We currently have a great opportunity for a Building Services Project Manager to join our projects team and be based at Worcester Royal Hospital overseeing building fit out projects on the site.  Suitable candidates will have a firm grasp of CDM and be familiar with the RIBA stages. 

Key activities 

  • Manage overall project programme through matrix managed project teams effectively utilising in-house resource and sub-contract arrangements
  • Act as a programme coordinator for the site and to ensure appropriate resource is available and allocated to deliver projects successfully
  • Take profit and loss responsibility for the site, and ensure the programme is in place 
  • Draw together matrix managed teams to deliver owned projects 
  • To be accountable for the service delivery in accordance with business systems
  • To assume and assert commercial control over projects allocated to deliver margins identified. 
  • Set and manage client expectations through clear communication centred around programme, budget and the quality of services
  • Create strategic and operational programmes and ensure the Projects Managers’ adherence to appropriate processes
  • In accordance with contract forms, manage project team within the specified terms
  • Maintain all project administrative activities, including Quality Assurance and procedures associated with monitoring contract performance
  • Manage supply chain ensuring formal performance feedback is provided to the procurement team
  • Maintain high, and statutory compliant, health and safety standards on project sites at all times.

Sills, qualifications & experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Must have a Building Services qualification
  • Fully understand CDM
  • Familiar with the RIBA stages
  • Excellent communication skills together with proven experience of drawing together efficient teams 
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of all applicable legislation, regulations and standards
  • Strong client facing and customer services skills with the ability to cope with demanding and varied customer requirements
  • Need to have a track record of successful management and delivery of projects as well as experience of successful partnership
