Summary 

Under the authority of the Site Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs diverse manual tasks concerning building maintenance and operations. Note: this position will need to work in different facilities in Plattsburgh, NY and will need to travel between them.

Description 

• Interact with and direct external contractors as required.
• Complete scheduled Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks within agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Support in small projects and minor repairs, such as patching and painting, tiling, flooring, minor plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and furniture moves, etc.
• Use hand and power tools and other equipment, as necessary, to complete assignments.
• Perform electrical installations to feed new equipment, troubleshoots electrical problems on all existing equipment as assigned:
  • Variable frequency motor drives;
  • Indoor/outdoor lighting and power;
  • Emergency Generators;
  • Electric heating and controls;
  • Electric motors and associated equipment.

• Follow all company safety and security procedures.
• Enter and complete work orders utilizing the mobile CMMS provided.
• Complete all other tasks required by his immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the US;
• High School diploma or equivalent;
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a relevant field;
• Previous experience in a commercial facility maintenance role;
• Able to use handheld portable devices to process work orders within CMMS;
• Able to move and lift loads. The candidate needs to satisfy the physical activities of the job. Able to lift 30 pounds;
• Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces and heights up to 50 feet;
• Ability to pass all background checks, security screenings, and drug screenings;
• Valid Driver’s License;
• Must be available on call outside business hours (on a rotational basis of 1 week per month – From 4:00PM to 6:30AM)
• Experience in technical background, repair/maintenance to HVAC and building controls (an asset).
