As a Senior IT Controller at Equans Belux, you’ll take the lead on all financial matters within the IT organisation. From budget forecasting to cost management and rebilling, you’ll ensure every euro spent contributes directly to performance and business value. This role reports to the CIO and includes the management of one direct report. You’ll work closely with colleagues from IT, Finance, Procurement, and Group IT to make sure our financial processes are rock-solid and future-proof.
Your role in a few points:
- formulate and administer the IT department’s budget, forecast and actuals financial performance, and conduct thorough variance analyses. Ensure detailed tracking and reporting of financial metrics
- exercise vigilant oversight of IT expenditures, identify and implement cost-saving measures, and ensure the adoption of cost-effective practices. Conduct in-depth cost-benefit analyses and continuously monitor cost drivers
- ensure timely and accurate rebilling to IT internal customers and maintain the IT Belux rebilling framework
- manage and optimize both operational and capital expenditures, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Develop and implement strategies for effective Opex and Capex planning and control
- compile and deliver detailed financial reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial documentation
- ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and internal policies
- supervise the financial dimensions of IT projects, ensuring discipline and timely completion within budgetary constraints. Provide detailed financial projections and track project expenditures meticulously
- collaborate closely with IT and finance teams to harmonize financial objectives with overarching business goals. Facilitate detailed financial discussions and ensure alignment across departments
- identify potential financial risks within the IT department and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
- review, implement, and maintain robust IT cost management frameworks, processes, policies, and procedures
- provide the right set of tools to the IT community to support them in their financial & budget processes
- act as the primary point of contact for procurement-related topics, including purchase orders (PO), ordering, and vendor management
You’ll thrive in this role with:
- a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- at least 7 years of experience in financial management, including 5 in a senior IT controlling role
- demonstrated proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP) and analytical tools
- deep knowledge of IT financial processes, including budget, forecast, recharging, Opex and Capex management
- familiarity with detailed financial reporting standards and practices, with a strong focus on detailed financial documentation and record-keeping
- a structured, detail-oriented approach and a natural drive for accuracy and completeness
- the leadership to guide your small team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence and be the go-to person for all IT cost-related matters
- strong problem-solving capabilities
- an analytical mindset and the ability to see both the big picture and the fine print
- fluency in English and at least one of the Belgian national languages (Dutch or French)
