Equans is looking for an Assistant Estates Manager- Water to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
This role has an important role within the workflow process; the person will be actively involved in developing detailed knowledge, and the maintenance of the core plant and equipment on the QEH Estate.
The post holder will manage the water team ensuring that planned preventive maintenance, testing, breakdown maintenance and other maintenance related activities to the Estate are completed and records maintained. To undertake any reasonable duties to maintain all services to the NHS Trust(s) and to carry out all works in compliance with Equans KPI’s.
What will you deliver?
- To be fully conversant with and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health & Safety regulations, HTMs, and all safety rules both Equans and Statutory
- To manage the water team, systems and plant across the estate ensuring they are fully compliant with current legislation and guidance
- To ensure logbooks and records are maintained, up to date, and available for audits/inspections as required
- To act as Responsible Person (RP) for Water Services across the Estate
- To attend the Water Safety Group as Equans RP
- Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision
- To ensure that immediate corrective action is taken in the event of emergencies, so that the Trusts/client needs are met, to avoid danger to people, property, and service provision
- To provide as requested by management reports, calculations, and recommendations for the correct and efficient running of all plant and equipment
- To undertake additional and continual training in job skills and techniques that may be required to meet personal and organisational aims
- To undertake any other duties as requested by Management, to comply with Equans contact and KPI’s
- To take part in the out of hours on call rota

Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience of working within a health care environment in a water role (desirable)
- Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training
- HTM 04 RP/CP training (desirable)
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
