Located in Clayton, Melbourne, the successful applicant will have a strong background in engineering maintenance and operations, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of the specific requirements of facility operations in the pharmaceutical industry.
Much of this available role will involve overseeing and maintaining critical systems during assigned shifts to ensure seamless facility operations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all critical systems during assigned shifts, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Respond promptly to system faults or breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure all facility systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, particularly those specific to pharmaceutical environments.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operation of all facility systems.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, including shift logs, system performance, and repair work.
  • Monitor environmental conditions within the facility to meet strict pharmaceutical manufacturing standards.
  • Assist with the scheduling and supervision of external contractors during repairs or maintenance work.
  • Stay updated on the latest facility management technologies and industry trends to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including night and weekend shifts, and occasional overtime as required.

What You Need

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Shift Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or in a similar role within facility operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, hydraulic systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering-related codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in engineering or maintenance (e.g., mechanical, electrical, HVAC).
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check.
