EQUANS is looking for a Head of Bids to join our team in Hatfield on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Head of Bids will be responsible for managing, leading, and training the bid function to ensure high-quality submissions that align with the company’s strategic objectives. This role will lead all aspects of the bid process, oversee the bid team, and drive continuous improvement in bid quality and efficiency.
What will you deliver?
- Lead and manage the bid function, ensuring high performance and quality submissions.
- Oversee the bid process, managing scheduling and resource allocation.
- Line manage and mentor TBMs, BMs, and SBMs, ensuring they have development plans.
- Maintain and enhance the bid library, ensuring strategic updates.
- Attend key bid meetings and contribute to win plans and answer strategies.
- Ensure all bid materials meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Train and develop the bid team in persuasive writing and grammar.
- Analyse bid feedback and scoring data to drive improvements.
- Maintain awareness of public procurement legislation and commercial considerations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance bid success.

Who are we looking for?
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in leading and managing a bid function.
- Strong knowledge of bid processes, strategy, and public procurement legislation.
- Experience in line management, training, and mentoring bid professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in bid scoring and performance analysis.
- Proficiency in bid management tools, including Salesforce.
- Commercial and contractual awareness with a focus on risk management.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
