We have a great opportunity for an Operational Excellence Coordinator to join our highly successful Energy Solutions business; primarily supporting our renewable energy projects. 

Our Energy Solutions business oversee major renewable EPC projects across the UK.  We design, install, commission and operate large scale solar PV farms for our clients. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

Alongside our solar farm projects we are involved in delivering a wide range of energy solutions to secure a more sustainable future.

 

Key activities

 

  • Preparing cost models for new bids, including ensuring COP and Overhead provisions are accurate, sales sheet is current in line with business expectations. Active actor of the collaboration with Equans UK&I BDO and DE&S BDO teams.
  • Preparation of cash and liability flow preparation, and foreign currency hedge forecasts
  • Liaison with design team for latest bill of materials and site layouts, including the interrogation of design approach, ensuring operational efficiencies are being considered
  • Review of key site particulars that will influence pricing strategy, for example review of flood risk assessments which will affect foundations and placement of major electrical equipment
  • Review of programme of works preprepared by others ensuring costs, and payment profile are in line with governance expectations, ensuring a positive cash flow.
  • Detailed cost comparison for governance review, including review of trends across portfolio of schemes to support decisions on pricing strategies and discussions with prospective employers
  • Preparation of Contractor’s Proposal, ensuring price, qualifications, and key contractual commitments are reflective of governance approval.
  • Constant review of lessons learned from current operational schemes, to ensure new pricing is reflective of current issues and/or scope gaps
  • Support in preparation of subcontracts ensuring scope of works reflects costs build up
  • Transfer of tender cost build up to P0 post contract award, and handover to commercial team
  • With assistance from procurement; obtaining current pricing from suppliers & subcontractors
  • Providing support where necessary with regards to quality element of bids
  • Maintaining a very good relationship with all customers and ability to build trust and confidence
  • Management of insurance claims, obtaining key information from site team, and preparing necessary information to the loss adjustors for claims to ensure a swift settlement
  • Liaison with subcontractors, and management of bond register, ensuring bonds are maintained through contractual period
  • Preparation of current contract variations where necessary, especially assisting the commercial team on major design changes or portfolio scope gaps, where multiple items will need to be reviewed, and full cost model analysis will need to be considered

 

Skills, qualifications & experience

 

  • Strong communications skills
  • Full understanding of MS Office
  • MSc, Energy Management
