EQUANS is looking for a Technical Services Support Engineer to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

You will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise in mechanical, electrical systems, to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. To support our team of engineers to ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Working alongside the ‘Technical Services Manager’ the Technical Services Support Engineer is responsible for the operational management and compliance of the building and engineering services for EQUANS and for the management of the Manchester Town Hall Complex and other MCC public Buildings.

What will you deliver? 

  • You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that engineering maintenance, including contract work, is carried out to appropriate standards, specifications and appropriate records are kept.
  • Overall compliance of the ppm schedule will sit with the Technical Services Manager, who will be expected to work with the client on the creation of complaint planned maintenance schedules.
  • The individual is responsible for the efficient use of resources and ensuring that materials, plant and equipment are effectively utilised and continuously improved in accordance with service delivery targets.
  • Although the Technical Services Manager will assume line manager responsibility for the Engineering Supervisors. This responsibility involves objective setting, identifying training requirements, managing sickness/absence, and ensuring that all works are undertaken in line with Engie policy. The Technical Services Manager will also always promote the EQUANS values and ensure that their teams are acting in line with these. This also includes responsibility for promoting Health and Safety initiatives and ensuring that their teams are working safely in line with these initiatives.

 The key objectives of the Technical Services Support Engineer include:

  • Planning and implementation of change to improve service and operational quality, delivery and customer satisfaction with the Technical Services Manager.
  • To ensure customer focused service delivery, contractual and procedural compliance across the Manchester Town Hall Complex and other MCC public Buildings with regards to the following aspects of the Contract:
  • Ensure the provision and maintenance of a high level of Mechanical / Electrical / Support to our Engineering Team and Clients.
  • Ensure up to date accurate asset management and support to the Technical Service Manager in complying with the contract requirements.
  • Support the Technical Services Manager with regards to the ‘Soft Landing Process’ for ‘Our Town Hall’ (Refurbishment of the Manchester Town Hall) in conjunction with The MCC Our Town Hall’ Projects Team.
  • Form part of the RP/AP roles as required by the contracts.

Who are we looking for? 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Qualified to City & Guilds, NVQ or HNC equivalent qualification.
  • A Facilities Management or Energy (Zero Carbon) background.
  • Ideally will have had experience of delivering a major change project or programme or equivalent experience.
  • A wide exposure to portfolio management, prioritisations and delivery
  • Experience of setting and achieving targets and producing work of high quality to agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Strong desire for innovation and adaptable to come up with and gain agreement to workable value adding business solutions
  • Strong communication (written & oral skills)
  • Strong drive for results and a high level of resilience
