Equans is looking for a Pre-Planned Maintenance (PPM) Assistant to join our team in Sheffield on a 6-month contract for our Sheffield University contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:   
A PPM assistant is fully responsible for all planned preventative maintenance provided to them within the student accommodation working as a team supervised by the PPM Supervisor and any ad-hoc duties that are carried out on a day-to-day basis. 

Impact:   
They are to support the management team and maintain a professional manner at all times for visitors, clients and the team.

Complexity:  
• Work under the supervision and direction of the Technical Manager
• Carry out the following planned maintenance as required (subject to change in line with Statutory guidance and contractual requests):
– shower head inspection and cleaning in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) regime
– weekly flushing of showers, outlets and toilets in all unoccupied rooms and record accordingly
– water temperature testing monthly of cold/hot water outlets
– weekly fire alarm testing on the student accommodation and record the results
– monthly disabled refuge alarm checks
– weekly corridor/riser cupboard checks 
• Maintain a safe and tidy working area
• Assist skilled trades in carrying out reactive maintenance and repair works as instructed
• Carry out installation works involved in minor upgrade and adaptation works
• Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory. University of Sheffield and EQUANS policies
• Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health and safety and manufacturers guidelines
• Assist with unloading stock deliveries
• Undertake training where necessary to maintain and develop the requirements of the service including L8 Legionella Training. 
• Communicate effectively with site teams and management. 
• Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS projects as directed

Qualifications or Required Experience:  
• Experience in a similar role
• Computer literate, educated to a good standard
• Organisational and administration acumen.
• Good people interpersonal skills.
• Good team player
• Ability to prioritise & work effectively under pressure.
• Effective communicator.
• Physically fit as a considerable amount of walking is required around site
• Full clean driving licence
