What if you could lead critical projects impacting safety and compliance within the nuclear sector?
We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager to lead and manage projects related to the fire department, radioprotection or prevention consultancy. In this role you are mainly based in Doel.
This job requires effective people management skills, strong financial analysis abilities, and a keen interest in the nuclear sector, where most of the projects will be centered. Fluency in Dutch and English and a good command of French is preferred.
What are your key responsibilities in this function?
- project planning and execution:
- develop comprehensive project plans outlining goals, timelines, resources, and budgets
- lead and coordinate firemen and radioprotection teams throughout the project lifecycle
- monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes
- business development:
- identify new business opportunities within the current and potential client landscape
- develop and present proposals and bids to win new projects
- stay updated on industry trends and market movements to identify potential areas for business growth
- collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align project goals with business strategies
- stakeholder management:
- engage with internal and external stakeholders to align project objectives and expectations
- foster positive relationships and ensure stakeholder satisfaction
- team leadership:
- manage different teams adding up to 70 people
- establish a high-performing team culture, encouraging leadership behaviors across the team
- provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members
- financial management:
- perform financial analysis to optimize project budget and resources
- monitor project costs and ensure financial objectives are met
- report on financial status and project performance to management
- risk and opportunity management:
- identify potential risks and opportunities within the project
- develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
- compliance and safety:
- ensure projects comply with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations
- manage radioprotection protocols and procedures in accordance with nuclear industry standards
What do you need to excel in this function?
- bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) is considered a plus
- experience in the nuclear industry or with projects related to fire safety and radioprotection is a strong plus
- first experience in project management is a plus
- strong leadership and people management skills
- excellent financial analysis and budgeting skills
- interest or familiarity with the nuclear sector
- strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- fluent in Dutch and English, with good proficiency in French
