Equans is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our team in Newcastle on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
The Procurement Manager’s role is for them to be illustrate responsibility for maximising delivered financial value and enhancing visibility and perception of Procurement within EQUANS
This would be measured by successfully and smoothly implementing new supplier contracts and delivering ongoing value and savings in line with the Procurement Policy.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for delivering challenging budgetary targets.
- Identifying, monitoring and reporting on spend across a matrix of contracts.
- Supporting the management and mitigation of spend at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc).
- Establish a level of compliance across EQUANS operational contracts for both materials
- and services.
- Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other EQUANS colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.).
- Working constantly in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation within the supply chain
- Supporting the management of cash under supplier terms and incentive schemes
- Realise savings as per annual fiscal plan and other value that supports the growth and profitability of the company
- Representing Procurement with clients and operations directly to identify and resolve variations from the contract deliverables.
- Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk.
- Supporting and as required leading in all supplier dispute resolution activity in these contracts areas or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity.
- Ensuring a contract review and governance framework is followed in all contracts.
- Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner against the agreed procurement and savings plan

Who are we looking for?
- Experience of similar multi stakeholder organisations/roles
- Suitable procurement, commercial and or financial / accounting or QS experience within a similar industry sector Law, Surveying, Accounting
- Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial / contracts.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to tailor approach based on the audience
- Financial acumen with an ability to analyse data and documentation with accuracy
- Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a procurement / commercial environment
