The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective servicing, inspection, and testing of fire protection equipment such as fire alarm systems, fire panels, portables, fire doors, exit and emergency lighting systems and hose-reels and hydrants.

Responsibilities

  • Survey customer premises and recommend fire protection and safety systems and equipment, in accordance with Equans procedures and processes and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Identify, inspect, and test fire protection and safety systems and equipment – including fire panels, EWIS, fire alarm systems, emergency exit lighting, portables, hydrants and hose reels and fire doors.
  • Complete and provide evidence of maintenance performed on fire protection systems and equipment using logbooks and associated documents in an accurate manner.
  • Drive commitment and maximise efficiencies via route planning, time management, stock management and service delivery.
  • Manage and maintain all assigned company property, including documents, tools and equipment.
  • Effectively manage administrative requirements including call reports and timesheets.
  • Participate in the on call roster if required.
  • Comply with all customer requirements, as defined by customer contracts.
  • Ensure customer concerns and complaints are proactively addressed.
  • Ensure the appropriate and timely use of any allocated company device.
  • Attend all scheduled training programs and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure highest level of individual and company vehicle presentation as an Equans employee.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Participate in HSE training, inductions and HSE initiatives relevant to the role.
  • Use equipment, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and responsibly.
  • Actively minimise environmental impacts by reducing waste and following waste management practices.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Level of Education

  • Year 12 (Highly Desirable)
  • Certificate II or III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (Highly desirable)

Licenses/Certificates

  • Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
  • Working at Heights (Highly Desirable)
  • Open Cabling License (Highly Desirable)
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) <11metres (Highly desirable)
  • Construction Induction Card (Highly Desirable)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role within the fire protection industry  (Mandatory).
  • A solid knowledge of the applicable Australian Standards relevant to fixed systems and fire protection equipment.
  • Strong dexterity and aptitude for problem solving.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills.
