Equans is looking for an EPM Controller to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
Provide a single, secure, accurate, timely & trusted source of actual & planned financial performance information for the entire Equans UK BU as a member of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) team. The core EPM solution is SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (SAP BPC).
The post holder will support the adoption of the group data platform, Palantir, to drive data driven analysis and machine learning efficiencies. Responsible for the complete, accurate & timely collation & reporting of the Equans UK BU, with turnover in excess of £2 billion, within the EPM solution.
The EPM Controller will need to work closely with other team members & 3rd party consultants to deliver the goals of the role and interaction with the Data Services Team to ensure data pipelines are robust & reliable. The EPM controller will liaise with Finance Business Partners from all divisions (to support 150+ solution users) and have regular contact with senior finance staff including Group Financial Controller, FP&A Director, FP&A Manager, Head of Financial Reporting, Divisional Finance Directors, and Financial Controllers.
What will you deliver?
- Apply high-level problem-solving skills to critical, complex combined datasets, sourced from multiple ERP systems, with differing underlying principles and approaches
- Apply rigorous analysis to support robust, logical decision making, when faced with complex issues & competing demands
- Contribute to the design & development of innovative EPM solutions & processes, to increase functionality & continuously improve our solutions
- Develop & maintain master & transaction data within the EPM solutions in accordance with Company standards, policies & timetables
- Design & develop integrations with source systems to allow wider reporting and forecasting scope and high value-added solutions
- Develop & deliver system-specific user training & provide user support
- Develop new reports & dashboards to meet user requirements & maintain reports logged within the central reporting catalogue
- Test system developments and changes, including the development of user acceptance testing where appropriate & manage the promotion of developments into the Production environment.
- Produce documentation to support system administration procedures, including use of our agile development tools Jira and Confluence.

Who are we looking for?
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, etc)
- Excellent advanced problem-solving skills to conceptualise & optimise multi-dimensional reporting solutions, which both minimise complexity & maximise utility & benefit for users
- Highly proficient at applying rigorous analysis to support robust, logical decision making
- Excellent communication skills required to understand requirements, discuss & resolve complex issues, & write & deliver effective, crisp training materials
- An ability to work accurately & methodically while under pressure to meet critical reporting deadlines
- As a qualified accountant, with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience, you will consistently apply a rigorous approach to controls, fundamental to ensuring a reliable, trusted dataset is created and maintained
- Highly proficient skill level with a specialised multi-dimensional enterprise performance reporting system. SAP BPC specific experience would be advantageous
- Highly proficient skill level with Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications
- High level of technical skill to manage large volumes of data in a structured, controlled manner
- Extensive experience of data preparation, cleansing, conversion, transformation & loading using Microsoft Power Query or Python
- Demonstrable experience of new reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI to create sophisticated, user-oriented dashboards
