Equans is looking for a Managing Surveyor Commercial Manager (Projects) to join the team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, and benefits package.

The post holder will be responsible for the development & implementation of the Regional Contract Action Plan for the profit enhancement and continual improvement of all project work. To provide, develop and implement project contractual and commercial controls to support the success of project delivery and CAP. Provide monthly (or as necessary) detailed project commercial reports. To work with, support, mentor Operational and PMO teams to maximise revenue and profit while managing risks appropriately.

What will you deliver?

  • To provide strategic and commercial direction and management of ACNs and ‘composite’ (multi- funded) Life Cycle works through all RIBA PoW stages
  • To ensure all RFI and change request information is managed and impacts on cost and programme are appropriately commercially and contractually managed to yield additional revenues and enhanced profit
  • Develop and implement consultant and subcontractors supply strategies to maximise efficiency and minimise costs, improve project implementation agility

  • To be the key owner of the contract and commercial Stage 0 / ACN process ensuring such elements are provided in Project Execution Plans are submitted with clear project strategies to enhance profit
  • To work closely, providing guidance and mentoring to the Work Place Change manager, Operational and PMO teams to implement the best project implementation and management strategies to maximise profit
  • To develop and implement process as required to support the improvement plan in consultation with SLT
  • To act as PQS to monitor the efficiency of the PMO team, ensuring RIBA stage resource plans are used and monitored to maximise efficiency.  Monthly (or other frequency) reports to be provided to support project final account/outturn forecasts, P&L and cost reconciliation
  • To prepare reports, tenders, presentations, and other documents as required, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • To have a working knowledge of CDM and understanding of RIBA plan of work
  • To effectively manage and develop the service across the contract, using standards set by the Company
  • To have and further develop a strong understanding of the PFI contract (Project Agreement & Construction & Services Contracts) to underpin project strategies.  To provide effective guidance of contractual matters
  • Develop contracting, work packaging and pricing/tendering strategies to support profit enhancement, including developing Schedule of Rates (i.e Detailed Construction Cost Plan rates following commercial test)
  • To ensure that all relevant H&S, compliance, policy documentation and security aspects are sufficiently allowed for when undertaking work
  • To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
  • To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
  • To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description
