Summary
We are seeking a versatile and proactive Facilities Services Technician to join our team at a leading pharmaceutical facility. The successful candidate will perform general maintenance and inspections tasks across the facility, supporting operational teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations. A good knowledge of the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry is essential to understand the unique requirements of maintaining compliance and safety standards.
Description
General Maintenance, Inspections and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance, Inspections and repairs on building systems, fixtures, and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Address general handypersons and or general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and minor repairs throughout the facility.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become critical.
Support for Operational Teams:
- Collaborate with operational teams to support the setup and maintenance of production and laboratory equipment.
- Assist with the relocation and installation of equipment and furniture to optimize workspace efficiency.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and provide timely solutions to minimize disruption to operations.
- Escort subcontractors when required
- Assist and or conduct other assigned duties from supervisor or management team when required.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
- Respond promptly to building emergencies and resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with other departments to support facility-related projects and improvements.
- Provide support for setting up and dismantling events and meetings within the facility.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for staff and visitors.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and facility regulations.
- Participate in safety drills and contribute to maintaining emergency response readiness.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Report maintenance and safety issues to the Facilities Manager and recommend improvements.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Is authorized to work in the US;
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a relevant trade is preferred;
- Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry;
- Proven experience in general maintenance and handyperson tasks, preferably within a pharmaceutical or industrial setting;
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed;
- Certification in facility management or related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a GMP-compliant environment.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
