Equans is looking for a Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to join the team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, and benefits package.

The Head of Procurement & Supply Chain (Sustainable FM) is a senior role within the Procurement function, responsible for delivering the UK fiscal financial procurement targets for the Sustainable FM business division. This role ensures that both the operational and strategic procurement needs of the EQUANS Sustainable FM division are met:

As the Head of Procurement, you will:

Strategic Alignment: Participate in the overall coordination of procurement activities to support the strategic direction of the division, including alignment with Central Category Teams to leverage EQUANS spend and surpass savings targets.

Expertise Delivery: Provide procurement and commercial expertise across all service lines, driving a tangible link to profit improvement with a strong focus on optimizing best business practices, fiscal performance, risk management, and compliance.

Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of strong procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring continuous development and growth within the team.

Supply Chain Management: Oversee and manage a performing supply chain, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and buy-in from senior management across diverse operational business units. Senior-level dialogue and communication skills are essential to fulfil this role effectively.

Financial Performance: Understand UKBU finance performance measures to drive the correct outputs for the UK while aligning with wider EQUANS Group procurement performance objectives and the Procure to Perform Plan.

Sustainability Focus: Lead initiatives to integrate sustainability into procurement practices, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s net zero roadmap and CSR goals.

Innovation and Best Practices: Promote innovative procurement solutions and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the division.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that the procurement function not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the EQUANS Sustainable FM division, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the organisation.

What will you deliver?

  • Align procurement strategies with the organization’s overall objectives
  • Support and feed into category strategies to ensure alignment with operational expectations, activities, and goals
  • Implement procurement governance and controls to ensure compliance within the division
  • Drive procurement governance, processes, and best practices
  • Pre-approve and validate all procurement savings workstreams
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance and training
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment
  • Lead team development and performance culture
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain
  • Develop contingency plans for critical supplies
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective purchasing practices
  • Simplify savings methodology while complying with globally set standards
  • Lead sourcing projects and strategies, driving the team to think innovatively about value extraction
  • Develop accurate and well-developed monthly reporting cycles against annual performance targets
  • Develop performance and reporting tools to support operations, functions, and procurement decision-making processes
  • Support the BD teams and wider procurement team to align bidding activities
  • Ensure effective communication and stakeholder training
  • Align commercial reward schemes and coordinate approaches both within the UK and globally
  • Eliminate conflicts across all procurement workstreams and drive collaboration and communication
  • Support strategic performance projects such as CSR (social value, net zero roadmap) and the Supplier of Choice strategy strand

Who are we looking for?

  • MCIPS – Finalized all exams within CIPS training
  • Hold professional certifications such as MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)
  • Must have an understanding of the Facilities Management sector, including procurement through complex supply chains
  • Extensive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven track record of managing procurement teams and processes
  • Ability to build strong relationships with operational colleagues
  • Demonstrable ability to create collaborative working relationships and effective partnerships with direct reports and stakeholders across the business and externally
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage, develop, and inspire the Operational Procurement team and work collaboratively with non-direct reports
  • Ability to turn complex processes and procedures into a simple framework
  • Entrepreneurial eye for opportunities to deliver value
  • Ability to use own initiative as well as work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize own workload and delegate where appropriate
  • Excellent attention to detail
