Equans is looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to join our team on the HMCTS contract on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. You will be based from Dartford County Court covering sites in the surrounding area. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equan processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Core sites of operation will be Dartford, Medway and Sevenoaks with travel further afield as and when required.


What will you deliver?

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, doors (including fire doors), windows, furniture, and more.
  • Inspect and clear drainage systems; unblock toilets and sinks.
  • Replace luminaries and carry out painting, decorating, and installing signage.
  • Provide general site upkeep including sweeping and tidying.
  • Support client and Equans teams with moves, changes, and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Proactively highlight areas for improvement and ensure consumables and parts are available.
  • Complete all required documentation, including CAFM paperwork, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Monitor and supervise subcontractors on site.
  • Maintain clean and safe plant rooms and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover flexibly, including lone working after training.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies to ensure business continuity.
  • Uphold the professional image of Equans at all times.

Who are we looking for?

  • Suitable experience working in a demanding, similar role.
  • Demonstrable skills in at least one of the following trades: carpentry, painting, plumbing, or flooring within construction, repair, or maintenance environments.
  • Good knowledge of fire door maintenance and inspection techniques.
  • Understanding of Legionella control methods such as tap flushing.
  • NVQ (or equivalent) qualification in one of the following:
    • Plumbing
    • Carpentry
    • Decorating services
  • Due to the nature of the role, the successful postholder will be required to obtain and maintain security vetting which includes a criminal records check.
