Equans NZ is looking for a Sprinkler Service Technician to join our friendly Wellington branch supporting our team of Sprinkler Technicians.

About the role
Equans is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Service Technician to join our Wellington team.  Our team are passionate about Fire Protection Services and take pride in the quality of their work.  You will need to have a strong focus on providing top level customer service, working safely, have a solid understanding of New Zealand Standards.  Participation in an on-call roster (with great rates) and ongoing overtime opportunities are available.

• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment with a genuine focus on the health and safety of yourself and others.
• Be proactive in providing assistance to other employees and sub-contractors
• Provide appropriate support to the Fire services team through communication and provision of technical support and mentoring
• Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out as per the relevant contract
• Liaise with clients and/or their representatives to discuss/resolve any issues arising from maintenance contracts or other work carried out
• Diagnose technical issues and prioritise workload to meet customer service levels and deliver outcomes in an efficient and effective manner.
• Routine testing of Fire alarm and sprinkler systems maybe required
• Prepare quotations or estimates for installation or maintenance and/or related work as requested

Technical qualifications and experience

• A solid knowledge of the applicable New Zealand Standards relevant to mechanical fire protection systems and equipment
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Fire industry
• Excellent ability to build effective relationships with clients
• Excellent communication skills to clearly relate with clients and peers
• Current clean NZ driver licence, or the ability to obtain one
