EQUANS is looking for a Fabric Technician (Flooring) on a permanent basis. This would be based in Liverpool working for our Knowsley Schools contract. This would include working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
To undertake or oversee all fabric works and elements of statutory compliance across the Knowsley schools properties.
This is a customer facing role, often with tight deadlines, so communications skills and ability to prioritise tasks are essential. The role will cover reactive and proactive responsibilities relating to the condition and appearance of the building fabrics across the schools. Full driving licence required, vehicle will be provided.

Qualifications and Experience
•ONC/C&G or equivalent in relevant are of expertise – flooring installation floor welding and maintenance.
•Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
•Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
•Ability to measure, works to plans (method statements).
Desirable Experience:
•Experience of working on all types of flooring ranging from vinyl replacement maintenance and welding, carpet repairs and installation, and basic fabric maintenance skills.
•Pricing of small works/projects – basic not complex works
•PPM & Reactive Work
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Carry out all fabric duties such as laying vinyl and repairing vinyl, laying carpet tiles delivered to specification within SLA or project timescales, assisting the FM team with fabric and ADHOC requests
2. Organise the ordering of materials and parts to site as required, ensure paperwork and records are supplied and CAFM systems updated
3. Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, including sub-contractors management, completing all relevant permits.
4. To undertake PPM and reactive works to ensure that all jobs are completed in line with Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators and Critical Performance Indicators
5. To liaise as necessary with client representatives and resolve any matters which may arise.
6. To ensure that work is completed on target and to the satisfaction of the client.
7. To immediately report any potentially dangerous situations to the Management.
8. Participation in the emergency on-call system on an agreed rota basis.
9. To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
10. To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
11. To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service.
