Equans is looking for an Assistant Estates Manager- Fire Doors to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on an 18-month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role is vital to ensure that the estate is maintained to a high and compliant standard, ensuring that all statutory requirements are fully complied with and documented for all services and facilities under the control of the contract.
What will you deliver?
- Assist the manager with the day-to-day Fire door programme and work streams on behalf of Equans whilst interfacing with a number of construction, and non-construction, parties
- Collate all information related to the fire doors appropriately
- Managing and directing the appointed Contractor in a safe and efficient manner
- Manage other contractors as required to plan and carry out isolations where required to remove doors linked to access control etc. Where required to manage enabling works to be ensure completeness at each stage
- Ensure that all works are being carried out in compliance with: Statute, Contract Requirements, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s)
- Managing and resolving incidents of non-compliance across the project in line with Contract and Company Requirements
- Responsible for the execution of any other estates and facilities related duties in an emergency/urgent situation, as directed by the Technical Services Managers or Senior Management Team
- To undertake Appointed Person duties as required following suitable training – this will be to complete isolation works to enable the programme to run smoothly
- Carryout Equans Management Safety Visits and compliance audits (MSV) across the project

Who are we looking for?
- NVQ 3 Carpentry and/or Fire door installation certification scheme
- Fire door surveying accreditation scheme
- Electrical Installation – Approved apprenticeship with either
- City & Guild 236 Part 1, 2 & 3 Parts A, B, C or
- 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671 – 2018 Amendment)
- High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate with knowledge of CAFM systems and all Microsoft Office packages
- Must be able to manage people, be self- motivating, able to work on own initiative, liaise and delegate effectively with staff operating in a multi-disciplinary environment
- A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements will be required
- Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technical and estates and building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services
- Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
- Experience of Microsoft Office software essential, including Outlook, Word
This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
