Occupational health and safety remains the top priority. The incumbent must promote a concrete, rigorous, and measurable OHS culture while ensuring the execution of preventive, corrective, and managerial mobilization actions. This person also contributes to fostering a positive employee culture focused on engagement, retention, talent development, and collaboration, aligned with EQUANS’ values and objectives.
Description
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE
- Define the integrated vision for Quebec operations and Quebec airport solutions, aligned with EQUANS’ priorities.
- Establish annual priorities and key indicators to monitor overall performance.
- Actively contribute, as a member of EQUANS’ executive leadership team, to strategic direction, growth, and achievement of corporate objectives.
- Oversee the Vice President, Quebec Airport Solutions, regional directors, and managers to ensure coherent and accountable execution.
- Identify major risks and implement required mitigation plans with support functions.
OPERATIONS
- Supervise operations and Facility Management activities to ensure compliance with contractual commitments.
- Ensure structured governance of airport activities and the technological infrastructures supporting them.
- Collaborate with teams to support strategy execution, correction of non‑conformities, and implementation of improvements.
- Accelerate process standardization, continuous improvement, and rigorous use of enterprise tools.
- Promote the adoption of technologies, monitoring tools, and continuous improvement practices to support a performance‑driven culture with measurable results.
- Oversee the mobilization of new contracts and integration of new sites or activities.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (OHS)
- Make OHS the operational priority and demonstrate visible leadership in the field.
- Monitor OHS performance, risks, and corrective action plans.
- Advance employee culture related to OHS to ensure the well‑being of employees, managers, and clients.
- Ensure the application of required measures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Convert field learnings into sustainable corrective actions.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CLIENT RELATIONS
- Maintain strategic relationships with clients, partners, airport communities, and industry leaders.
- Work with the business development team to identify new clients, new offerings, and growth opportunities within major existing accounts.
- Anticipate contract renewals and guide retention and development strategies.
- Contribute to bids, strategic proposals, and transition plans.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND VALUE CREATION
- Ensure rigorous financial management of budgets, business plans, and results, including margin tracking, cash flow, financial risks, variance analysis, and presentation of recommendations and required action plans to leadership.
- Optimize resource allocation, cost management, and use of shared resources.
TALENT, ORGANIZATION, AND SUCCESSION
- Develop a mobilized and accountable leadership team.
- Validate objectives, performance, and succession plans for managers.
- Approve staffing requests and organizational adjustments.
- Support engagement, collaboration, and execution of priorities.
ADMINISTRATION AND COMPLIANCE
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ethical rules, engagement authorities, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate deliverables with relevant support functions, including finance, human resources, legal, procurement, OHS, IT, and digital transformation.
- Perform any other related duties associated with the role or requested by the CEO.
Requirement
- Significant executive experience in multisite operations management and large geographically dispersed teams, ideally in industrial, commercial, or institutional building services, critical infrastructure, or airport environments.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated financial expertise, including experience managing large‑scale P&L and complex service contracts.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with executive‑level clients and contribute to business growth and profitability.
- Recognized OHS leadership and ability to influence expected behaviors in the field.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and complex problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in French and English, both spoken and written.
- Serving Canada and the United States, the role requires delivering services in the appropriate language to ensure smooth and adapted communication.
- French proficiency (spoken and written): Advanced.
- English proficiency (spoken and written): Advanced.
- Frequency of English use: Regular.
- Authorization to work in Canada and availability to travel within Canada, the United States, and internationally as needed.
- Ability to meet required security clearance standards for airport environments.
- University degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and major enterprise systems related to operations, finance, human resources, and asset management.
