Equans is recruiting a Fabric Engineer to join our Operations – Hard & Soft FM team in Southwark, London. This exciting role gives you the chance to directly impact the maintenance and smooth operation of our facilities while delivering exceptional service to our clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Fabric Maintenance: Carry out fabric works such as carpentry, painting & decorating, ceiling tile replacement, and fitting carpet tiles.

PPM & Reactive Works: Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Critical Performance Indicators (CPIs).

Compliance: Work closely with contractors to ensure that all work complies with Equans’ Health & Safety standards and relevant legislation.

Material Ordering & Records: Order materials and services within agreed delegation levels, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion. Maintain accurate stock control, engineer reports, and maintenance records.

Estimates & Site Measurements: Provide estimates and site measurements for work in hand, ensuring cost control and accurate record-keeping.

Contractor Management: Manage external contractors, ensuring that Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are submitted and the appropriate permits are issued for compliance-related works.

Statutory Compliance: Assist with the creation and maintenance of logbooks to ensure statutory compliance across the site.

Authorised Person Responsibilities: Undertake duties such as Water Hygiene checks (in line with ACOP L8) and Fire Door checks (according to BM TRADA standards).

Audits: Assist with internal and external compliance audits, ensuring that all documentation meets required compliance standards.

Porterage Support: Provide porterage services such as furniture resets, post deliveries, and loading bay duties as required.

Helpdesk Calls: Respond to Helpdesk requests within agreed timescales, accurately reporting work order completion.

Team Support: Offer assistance in covering absent colleagues and ensure team support in a friendly, professional manner.

Refilling Consumables: Ensure consumables are replenished in washrooms and catering facilities.

Health & Safety: Comply with the company's Health & Safety policy and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:

Proven experience in fabric maintenance, including carpentry, decorating, and general fabric works

Ability to manage external contractors and ensure RAMS and permits compliance

Strong organizational and time management skills

Expertise in statutory compliance and documentation

Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors, and internal teams

In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices
Desirable:

Experience using CAFM systems (e.g., Maximo)

Authorised Person qualifications (e.g., Water Hygiene checks, Fire Door inspections)

Previous experience in a similar role within facilities management

What will you deliver?
As the on-site Cleaner, you’ll keep the building clean and tidy to the highest standard of hygiene, health and safety whilst maintaining a professional manner with all members of staff and general public.
For this role you must undergo BPSS level vetting. Part of this includes DBS clearance therefore ability to pass is essential.

In order to meet our customers requirements, the post holder must go through Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). This is a form of Security Clearance set out by the Government which goes through several checks.
These checks typically include:

Station Reception Officer
Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Station Reception Officer to join our operational team at Sutton Police Station. This is a permanent full-time shift based position working an average of 40 hours per week both days and nights, 6 days on, 4 days off with a 30 minute unpaid break.
Shift pattern is as follows:
2xET: 0600-1600
2xLT: 1200-1000
2xND: 0830-0630
The role:
- Reports to Facilities & Services Manager
- Providing an efficient first point of contact for members of the public
- Answer calls promptly and clearly before re-routing callers accordingly
- Operate computer systems accurately to record enquires
- Receive and administer property
- To be responsible for the security, safety and tidiness of the station reception areas
- Working an average of 40 hours per week on a 6 on 4 off shift pattern, 10 hour shifts, earlies, lates and nights.
- May be required to provide occasional cover at other sites within SE London
The person:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of written/spoken English
- Diligent customer service attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
- Subject to security vetting by the Metropolitan Police

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to contract administration, statutory, and PPM compliance, while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management: Maintain comprehensive audit files for each contract, ensuring all documentation (contracts, amendments, compliance records) is up-to-date.

Documentation & Reporting: Develop and manage Hard FM maintenance records, ensuring that compliance documentation is monitored and processed efficiently.

Audit Participation: Take part in internal and external compliance audits, preparing and submitting necessary documentation.

Collaboration: Work with both internal teams and clients to respond to inquiries and support compliance in administrative processes.

Corrective Actions: Track and report corrective actions, ensuring issues are effectively closed out and resolved.

Administration & Support: Provide general administrative support, including placing orders, updating the CAFM system (Maximo), and generating reports for management.

What will you deliver?

- Issue reports to Internal and external clients/Customers using in-house system.

- Administration tasks as required by the business.

Helpdesk Adviser
Equans is looking for a Helpdesk Adviser to join our team at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
To provide a customer focused Helpdesk Service, dealing with all client/customer requests, managing all complaints in a sensitive and efficient manner. Respond to all calls in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and records maintained.
What will you deliver?
- Receive and process customer telephone, email, and fax or internet requests to ensure the timely and effective completion of work, in accordance with the service level specification
- Participate in workplace inspections and risk assessments on regular basis
- Contribute to the business change programme as a result of direct experience in delivering the helpdesk service
- Ensure that the relevant information is accurately logged on FM Services database in accordance with Performance Management System (PMS) to enable the effective transfer of information to the appropriate department for action.
- Provide an administrative support service to the team (including distribution of mail; typing; filing; and dealing with telephone calls as necessary) to maximise efficiency and also to facilitate a good responsive customer service
- Regularly review logged calls on the database, to monitor progress, identify priority tasks and ensure timely completion
- Ensure information on completed and partially completed tasks is entered into the databases, maintaining accurately the current status of all tasks
- Responsible for passing on instructions to facilities staff, recording such action in response to calls, requests etc., and enabling staff to meet the performance targets of the contract

Technical Services Supervisor
EQUANS are looking for a Technical Services Supervisor to be based at Burnley General Teaching Hospital. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
•This position is for a Technical Services Supervisor, responsible for the planning of work and the co-ordination of directly employed labour/sub-contractors at Burnley General Teaching Hospital. Ensuring all maintenance, repairs and ongoing condition of mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant, and equipment are to a standard in accordance with the requirements of the Project Agreements.
•Ensure penalty deductions are minimised by achieving the required performance targets described in the output specifications.
•Take an active role in Equans Safety First initiatives including co-ordinating and delivering regular toolbox talks, safety stand downs and the minimising of incidents and accidents on site.
Role Specific Accountabilities:
•Act as a lead directly responsible for Maintenance Team performance.
•Provide leadership and motivation to the Maintenance Team in delivering the requirements of the service.
•Manage and supervise responsive and planned maintenance of plant, equipment and building fabric through directly employed labour and external contractors.
•Participate in the implementation of the Company SSOW permit to work systems.
•Co-ordinate with the Equans Helpdesk and MAXIMO CAFM system to manage the issuing and closing out of reactive and preventative maintenance tasks required under the Project Agreements. Co-ordinate all reactive and proactive maintenance work daily.
•Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, NHS Trust and Company policies and guidelines.
•Be actively involved in assessing and documenting subcontractor performance in support of the Head of Technical Operations Manager/Contract Manager.
•Requisition materials, services and transport as required. Manage centralised stock levels to ensure a prioritised and effective response to maintenance issues.
•Undertake regular site visits to monitor and assess directly employed labour and task progress / completion.
•Instruct others on all aspects of their work to include assisting with the co-ordination and delivery of toolbox talks.
•At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of EQUANS in the workplace.
•Flexible working hours may be required including overtime working to meet the needs of the business.
•Assist with evaluating training received by trade staff and assessing their competency.
•Be prepared to undertake any relevant training to develop the position in line with the changing needs of the service provision.
•Provide technical engineering advice and support to maintenance staff where required.
•Positively manage relationships to enhance perception of service provision.
•Assist the Head of Technical Operations Manager/Contract Manager in the production of management reports and analyses.
•Undertake any other duties as required commensurate with this role.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

•Experience of working within a Healthcare environment preferred but not essential.
