Equans is looking for a Service and Quality Improvement Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

The Service & Quality Manager will support the delivery of Operational Excellence across the Sustainable FM North portfolio, with a particular focus on PFI contracts. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Programme – Operational Excellence, the role will work in partnership with operational teams, contract management, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, enhance operational performance, and support the achievement of strategic and contractual objectives.

The role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, strengthen operational resilience, improve compliance, and deliver sustainable value across the portfolio. Through the application of business improvement methodologies, analysis of operational performance, and engagement with frontline teams, the Service & Quality Manager will help identify and implement practical solutions that optimise processes, reduce waste, and standardise ways of working.

The postholder will also support the adoption of digital technologies, automation, AI/ML, and data-driven decision-making to enhance operational effectiveness and improve business outcomes. By fostering collaboration, sharing best practice, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, the Service & Quality Manager will contribute to the long-term success, performance, and profitability of Sustainable FM North’s PFI contracts.

This role can be based at any Equans location in the UK 

What will you deliver?

  • Support the delivery of the Sustainable FM North Operational Excellence strategy across the PFI portfolio, ensuring improvement initiatives align with regional priorities, contractual commitments and business objectives.
  • Partner with Contract Directors, General Managers, operational teams and functional stakeholders to identify, prioritise and deliver improvement initiatives that enhance performance, compliance and customer outcomes.
  • Analyse operational, contractual and performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, translating insights into targeted actions that enhance contract performance and support regional objectives.
  • Conduct operational reviews, process mapping activities and root-cause analysis to identify barriers to performance and implement sustainable solutions that address underlying issues.
  • Develop, coordinate and support the delivery of contract and portfolio improvement plans, ensuring actions are effectively tracked, measured and embedded within operational teams.
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of improvement activities, evaluating outcomes and recommending further actions to maximise operational and commercial benefits.
  • Support the implementation and continual development of performance management tools, dashboards and reporting mechanisms, improving visibility of key performance indicators and contractual obligations.
  • Identify areas of waste, duplication and inefficiency across operational processes and work collaboratively with stakeholders to simplify ways of working and improve consistency across the portfolio.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience delivering business improvement, operational excellence or performance improvement initiatives within an FM, operational or service-led environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into improvement actions.
  • Experience of process mapping, root-cause analysis and implementing sustainable process improvements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across operational and functional teams.
  • Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Understanding of performance management, continuous improvement methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of FM operations and contract environments; PFI experience would be advantageous.
