Summary

Reporting to the business leader, the Procurement Director defines procurement strategies in accordance with Equans Group rules and guidelines. We believe that Procurement is a strategic function to support our clients and our growth. They develop and execute a plan that delivers value for both clients and shareholders.

The Procurement Director manages procurement processes for professional services, service contracts, construction services and materials, as well as equipment and assets. They oversee tender processes, negotiate contracts, drive cost reductions, manage supplier relationships, and ensure internal client needs are met.

As a key business partner for company operations, the Procurement Director, supported by their team, ensures that procurement policies optimize the company’s financial performance innovatively while effectively meeting the needs of internal and external clients.

Description

  • Lead the procurement function and a team of procurement professionals. Direct and support all requirements of procurement.
  • Deploy Equans Group Procurement tools locally: Ensure implementation of Equans Group procurement tools and processes within the company.
  • Optimize procurement strategies: Target purchasing categories with significant potential value for the company, both locally and corporately. Identify cost reduction opportunities and proactively initiate cost reduction projects.
  • Support upstream project teams and technical services: Collaborate with teams to anticipate and meet their needs.
  • Define and implement procurement strategy for new contracts: Work in collaboration with the business development department during bids.
  • Close collaboration with operations: Represent the Procurement Department in multidisciplinary meetings related to assigned projects.
  • Coordinate procurement and sourcing team: Ensure smooth process operation and task allocation within the team. Assist buyers in developing their strategies.
  • Deploy group procurement policies: Implement procurement policies and strategic axes within projects.
  • Utilize and manage procurement networks: Identify and establish synergies with other entities of Bouygues Group and partners.
  • Supervise tender processes: Ensure and oversee procurement negotiations, considering time and quality requirements, and integrating project-related issues and risks.
  • Participate in performance management and supplier evaluation: Monitor existing contracts, define and implement action plans by service and site.
  • Resolve disputes with suppliers: Manage issues related to quality, service, or delivery deadlines, as needed.
  • Conduct strategic monitoring: Identify technological innovation opportunities to generate optimizations and value creation for the company and its clients.
  • Internal and external communication role: Share relevant information and regularly report to unit managers.
  • Ensure proper application of procurement processes: Communicate and enforce procurement processes within the organization.
  • Lead the procurement function and a team of procurement professionals.
  • Collaborate with vice presidents (and their teams) to support the needs and plans of various business units.
  • Support the company from tender processes to delivery: Adhere to company procurement policies and identify strategic partnerships that meet the company’s needs.
  • Improve efficiency and quality of internal processes: Continuously optimize internal procedures.
  • Interact with other Bouygues companies: Leverage purchasing power and establish first-class processes, strategies, and tools

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in Canada;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent education/experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in leading the procurement function and a team of procurement professionals;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in contracting services (required);
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in procurement and supply chain;
  • Experience in services, construction, and public-private partnerships is an asset;
  • Bilingual in French/English (essential);
  • Ability to negotiate sensitive contracts that meet the needs of our clients and the company, covering professional services, subcontracting, construction, materials, assets, tools, and equipment;
  • Strong understanding of contractual language;
  • Advanced knowledge of technologies related to procurement and supply chain processes;
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite, with a strong command of Excel;
  • Knowledge of the facility management field;
  • Possess a valid passport;
  • Hold a valid work permit.
