Due to a recent expansion Equans AV Technologies are looking for an AV Service Technician to join their highly skilled support team based out of the Equans AV Technologies offices in the eastern suburbs.

What you will be doing

  • Provide effective, hands-on technical maintenance and repairs to commercial grade AV equipment; ensure proper client support and satisfaction.
  • Provide preventive and corrective maintenance for AV/Videoconferencing equipment and systems across of number of sectors including government, health, education and residential environments.
  • Ensure proper reporting, response and resolution of incidents and issues.
  • Work closely with the service coordination team, project managers and control system programmers.
  • Provide end user training to customers.

What you need

  • Operating knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and maintain audio visual hardware, software and systems.
  • Demonstrate an intermediate technical understanding of: Control systems (AMX/Crestron), AV switchers, routers, scalers, audio reinforcement equipment and other associated AV peripheral devices.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain videoconferencing equipment and systems.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and follow AV system drawings in order to troubleshoot & resolve issues.
  • Ability to document all work in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to multitask, support multiple customers and ensure tasks are followed through to resolution.
  • Flexible work schedule; some early morning, late evening and weekend work.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the AV industry
  • Infocomm CTS Certified preferred
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of audio, video, broadcast production, routing, switching and AV control equipment.
  • Experience and product training in Crestron, Amx, Extron, QSC, Biamp, Cisco/Polycom VC etc.
  • High level communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Be well presented as this is a customer facing role.
  • A valid driver’s license
