Equans in Roeselare is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Supervisor Solar Technics to join our project management team in the newly created Carbon Shift organization.

In this role you support the Project Manager in all site implementation tasks to achieve the project execution within time and budget. This job requires excellent communication skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

As a Site Manager, you oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You serve as the primary point of contact on-site and coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and clients to facilitate excellent project execution. Focus of the projects relate to solar PV on industrial sites, combined with other technologies for decarbonization of the industry.

 

What are your key responsibilities?

  • project management:
    • manage day-to-day operations of the construction site under the guidance of the Project Manager
    • ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
  • team leadership:
    • supervise, motivate, and coordinate site staff and subcontractors
    • conduct regular meetings to review project progress and address challenges
  • communication:
    • serve as the main liaison between clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
    • provide regular project updates and reports to senior management
    • address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise on-site
  • quality assurance:
    • monitor work progress and ensure adherence to project specifications and design plans
    • inspect site for quality compliance and proper workmanship
  • documentation and reporting:
    • maintain accurate project records, including site logs, safety reports, and progress updates
    • prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports as required

 

What do you need to be successful in this function?

  • bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or preferably a related field
  • proven experience in construction management or a similar role, typically 3-5 years
  • experience in the renewable energy sector is an advantage
  • strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, with strong time-management skills
  • demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to a team
  • ability to adjust to changing priorities, project requirements, and timelines
  • you are willing to work on-site at construction locations
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels in English, Dutch and/or French (minimum bilingual)
