EQUANS are recruiting for an Apprentice Business Administrator to be based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This is an 18-month Apprenticeship working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

The Apprentice Business Administrator will provide essential administrative support across various departments within the construction company. This role is responsible for assisting in the smooth running of business operations by handling documentation, supporting internal processes, and liaising with different teams. The apprentice will develop key business administration skills while gaining exposure to the construction industry, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide administrative support to departments such as HR, Finance, Procurement, and Site Management.
  • Assist in document management, including filing, updating records, and handling correspondence.
  • Support the coordination of meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate business operations.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with industry regulations, policies, and health & safety guidelines.
  • Learn and apply business administration practices to support the efficient operation of the company.
  • Work towards completing the Business Administration apprenticeship qualification.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying areas for efficiency and suggesting soloutions.

Who are we looking for?

Essential:

  • A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade 4 (C) or above.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry or an interest in the sector.
  • An understanding of business administration principles.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
