Equans is looking for an Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team in Central London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary plus company benefits package.
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer you will perform planned maintenance (PPM) routines and reactive repairs on a wide range of electrical installations, mechanical assets and building systems.
You will work as part of the team assigned to deliver hard services and technical compliance and expertise as part Equans FM services contract with Grant Thornton (London).
What will you deliver?
- Supports line management with the day-to-day coordination & delivery of hard services
- Reactive tasks will include (but are not exhaustive to) electrical repairs, testing and installation, mechanical / building services maintenance & repairs, water management, plumbing systems, lighting repairs and bulb replacement, fabric, sub-contractor management
- Actively participates in Management Safety Visits, taking on board and rectifying any safety observations made
- Ensures PPM records and paperwork are up to date and correctly filed in the site log books
- Ensures all PPM’s & reactive works are completed within the specified SLA timeframes
- Capable of understanding and working from mechanical / electrical schematics
- Responsible for co-ordinating electrical shutdowns / reinstatement of services following loss of power
- Attends reactive tasks and emergency breakdowns as required
- Takes part in the ‘out of hour’s’ emergency call out rota for the contract and is the on-call technician for the required time

Who are we looking for?
- Relevant electrical City and Guilds qualifications to at least GNVQ/GSVQ level II
- 18th Edition IEE Regs
- City & Guilds Electrical Testing & Inspection (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds Electrical Installation BS 7671 (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds Building Services Accreditation (or equivalent)
- Experience in a Building Services industry is preferable
- PAT – Portable Appliance Testing
- Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical aspects of plant, systems and equipment
- Ability to use hand tools, associated trade tools, equipment and machinery for maintenance, repair and minor improvement/new work
- IT literate and able to record information accurately
- Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people
