EQUANS are recruiting for a Planning and Dispatch Manager to be based in Manchester. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

The post holder is accountable for the delivery of the hard services contract and specifications for, Manchester City Council – Public Buildings

The post holder will be required to deal with various technical challenges, including but not limited to PPM, RW, Projects, Minor Works and Statutory compliance. The post holder will be required to deal with any technical issues that arise as part of those works and resolve any associated budgetary or commercial challenges. Typically, the post holder will be required to work closely with the Operations Manager and where appropriate escalate any decisions requiring financial approval over their LOA (as per EQUANS DLAs), or where a commercial consideration is needed.

The post holder will be required to understand both the contract and its associated specifications to ensure delivery to customer expectations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Make sure planners are aware, supported and trained in their daily tasks
  • Manage and support the team so daily tasks are completed in line with contract requirements
  • Manage holidays/sickness within the team and make sure enough cover is always available to ensure service is maintained
  • Undertake monthly one to one review meetings with each planner
  • Liaise with the supervisors and report back to Operations Manager with regards to deviations from agreed plans
  • Record call stats and carry out spot checks on each team member on both a weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitor and track progress of potential overdue orders, closing down of orders, cyclical maintenance activities and monitor/track and report KPIs as required per contract.
  • Producing contractual monthly reports and presenting within the agreed service meetings.
  • Ensuring PPM is delivered to required standard e.g. SFG20
  • Ensuring 100% statutory compliance and/or ensuring a remedial programme is in place
  • Ensuring H&S compliance to legislative and EQUANS standards
  • Management of the Planning & Admin Teams, including PDRs, succession planning, absence and performance management
  • Financial performance of the contract
  • Identification of additional works
  • Supporting the growth of the North-West Region through engagement and participation in tenders
  • Carry out sub-contractor audits and awareness (MSV)
  • Carry out sub-contractor performance review meetings
  • Supporting and developing the contract business plan with the Operations Director
  • Seek customer feedback and identify opportunities to enhance satisfaction levels and organic growth opportunities
  • Provide miscellaneous management reports for the Operations Director and SLT as required
  • Support the contract through sponsoring and championing central projects, PIP implementation and identifying process enhancements
  • Planning and tracking training status

Who are we looking for?

Experience

 

  • A technical qualification, preferably from a delivery building services maintenance background.
  • H&S qualifications to IOSH Certificate level
  • Electrical QS
  • An In depth understanding of maintenance practices such as SFG20
  • Full understanding of building compliance duties
  • Experience managing complex contracts
  • Experience managing a diverse team
  • Strong and successful facilitation, negotiating and influencing skills,
  • Ability to develop effective relations with key stakeholders including senior management, customers, staff teams and clients
  •  Ability to set and achieve targets via effective engagement with stakeholder groups
  • Strong communications skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills. To effectively manage a team of ensuring all aspects of maintenance and repairs are planned, dispatched and billed in accordance with strict KPIs/SLAs and in a safe working environment.
  • As a technical backgrounded manager, provide timely support to maintain the highest standard of statutory compliance. Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in accordance with the EQUANS Environmental Health & Safety policy, quality, sustainability and energy efficiency related standards
